I'd figure why they don't post as much is because a lot of members on GAF are really militant and "fuck you, I'm right" about their views. People don't like being ganged up and shamed when they're attempting to have a discussion.

That's true, but I don't think maintaining the "victim" attitude is productive at all. If you post a view and someone posts a criticism of said view, a legitimate rebuttal is not bringing up the fact that you are a persecuted minority opinion, or that the majority of the board is "left-wing" or "socialist" (as if those are bad words, lol).

I see that same scenario play out on a number of discussion boards. Some views posted are horrifying - and the person posting the view just shuts down because they're being "ganged up on" or "attacked", as if that's all that needs to be said to combat the opposition.

Well, that was interesting. A lot of my answers were 'other' and I honestly don't feel that I'm that much of a leftie.

Nonetheless, my results were 99% Bernie, 91% Hillary, 67% O'Malley ... 0% Ted Cruz.

I got 93% with Bernie which sounds about right.

My only issue with him is that he's non religious in any way and parts of me worry how that will affect his stance on religious issues such as tax breaks for churches and housing allowance for pastors. This affects me personally being a pastor and all.

Scandinavian here, only know who hillary and donald are.

91% Bernie
82% Hillary
27% Donald (WHAT?)

Serious question - I get that this would affect you in terms of tax breaks, but why should the federal government continue to give you tax breaks? As in, why should churches in general receive tax breaks at all? Non-profits aren't (always) religious organizations, so I get their tax breaks. They're actively "doing" something for the community. Churches, arguably (and with some exceptions), contribute very little back to their community other than (spiritual?) support.

I would be affected if they chose to reduce military spending because my husband is a commissioned corps officer - he would potentially lose out on salary and retirement benefits, so I get where you're coming from. No one wants to have something taken away from them - but I was just curious your thoughts on this.

I had two "republican" family member take this test. Both aligned with Bernie Sanders and Clinton above all else. Lol the reactions were amazing.

Got 83% Bernie and Hillary. Have seen Bernie maybe once or twice on Mahers show, I'd honestly vote anyone over Hillary as long as they are democrat. Just do not trust her. Lowest % was Carly Fiorina. Based on this I'm guessing she is some right wing nut job.

91% - Bernie
87% - Hillary
65% - Martin
36% - Jeb
31% - Rand
28% - Donald

Apparently Donald supports the legalization of marijuana? Strikes me as a weird stance for a Republican.

Candidates you side with...
98% Bernie Sanders
90% Hillary Clinton
72% Martin O'Malley
41% Rand Paul
27% Mike Huckabee
25% Chris Christie
23% Jeb Bush
21% Carly Fiorina
19% Lindsey Graham
17% Donald Trump
13% Ben Carson
12% Marco Rubio
6% Rick Perry
4% Scott Walker
1% Rick Santorum
1% Ted Cruz

Looks like I need to pay more attention to Bernie...

Hmm not sure how the website determines your results then. For health care I said I support a single payer system, like Canada. I said there should be more gun control. Not sure how I get 90% with that guy.
Maybe my position on illegal immigration. It seems like being against illegal immigration in America makes you right wing or something.

Eh, being against economic refugees (which the right wing labeled as "illegal") is a core conservative stand point. It's not an American exclusive thing except the label "illegal immigration".

92 Bernie. I don't have very strong views on some subjects so having to go 'yes' or 'no' on some questions was rough. I'm actually surprised it was only 92. I need to research some of the issues better and retake this before the primaries.

The politics of immigration in the US is very different to that in other western countries because of its giant, porous border. Honestly, even most republicans would be to the left of both major parties in Australia on undocumented immigration.

There are more options if you click on 'other stance'

I skipped the ones I didn't really care about

Is this thing rigged for Bernie? I ended up matching more closely with Hillary with Bernie being second, but the things I explicitly said I care about most, I don't align with him and then I got an ad for his campaign after I finished the quiz.

i got 92% with bernie sanders and have no idea who he is (australian). does he realistically have any chance whatsoever?

Sadly, no. It would take some kind of scandal, or he would have to just dominate the debates so much so that people rush to donate to him and he becomes a sensation. He has too much going against him. Lack of funding and calling himself a "socialist" are the two biggest. Even if he wins the primaries he'll likely lose the election because republicans would be running ads 24/7 about how evil socialism is and how Bernie will be sending your paychecks to folks on welfare.

I'm still voting for him because I believe in his stances.

I got Hil, and Sanders. I disagreed with sanders on immigration. I don't support illegal's but, I do support the ones here and want to make it easier for them to become citizens. I was in a car accident with a group of illegals. My car got fucked, and theirs didn't, they didn't speak english had no insurance at all. Both fled as soon as police arrived, and all the cops said was"oh well". It's not fair I'm poor too but, my rates went up and I had no way of getting any money from them.

I am German and consider myself left-leaning, got 96% Sanders. Also who the fuck is Ted Cruz? He seems like a cartoon villain.

Despite how I may wish this is true, this is a majority of posters on NeoGaf, a site known for its 18-35 demographics. With most users located in liberal/leftist areas of their countries.
Yeah these 99% scores are extreme but you don't have to be a pot-smoking socialist to side more with Sanders than Clinton. I'd be surprised if they did a similar anonymous poll on issues with the majority of voters and Clinton was in first place.

Not sure how I sided so much with both Sanders and Paul.

Kinda funny that there's no solid alignment with any of the candidates.
Your percentage points are lower than mine, but the list of candidates are in nearly the same order. Getting both Paul and Sanders means you probably err more to leftist libertarian beliefs (similar to me).

The "share my beliefs" map is kind of depressing. Red hot spots on the coasts and just as sea of green and blue in the flyover states.

Man I am so sorry that you have never seen or been part of a church that's actually doing what it's supposed to. To give you some examples of what he church I work at does, we provide free counseling, we run a food pantry, we offer benevolence (help folks pay for bills they can't afford, medical expenses they need help with, etc), we do all kinds of drives for school supplies, coats, blankets, we've helped with adoptions, serve the homeless, teach free English to speakers of other languages classes, we have various cancer and elderly ministries, we offer our building as teen center to any teenager regardless of creed or walk of life, etc.

Churches do a lot man. We are not even close to the most active church in our area. In many low income areas especially, the church provides services that aren't available to folks anywhere else.

Yeah many churches (from all religions) don't live this out as they should, but many many more do.

Non-American here testing the quiz, 88% on both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, with Hillary named top-dawg in my book.

Funny, the 98% Sanders are the really terrifying ones.

Are you kidding? Bernie Sanders views are actually more closer to facts than any candidate running. You can literally remove him from the equation and his positions still have such validity of themselves.

Do you hate facts?
