Street Fighter V Beta Thread: Welcome, future '16ers! (Currently Inactive!)

Cant figure out a good AA for Birdie for tight jump-in pressure. He sort of has one where you have to hold down any punch for a few and let go but can't implement it so far.

Stand strong seems like it might work, atleast from how the animation looks.

I'm also not mad about making sure big streamers have access if that's even what's going on. I want the high level players to be testing this game every chance they can get.

Then why is Max getting in :P

i bet you anything one day we will find out there was a separate build of the beta that was given out to streamers/friends that gave you priority on connect
What? If the whitelist is happening it's server side. There's no way there's a separate client.

Its funny, I got in the first time but ever since its been aggressively shutting me out lol. This sucks. This couldve been handled better.

To people asking why we're complaining about falling to get into a stress test -

It's no longer a stress test. Capcom has clearly just gave up and decided to allow select people in for marketing.

We're pissed because this was supposed to be our chance to FINALLY get hands-on of the game we watched for HOURS on E3 streams and various vids.

And now, it's turned into just another glorified marketing campaign. Instead of getting hands on like we were promised, we're suppose to feel privileged that we can watch these big name FGCers play instead.

I love Max, I'm watching his stream right now, and without him, I would never have gotten into fighting games, but I'm still pissed all to hell about this entire situation.

And the worst thing is Capcom is refusing to acknowledge it, acting like the people who can't get in like you or me are in the minority. They're more focused on helping the 1% of fans get more matches than allowing the rest of us the chance to even LOG THE F IN.

BUT HEY THANKS FOR PRE-ORDERING.

This is the crux of it. The same people who've been at all of the major events and got to try the game out at those, are being put ahead of everyone else in being allowed into this botched stress test because it'll make for some nice media to salvage from what has been a car crash.

except it's not JUST privileged folks getting in.

Max and others may have the hook up but others are getting in too...Plus there will be other betas too.

People losing their shit over a beta in here is a sight to watch

it was a promotion to pre-order witch i did i paid $60 to PSN already, 99% of the people spamming the beta trying to login got their code from amazon and then shortly after cancelled

this is a issue of capcom not having enough servers to handle the load of a OPEN beta witch is what this has turned into due to their own ignorance

lol people are serious about this whitelist shit

I mean, it's probably true. I find it hard to believe that the biggest streamer just happens to have very little trouble to get in multiple times today, while the vast majority of people seem to struggle getting in even once or twice.

BUT HEY THANKS FOR PRE-ORDERING.

IT is a beta, they are finding bugs and are fixing them.
This is what beta is for,
I am sure that they are so sorry that they did not just leave these issues until launch day so that you could get to play the game early.
And do not give some bullshit about pre-ordering.
Very few places charge your card before shipping, so you did not pay jack nor shit.
Many people pre-ordered from the easiest of places and then canceled their pre-order for codes and also to have multiple codes.
If you are a FAN or if you are a SUPPORTER of the FGC you would want this game to be the very best that it can be when it is released.
If you just want to be one of the first to play it so you can blog on your Facebook about how cool you are, it is not for you.
More people are getting in, and more will get in and they will continue expanding and they will extend it. They have already confirmed this.

Ok fair enough dicks is wrong word to use, I like max because he seems down to earth like most of the people I hang with and not an elitist? Right words. Chalk it up to foot in mouth syndrome. But when I watched evo streams I just felt like.....nope not for me. I like explanations from max's videos.

could it be that you only think that way because max is the only fgc personality that you can name

Went 0-200 against 21007 today so far.

I'm in the midwest and I've got nothing. I see Maxamilian is in and playing against people. So it's working for some.

I am getting an odd error now and then about the game having been updated and to log out and back in, but when I log out it says that it is fully updated.
Most of the time though it is the usual errors

This is a big part of it. I'm lucky because I preordered during E3 (In Canada, games are now 80 bucks for some reason now, even though our dollar isn't THAT weak. Despite this, SF5 was it's regular 59.99 during E3 for Canada, so I'm only getting it at that price).

But I know people who have paid 80 bucks on PSN for it (Including a friend who was on the fence of it who I convinced, specifically for this beta. THAT I feel pretty bad about). And you CAN'T get a refund from Sony, unless you want your PSN banned.

Some people paid good money, REALLY early, on faith and excitement for this beta. And it is NOT working out. A lot of people have every right to be pissed.

That's kinda your own fault there.

1. This is Capcom. Shit will be fucked.
2. This is a beta....shit will be fucked

So there was a high chance that shit would be fucked..so going with the "free" option to get into the beta probably was the better choice, no?

Doesn't absolve Capcom of this fuckery but its not that serious if this fuckery is put to good use down the line when the actual product releases.

This seems to be the heart of the matter. There was no limiting mechanism to keep the amount of beta testers to a managable amount for the first test. You should have had to actually pay for the pre-order or have a deadline for signing up or a certian limit on the number of people who could qualify.

Been watching Max's stream for a while and I've seen him log out and log in 3 times like its a retail release. I don't have a problem with it because I enjoy watching the gameplay but it is for sure happening.

I have no shame. Pretty livid. I think I have a right to be too, like everyone else that this has pissed off of a bit, but continue to be smug, I guess.

If this was the launch of the game, sure. That would be completely understandable but it's not. Its the first beta that's going to have more after. I haven't had a one match in 3 days up until this point and slowly but surely I've been getting into the game just like others are.

Does it suck that the servers are fucking up now? Absolutely but I would rather it happened now and them sorting out the situation than this happening on launch day but let me be smug though.
