It's the stereotypical, blueprint bad sequel. It's not the worst example, but one of the earlier examples of a studio just cashing in completely.

GB II is barely a good film, let alone better than a classic.
The remake will not likely supersede the original but I'd say it has a definitely good chance of being better than GB II

I think this film actually has a good chance of being fantastic. Feig just gets better and better every outing (Spy was a brilliant comedy), he clearly cares about the project (giving specs and blueprints for fans to make their own gear) and the cast clearly have a lot of heart and soul (to see that sign and just show up full gear during a break from what is likely a pretty exhausting shoot is just so awesome)

which hospital did he visited prior GOTG global success though? Honest question. I haven't heard of that.

Ghostbusters II wasn't one of the worst movies I've seen, nor is it one of the worst sequels ever made. But it is a complete paint by numbers sequel that recycles the entire formula of the first movie and repositions itself for a younger audience who were fans of the cartoon series. It lacks the spontaneity of the original, even Bill Murray completely phoned in his performance. You can tell that he wasn't feeling it. GBII was also one of the most marketed movies of 1989 outside of Tim Burton's Batman. It was a Hollywood marketing machine of its day.
There are still some things I like about GBII, but it will never be as good as the original. I think this reboot/ remake has a chance to be a much better movie all around. But we will have to wait and see.
Won't lie... the soundtrack was one of my favorite things about the sequel.

But if you want your opinion to mean a fucking thing it might be worth, like, maybe a quick skim of like, the last page or two before you hop into the conversation. To at least get a sense of where it is you're coming in at.
Again - I realize it's not your JOB to pay attention to the conversation you're entering. But the questions you're asking have been answered on this very page. They're in Boston. The movie is filming in Boston. News stations in Boston have been covering the filming of this movie - in Boston. The kids are familiar with the concept of "Ghostbusters" and are excited that there's a Ghostbusters movie filming - in Boston. So they care about having Ghostbusters, who they're seeing on the news quite a bit in Boston, visiting their hospital, where they spend their lives.
Are you somehow trying to denigrate the anticipation levels of hospitalized children here? I'm not quite sure what it is you're doing.

It's literally "something cool is happening outside, I understand what it is and why it is cool, it would be cool if the cool thing over there would happen in here." Seriously, people are doing some pretty interesting hoop-jumping trying to downplay this. I hate to say it - your Ghostbusters are retired. Ask kids who their favourite Ghostbuster is in a year, and they'll say McKinnon, not Murray.
