Gamescom: Microsoft press conference (August 4; Scalebound, Crackdown, QB, H5+ more)

Pretty excited for Gamescom. I thought MS nailed it at E3 with plenty of crowd pleasing moments. BC is an absolute system seller for parents of young'uns looking to pester them this Xmas (So son, all your games will work on this new one too? Well, that's the one you're getting then).

...but Gamescom also has some great stuff coming up.

QB is my kind of game, so looking forward to that. I have no idea if I'll like Scalebound, but that interests me. I missed Crackdown first time around but loved the art style in the trailer.

Hopefully we'll get a couple of surprises too. Battletoads must be coming soon, considering how heavily it's being trailed. It'd be nice to see a new IP or two. I guess one of these will be an indie style game and one a more triple AAA offering.

I'm of a different mind: I wonder if the destructibility won't end up making the exploration bits, the best part of Crackdown, more generic than it should be.

I'm probably the only person that would be happy if the plan for Crackdown 3 was parred down from the cloud-based mega-destruction into something more akin to a well-designed, fun to explore city with fun collectibles to get.

I still don't see how they can make both work at the same time.

I'd like to see them figure out how to do both... My guess is, the agent's destructive capabilities will grow overtime...just like his/her other attributes.... That way, they player will have done a bunch of exploration before they have the ability to level massive buildings...

Also, collectables might be unobtainable of the building they are on is leveled... Then you might have to wait until it's rebuilt.

Everyone is missing the point Gamescom.

Microsoft could reveal Windows 10 for Xbox.

That's the thing I'm expecting the most to be honest. After teasing it at E3 with the video of the new dashboard and Cortana, and now that the main Win10 is out, they have no reason not to show more of the console version.
I'm curious about Crackdown more from a technical perspective (the whole cloud thing), even if I loved the first one. And a few more non-AAA games would be welcome.

You mean a full Windows 10? I think we get a blown up W10 Xbox App running natively on the One. A full Windows 10 would be a megaton though and would mean you have a full PC hooked up to your TV.

'and its available now for preview members and available next month for everyone'

Please make this happen MS. All these updates on my Xbox One must be for something ;)

Trinest means the new Dashboard at least that's what I think he's talking about.

I think everything is possible with Platinum, they've shown they can be very efficient at following tight budget and deadlines, but then maybe MS wants to give them time to polish a new IP...

Platinum is super quick in making games and in an interview they said MS helping them let them make progress faster than usual. Q1 2016 is not out of the question.

As far as we know they have been aiming for 2016 since last year. Spring 2016 was the leak

I can believe the game releasing next year, but no way in Q1. We're only just seeing it for the first time tomorrow.

I think August is a good place to put Scalebound.

Scalebound = August
Forza = September
Crackdown = October
Gears = November

That's a pretty solid end of the year line up.

Don't know where to put it.

Win10 IS coming to Xbox one... The question is when...

And no, I doubt it will be full Win10 (you won't be able to download Steam for example), but it should be able to run any Universal apps...

I think Crackdown or Scalebound will be earlier in the year, to go along with Quantum Break and Recore.

I think that's highly unrealistic, its way to packed for the beginning of the year and as we know MS like a good strong holiday lineup. ReCore and QuantumBreak, maybe a remaster will be the first half of the year.

I think both Crackdown and Scalebound will be fall title which is way more realistic imo.

Im talking Jan-Aug. Scalebound Q1, Recore Spring, and Quantum Break during Summer. I dont think that is unrealistic at all.

Definitely not Recore since we haven't seen any gameplay and it won't be at Gamescom. If they do release it next year it will be after E3 or Gamescom where they have shown Gameplay.

I would personally shift Quantum Break and Scalebound, but in general I think a lot of people will be surprised at just how fast and furious some of these games will be hitting.

All three will be out before E3 next year.

Ms usually likes to have 3-4 games for the the fall/ holiday.

Most likely those will be Crackdown, gears 4 and horizon 3. I really think Ms learned their lesson with Sunset iverdrive and releasing a new up in the fall.

So I can easily see

1st half 2016
- Scalebound: March
- Quantum Break : March-May
- Recore : June

2nd Half
-Forza Horizon: September
- Crackdown: October
- Gears 4: November

Getting so pumped for this! It is amazing to see how much Microsoft has been, and continues to show off for the Xbox One. Almost night/day compared to late gen 360.

What if Microsoft gets valve on stage to announce half life 3 to counter the FF7/Shenmue 3 announcements at sonys e3? How crazy would that be?

There's already a faster re-designed dashboard incoming so I don't think those plans will change. It could be more compatible in terms of Window's 10 apps though.
