No way, that they don't become the most hated team in the NBA, with the display they are putting on right now. Incredible. I for one welcome our new overlord villains.

Yahoo Sources: Clippers believe they have a DeAndre Jordan commitment, refuse to exit his home. http://yhoo.it/1HNojtR

Sources: DeAndre Jordan still has everyone closed out, including Cuban. Clippers are two hours away from signing him, they believe.

Deandre Jordan last week verbally committed to signing with the Dallas Mavericks, a rival team. According to a moratorium during the first week of Free Agency, a player cannot sign to make it official until July 9th.

His former teammates and coaches did not take this lightly, and decided to lobby him to re-sign with the Clippers, his original team. The players are still at his house convincing him to come back, even after the verbal commitment.

This is not necessarily taboo, but is in bad form as Verbal agreements and agreements in principle serve a purpose for the rest of the NBA to continue to make moves and deals. If a verbal commitment doesn't hold weight anymore, business breaks down.

Jordan is now on the verge of signing back with his original team.

Is that better?

Very informative OP

Can you explain a little more? I'm not sure I get what's happening.

One of the Clippers' players, DeAndre Jordan, was a free agent and had agreed to sign with Dallas. He apparently got some cold feet prior to when he could officially sign (tonight at midnight), the Clippers swooped in, and they've (allegedly) barricaded his house against anyone else, including Jordan's own agent. Jordan is apparently not taking calls from Dallas, his agent, or anyone, but has not yet officially backed out on his prior verbal agreement.

I am very confused.

I'm going to guess a high profile free agent or rookie is very close to signing with the Clippers and Blake Griffin is making fun of the situation by intimating that they're not letting said high profile guy leave his house until he signs?

I guess?

Thanks. Wow, that's pretty crazy.

Meh, the Clips are fine, Jordan looks like a giant bitch though. Be a man and tell the Mavs you changed your mind, don't hide in your house and screen phone calls.

Background: DeAndre Jordan, a Clippers free agent, agreed last week to sign with the Dallas Mavericks. The free agency period where you can sign contracts starts at midnight.

Flash forward to today and every Clipper has shown up at his house and demanded that he stay. According to twitter (ha), they've blockaded his house and are not allowing him to talk to anyone. Blake's twitter picture is a joke on the whole thing. DeAndre is apparently going to sign with LA at midnight but it's all hearsay.

There's certainly some theatrics going on too, but this is pretty damn unprecedented and the Clippers are certainly looking like villains. Still entertaining as hell. The Griffin tweet is some next level shit.

This still explains nothing.

Jordan originally was going to with Dallas (if not already), but the Clippers have pretty much begged him to come back and made erroneous tactics in doing so.

Jordan told media that he was tired of getting bitched at by Chris Paul and that was pretty much his problem in staying with the Clippers.

Could be. It is hard to tell.

Sources: Cuban is beside himself. Driving around downtown Dallas begging (thru texts) Jordan's family for address to DeAndre's home

LMAO

Jordan is going to schedule a meeting with the Mavs. CP3 will be hiding with behind the door when Cuban walks in. After Cuban gets in, CP3 hits him with a steel chair. Cuban is knocked out. Doc and Balmer come into the picture. Jordan signs the Clippers contract and then they spray paint LAC on Cubans chest. *Camera fades out*

Not much of a heel move, until it's in writing don't assume something is going to happen. Happens in business and sports all the time.

Grown ass man cant decide what he wants millions of dollars in an old city or in a new city so his family calls his coach and teammates to force him to resign.

Nba in nutshell. Immature adults with wrestling scripts straight out of the attitude era

bish gets all the credit :)
1. Deandre Jordan play(ed) for the Clippers.
2. Deandre Jordan became a free agent this summer.
3. Deandre Jordan (verbally) agree to play for the Mavericks.
4. Deandre Jordan apparently got cold feet and his old team went hard at re-recruiting him to stay with the Clippers. No one can officially sign until midnight tonight.
5. Clippers players, owner (Steve Ballmer), and coach are all at his house trying to convince him to stay. They will not let anyone else into the house (barricading the door), and won't accept any phone calls from the Mavericks.

Just a bunch of unwritten rules are being broken. The rest of the league's signings usually happen after the big players sign. It's caused a huge flux in terms of deals already verbally agreed to.

At least the clippers seem to be embracing the heel thing.

That's what I fucking hated about lebron's heat run. He totally was the villain but would never play into it. Basically John cena.

I don't see the clippers are the villains in this. At most it makes Jordan look like a flip flopper, then again he probably realized he was going to play on the mavs with the corpse of Dirk.
