Tembo the Badass Elephant releasing on July 21st for $14.99/£9.99/€12.99

Definitely going to buy it on Steam, thanks for the reminder! Here's hoping it can run on my laptop with good ol' Intel integrated.

Just read the excuse why it's not coming to the Wii U.....wow, lol.

It's seriously the best excuse ever.

When I was writing the presentation documents for this game, I drew a mockup poster, and I put the Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox logos at the bottom. It seemed to fit, and it happened to stick that way.

Why would it need 1.5 GB of RAM when the game isn't even 1 GB?
This isn't how games work, games can create data on the fly and store it in RAM resulting in a higher RAM requirement than their file size on disk. For instance WiiWare downloads were limited to 40mb but I'm sure some of them used all 70mb of the wii's ram during gameplay.

Still doesn't seem like it should be taking up that much memory. It doesn't seem very complex or taxing.

Then again, maybe the 15gb is legitimate. So, we should hope it is for the hilarity of it.

15GB of RAM?! What the fuck?!

Please be false!
PLEASE BE FALSE!

EDIT: Looks like they change it to 2GB. Now I can happily calm myself.

I hope this game turns out to be great. Most of the previews seemed genuinely positive so i'm looking forward to the reviews and the game.

It sounds like the "Gating" levels until you get enough enemy kills is gonna kill the reviews : (

Reading those 2 reviews it seems to have fallen into SEGA's trap of making stages be more about the challenge than the enjoyment of playing them ala a few previous Sonic games (looking at you Sonic 4-1 and LW!)

Yeah, not super excited about that, but I'm planning on giving this a try anyway.

15 GB? Well, I guess that explains why it isn't coming to Nintendo systems, despite this game being made by half of the 3rd Parties that still bother with them beyond publishing deals.

Still, I can pick this up on Steam; it looked quirky, so I'll have to check it out coming up here.

Stuff like that is usually done to artificially extend length, and it always leaves a bad taste.

But why extend the life of a clearly arcade-style title? I think most people are conditioned by now to not expect 100+ hour stories from games that launch at $15.

Speaking as someone who is decidedly not a 100% completist, that pretty much instantly confines it to "wait till it's $2.50 or less" territory.

I am in the same boat. This went from buy on release to wait till it's $5 on PSN or Steam, whichever comes first. I wonder if there is a chance Sega will patch that shit out of the game or make it an option in settings.

that's a shame.

probably still worth a try, just not at launch price.

I was thinking of getting this, but I made up a mockup poster of all the games I'm buying this summer and it wasn't on there. As you know my hands are obviously tied.

kill count to unlock levels and the apparent high challenge just killed my hype for the game. Oh well
