Gamescom: Microsoft press conference (August 4; Scalebound, Crackdown, QB, H5+ more)

I think they would save forge for the RTX con since Rooster Teeth uses forge in their RVB videos and such, plus it be a bit more relaxed than gamescon. Who knows.
IIRC, the episodes are only in game and play depending upon your actions. Sam Lake likened it to the comics in Max Payne, just a different format. There was never a stand alone show.

Actually... this is my final guess on the Halo announcement.
The Halo announcement will be monthly tounys online. It's all on dedicated servers, so why not?
More people will be able to win in different type of gametype tournys. Winning easy money would bring in more people no?
Tournys even in Single Player. Scores with specific Skulls, with specific amount of rules and etc. They can always change it up or even repeat or whatever.
Tournys in Arena and Breakout. 2v2, 4v4, 5v5 or whatever. Snipes, no power weapons and etc. I'm not sure about Warzone because of the Req packs including weapons to be unlocked at a specific level and the size of teams.
Winnings cold be as low as $25 xbox store credit and up to a prize pool of $1,000,000. I'm sure people would be more involved in the game if they had that kinda of reward for doing tournies like that.
Kicker: Buying Req packs help increase the pool. lol

I am not 100% sure why they are scared/worried about giving the Forge Community some actual tools to play with.
Looking back at the days of Doom, Quake, Unreal etc, it was kept alive by mapping and modding tools. 343 wants Halo to thrive? Give the community tools to help with that.

I am unbelievably excited for this conference considering I don't have an Xbox one. Crackdown was one of my all time favourites on 360, Scalebound is Platinum (and most importantly, has dragons), Sea of Thieves might well be Rare doing Rare (and most importantly, has pirates).
Sunset Overdrive got me interested in the One and MCC was supposed to tip me over the edge. Dragons and Pirates? I may as well just pick one up now.
Plus, and this is not meant in a disrespectful way at all, I expect Microsoft's conference to be released of the shackles that having a competitor conference to compare to can result in. They have things to show, no distractions, I'm HYPED!

It would be a great incentive to get players into the game and keep the player base extremely high. Also it allows them to be very close to their community of players. My only concern would be the money to fund such a tournament. I think just having tournaments online similar to Basetrade TV does for starcraft 2 would be amazing.
Not sure you're really appreciating how much bigger a deal this would be than an actual new Phantom Dust.

Absolutely. Forge in H3 and Reach spurred hundreds of great maps, gametypes, mini-games, Grifball, obstacle courses, all kinds of creative stuff. A lot of it was dumb, but even the dumb stuff was fun to a lot of people and gave the games even more longevity. Expanding that toolset is vital to Halo's continued success, and a custom games browser would just be taking it to a whole new level of awesome.

They have been saying they'll be announcing some new things as well. The magnitude of said things though are TBA.

Honestly with backwards compatability now they might just bundle the game with Quantum Break pre orders rather than doing a remaster. Just what im thinking will happen.

That survey went out after they got BC working (Phil said early 2015), so I reckon there will be a remaster still if we're going by that.

I'd love to see, in addition to Forge on PC, is the ability to make singleplayer or co-op modes ala DOOM SnapMap. The sandbox in Halo is probably way too big to make those kind of tools feasible but I can still dream...
