Also I'm guessing Perfect Legend hasn't been saying shit after EVO?
I'm really sorry for him. He puts so much work into it... But man, always surprise me that this guy has such talent (Along with Justin and Sonicfox the most talented FG player in the USA) and such weak head... And he hasn't work on it since today...
In the other hand, it's so funny RF reaction. He looks like a guy that has seen something supernatural
Guess he was the character Ono hinted at for Brazil? Strange that they debuted him in the New Zealand stage, though.
I didn't say that it excused them, just that it might have made them even more confident.
And now we have the game footage
Check dat edit, he has a ton of Maori stuff on him too I read, so now I'm totally confused.
Maybe it's like T-Hawk who's a Mexican Native American.
or he has someweird split personality thing idk
The Marvel "gods" got blown the fuck up. No way around it. That is what happens when peeps stay hungry while the gods become lazy.
ChrisG for me is still the best Marvel 3 player of all time. Even though he has not won an evo he has dominated the game unlike any other player. I hope he can dedicate his skill towards SFV.
Marvel sadly got treated like shit at Evo there is a good write up on SRK about this. Clearly the games with devs handing out big money and McRibs were the ones to get better coverage.
I feel this might be the last time we see Marvel as a main game at Evo. ;_;
yeah, jumping is actually a trap vs hulk much of the time, his airthrow ability is really gross (dash+jump has incredible burst speed and goes really far) and he capitalizes on your commitment to a jump by being able to press forward and most likely hit you or lock you down- see how rayray and jwong kept getting clipped in that manner
Biz, do you have trouble double tapping to dash because of your situation?
yeah, i lose to jan and jdog at almost every tournament i enter so i've got plenty of experience being rolled by the hulktrainyou know my pain ;_;
its like hulk is a counterpick for wolverine with akuma tatsu assist. he can armor through a lot of crap and you can't cancel out the drones without having a beam assist (or justin's ghetto storm assist).
Marvel will continue to be a main game at EVO as long as there are even a couple of hundred people who enter. It won't necessarily be run in the penultimate slot, though.
I've been trying to convince folks here that, at least for some people (myself included), double tapping to dash is a bit difficult. For me, I'm just a bit slow at the motion, but for others, it might not be possible at all. I've been advocating for the community to support a two-button dash option for SFV, because it helps folks like me and you and hurts no one, but it has fallen on deaf ears.Yes. I heavily relied on two button dash in Marvel.

Do you have any thoughts on how we might get the word out?
Fighting games should be for everyone, and all that.

I just really hope marvel gets what it deserves as far as the community supporting it. If the scene blows up again it'd be great to have it at any timeslot but this year was kinda a weak showing and I think unless that changes it should be reflected in how it's treated at evo.
Gonna be two potential sf games next year anyhow so it's getting crowded.
I just have this feeling that USFIV will somehow be slotted for the sunday finals lol. As long as it's not something like USFIV > SFV.![]()
I could see the final day looking like this: UMvC3 > MKX > USFIV > Melee > SFV. Marvel 3 is simply a bigger draw with viewers than Guilty Gear, so Xrd could be moved to the Saturday slot.
I just can't envision a scenario in which USFIV isn't on Sunday and close to last, especially not after blowing up in viewers at EVO.
I leave it to Capcom, but here are a couple options:I don't see room for 2 button dash in Street Fighter V. The game already has a bunch of two button commands (LP+LK is throw, MP+MK is V-skill, HP+HK is V-trigger and three punches is v-reversal). Maybe three kicks? I wonder if that would make dash/something option selects a thing?
If you don't mind, why do you have a problem with double tapping?
Every time I bring it up, someone mentions EX moves, but EX inputs are the same as Marvel super inputs, and Marvel never had a problem with the two overlapping. As long as there's a way to turn that option on or off, it seems like it should be there. Might be hard for SF V since EX-moves require two kicks / two punches (which I already shortcut using 3x PPP or 3x K's). Putting a two button dash might cause a lot of issues due to that.
Only thing I can think of is twitter / Capcom Unity post.
it should take marvel's slotbc they will be equally dead by then
But srsly, USF4 still has legs on it.

seriously though, fuck arrows not piercing bodies. i have lost so many games because of that
I get why two-button dash is nice in Marvel, but there's no such thing as wavedashing in SF4/SF5. Double-tapping a direction is the simplest input in the game next to, uh, tapping an input. You do more complicated stuff all the time if you're playing this game at anything beyond a complete newbie level. Come on. Practice.
I'm not saying CAPCOM DON'T DO THIS, I'm saying, dude, seriously, this is that big of a block for you? And your solution is "change this for me" rather than "I guess I need to grind this out"?

Man people talk about how execution barrier is not a big deal, are so damn full of it.
Learning fighting games sucks, and it's not just execution. There is so much shit built into the game to keep shit from getting to wild that it feels incredibly stuff just trying to do anything for the first time. There is recovery on everything, to chain stuff properly you either need to know when to buffer it, when the just frames for cancels are, or when recovery is up so you can link it at the right time. Otherwise it just feels unplayable. Not to mention it looks like ass too, you can easily tell very inexperienced players by how restrained their actions are.
The more experienced players find ways around that shit anyway, obviously by practicing all their links and cancels but then they find other shit like abusing special cancels and special moves with fast recovery, resetting internal timers and other shit.
Picking up a fighting game, hell picking up a new character sucks. You have to spend so much time just getting a feel for it, god damn.

Did you go to CEO by any chance? I think I might know you lol
i went to ceo 2012(?), it's pretty unlikely we've met as i don't travel out of state like ever
Don't worry someday someone will get to beat your rolento in person =P

my top 3 pick for best ultra street fighter player of all time
1. momochi
2. daigo
3. infiltration
come at me breh
I main Firebrand/Dormammu/Shuma-Gorath in Marvel. I have played thousands of matches double tapping in Marvel. I also play Street Fighter and Guilty Gear, and I have grinded the input. It is just hard for my muscles when I am double tapping to the right. The inward muscle motion feels awkward for me. If I am double tapping to the left, it isn't a problem. It's not an issue with muscle memory. I am 30 and have been playing since SFII. It's a physical limitation that I struggle with.I get why two-button dash is nice in Marvel, but there's no such thing as wavedashing in SF4/SF5. Double-tapping a direction is the simplest input in the game next to, uh, tapping an input. Not a big deal for you, but it is for me and Biz, and Apologyman has trouble with it despite thousands of hours of play with his main Marvel team.Well I dont know about other execution stuff, but double tapping to dash is definitely not a big deal.
If a Cody player wants to hold a punch button down for a special, that player can still double tap to dash. I agree that 2-button dashes are better and faster than double tapping. If there was a 2-button dash in the game there would be no tangible benefit to ever double-tapping due to it having higher execution time. In asking for double-tap dashing as an option you're basically asking to change it to that only. I don't really mind it either way but you're going to have to switch other functions around and possibly throw a few design choices out of the window like "hold-down button" specials such as Cody's zonk knuckle.
Outside of actual physical handicaps you only need to practice the motion the same way you practice clean special motions to get it down. It honestly doesn't take too long...I started playing SF4 with Ultra's launch on PC and I easily got all the basic execution down within a week or 2 with deliberate practice via training mode reps between matches.
Of course if you kind of winged motions all along and have janky inputs I can see where it's kind of a hassle. If double-tap dashing is such a hindrance for someone that just tells me they need to clean up their inputs overall.
You got a source on that? This is news to me.Wizard straight up said he doesnt want USF4 to be at Evo next year. If USF4 does make it, it'll be on Saturday at night

Even if USF4 could easily get 1,000+ players next year maybe it might be kicked out the door regardless to make way for its heir. Capcom could play a hand in this by not even including it in the 2016 CPT and having only SFV. That would give EVO more leverage to do this. Personally I want it for at least one more year. After all the years it has spent as the flagship game of EVO and the FGC, I think it deserves better than that.

looks like justin might have been on auto pilot this whole tournament. dude probably got used to easily taking out people before evo and though that would be good enough.Justin made a lot of questionable/bizarre decisions in that set. ChrisG himself wasn't even playing all that well either. Even in the last match in which ChrisG dominated, he dropped like 4 combos.
I'm gonna come at you breh and flip that list upside down. Infiltration-Daigo-Momochi
Momochi has won EVO and Capcom Cup. Infiltration has won EVO and 25th. Daigo has won two EVOs. Pretty even in that regard. I would weigh an EVO higher than a Capcom Cup for sure but at the same time Daigo's EVOs were when overall international participation was not yet as high.
I feel like Daigo has won more tournaments overall than Momochi, and Infiltration more than Daigo. Daigo has five top 8s at EVO, more than Momochi's 2. What puts Infiltration over the top are his four top _3_ finishes at EVO, his character diversity, and his year of utter dominance where nobody could touch him.
(caveat: I think I'm becoming an Infiltration fanboy)
Marvel sadly got treated like shit at Evo
