I'm not obsessed or unimpressed with Phil. All I know is in 2013 I never thought I'd purchase an Xbox One and this year I've never been happier with a console. Let's enjoy games

And they are quick to post that for people just saying the dude didn't say shit (which is a fact). It is getting borderline astroturfing at times.

It's as much hyperbole as calling him "deeply dishonest", "PR person", someone who uses a lot of "empty words" and saying that every Phil Spencer response is "pretty much nothing" and that he uses "corporate speak to fool lots of people".

when using the Universal app platform. Like 4 cores and 50% of the GPU..
So? In 2013 a lot of people with Halo avatars bought PS4's instead of the Xbox One.

Well this is rubbish. Hes delivered ALOT for X1 and unlike other execs engages with fans 1 on 1. Hes responsible for Crackdown, Scalebound, Rare replay, Killer instinct, paywall being removed from XBL, lots of new features (screen shot, mkv playback), less focus on kinect, premium controller, new dash, PC focus and so much more.

Look, does Spencer get a little too much praise and credit? Sure. He's not the second coming, and he's not going to make everybody's wishes come true.
But there's a point where reasonable skepticism transitions into unreasonable pessimism and negativity, and I think we've passed that a long time ago on this subject. Man can't make a tweet without a thread, and that thread will inevitably be filled with people going "gee, that Phil Spencer, what a lying sack of crap, just saying what people want to hear." It's exhausting to read through.

I agree. The guy who said Spencer is deeply dishonest or whatever is out of line. But my point is that it's so pointless to make threads about non-answers.
People are speculating on the DQXI thread that because Shuhei Yoshida responded to the DQXI announcement in english that it must be a hint that it will be localized. But at least no one made a thread about it.
I don't see any way possible for them to shut down Live for 360 now that they are going to have full backwards compatibility with Xbox One. Maybe at end of Xbox One's life they shut it down.

I cant see them unlocking the 360 for a long time if ever. Maybe after the next gen system is out. But that would allow piracy and hacks on xbl and such. MS can still bank roll on xbox 360 titles since some will be made backwards compatible for xbox one. Hell i can see MS creating a marketplace store just for 360 titles that are BC for the xbox one.

No I think some people legitimately think him going "We will think about this" is borderline confirmation of the thing in question happening. If you go to previous Phil Spencer tweet threads whenever people go "this is vague, we can't make anything of this" there are people who respond in some way similar to "I'll choose to believe this"

A lot of Xbox fans swore off the brand after the whole reveal debacle, but came back after they righted the ship.
I don't know why this warranted a thread though. The Phil Spencer and Xbox hate is a little much in this topic over what is essentially just a dude from Xbox engaging with a fan. We all should know by now that Spencer likes to engage with fans over social media, whether it's a real answer or just talking about something. That's what he does.

I think the poor guy is doing the best he can with what he inherited.
I do think if Phil gets a fresh start with a new console then he will really be able to do some amazing things for the Xbox division.

The guy gives vague approving responses to 100 game and feature requests a day. At some point one of them is bound to happen. At this point he's probably made a response for pretty much every Xbox IP and feature request.
