Congrats, now you can be even more frustrated in ranks when your team ignores the objective lol.
Modes switch every 4 hours, although it will repeat once in a while to make sure modes the next day won't be the same as the day before (I might be wrong, I barely touch ranked).

Don't understand how you could ever think kills are meaningless. Every second the enemy spends dead is a second they aren't inking. The best teams are a mix of assassins and inkers.
Ink mines get you all the kills you need.

Finish the single player so you have a solid skill base and then join SplatGAF in battle. It might be discouraging to do so earlier because it's an absolute bloodbath in there.

I mained Aerospray before I became a sniper convert. They most definitely do not.
It's kinda funny how GAF's brushers/those that mess with them casually work honestly. I actually feel like I can group them into categories now.
Hyper Offense: Crayolan, BitStyle, SM239
Jack-of-all-trades: DaBoss, Emil, Zero^2
Defensive: Kevin (Triforce141) (probably the only one on GAF that is good at getting in and out of trouble faultlessly)
I honestly want to know how much of it was them expecting modest success because Wii U and how much of it was just them liking the idea and going with it because "why not".
I still remember when I was a fledgling squid joining GAF rooms for the first time thinking "yeah, I'll totally support the team! I'll cover all these areas while they fight" only to watch a match that literally looked like a technicolor version of the beach scene from Saving Private Ryan unfold in front of me on Blackbelly Skatepark. It was at that exact moment when I thought to myself "kill everything on sight."

If you play in low-level rooms you can win just by out-inking the enemy because nobody's good at defending, if they even try.

GAF rooms are seriously impressive. I was a decent player before, but I've been playing with GAF for two days and already feel like I've improved hugely.
As a charger, there are those times where there is an aerospray walking in a straight line shooting as he goes, and you really should take the free as hell shot on the octoling-ai motherfucker. But when you are below the skillfloor in terms of aiming, you miss and are a detriment to your team.
CHARGERS ARE USELESS IN TURF WAR. CONFIRMED.
There is literally no reason to play charger unless you're griefing.
Yeah when I first started out I would only play in gaf rooms when I was in the mood for it because otherwise it always seemed like I was the worst player in the room and was, well, a detriment to my team. Once I started playing almost exclusively with you guys I feel like I've gotten a whole lot better and now only feel like a detriment on blackbelly and triggerfish lol

Oh but the weapons themselves are a detriment I suppose.

So we now have a team of 8 people for the ink or sink tourney, sorry if anyone else wanted in(but I don't think so)!. Does someone know a good slow chat-ish client that we can use? It's kinda annoying sending the same PM to everyone 7 other people and it's almost impossible to all be on irc at the same time. I know there is Skype, but I'm not the biggest fan of it.
Edit: Also can't wait until the update, so we don't all have to queue to get into a GAF lobby

Sometimes I shoot at my teammates feet when they're in a fight and I'm not in a position to help directly, so that they can preserve their mobility. I wonder if they realize what I'm doing, or if they think I'm an idiot.
I haven't really straight up shot at players on my own team much, but I have gotten killed by enemy rollers that I thought were on my team because their roller was covered in our ink.
If there's only one GAF lobby and there are 10 people, you will probably have to wait going by Mario Kart 8.
Though I feel that won't happen unless it is at odd hours for people to play.
Hm yeah, hadn't thought about that yet. Hopefully the August update brings all the old players out hiding and attracts new players for more rooms.

I've just hit level 20 now, so I'll get to enjoy being Max Level very briefly.
I've tried other guns here and there, mostly chargers, but it's my destiny to be a Custom Splattershot Jr. user. When the friend matches update drops I'll hopefully get around to playing more matches with people here.

Is there a graph telling us how many points we win in ranked depending on the letter grade of the people in the lobby, like 7 A+ and 1 B+ = -12 points to the losers?
idk, but they are rebalancing it. Its pretty sily though. I would win 10 points as an A+, B, B+, B+, vs 4 B+

I hope it's a good rebalance, becuase there better be decent compensation for having a team mate disconnect into thin air during the match and still losing the full 10 points in a 8 A+ lobby.
Which reminds me, I have a series of me being a detriment and griefing to put up now. There's also a fun moment where Inquisitive nails me with yet another anti-air snipe that set me off on the path of carnage in the Splatterscope playlist.
