Nintendo will, if anything, do something like naming a building or working group after him. This is a tried and true way to immortalize key figures in a company who have retired or passed on.
The Satoru Iwata Research and Development Center, or what have you. This kind of thing is way better than something fleeting like an amiibo.
They actually have an area set aside for mourning him.

Wonder which game will be the last to feature Iwata as excutive producer...
Agghhh I'll play some Captain Toad to cheer me up.
For release in the west, it will be Fire Emblem Fates.

Don't know what to do with myself today. Just can't get into anything.
A screenshot I posted on Miiverse last year:

Look how aged and sick he was few weeks ago, and still working. He knew his death was close, but instead of being at home, he decided to do what he loves the most: work!!!
Jesus fuck, I scrolled up quickly and thought this was a photo of Yamauchi. Had to double check.
Fuuuuuck cancer

OK, I'll be honest. I wish we had something on our header to remember Iwata. Here, I said it.
I'm 100% supportive of gay marriage but it feels strange seeing the NeoGAF staff ignoring such a shocking death. Dunno, seeing a cheerful logo feels out of place today.
I'm sure we'll see "Special Thanks" and things like that in others along the way.

Fuck cancer!!
It makes things seem much worse when the fanbase was giving Nintendo a really hard time for their lackluster E3 performance considering the dude was fighting for his life. I don't want to say the criticism was unjustified but in retrospect I'm sure Iwata gave it his all.
I've just made myself feel worse.
I'm really sad about this....the poor guy had to go during a time when people were bashing Nintendo. He deserved better.

Just wanted to thank you for your efforts on this.
I was just about coping, 150 pages in, then clicked back to the OP and saw all the updates you'd made by that point. I very quickly couldn't read the screen for tears.
Thanks, man.

Same here.It pains me to see him like this.
It pains me even more thinking about him knowing himself is not long to this world.
It pains me even harder knowing he is gone after less than a month.
Man, fuck you cancer! FUCK YOU! I've seen so many people go through this horrendous transition because of you, Patrick Swayze, Dennis Hopper, Steve Jobs, and now Iwata.
This picture did it for me, I just couldn't hold in the tears anymore man, fuck, it's always the good ones that go soon...

Changed all of mine a few years ago but never finished Crystal because I had to grind before the E4 and didn't want to.Changed the Battery of my Pokemon Gold Cartridge today. Couldn't saved my game for years, today was a good day to change that
