Microsoft Gamescom 2015 Conference

I gotta say...they aren't lying. Besides Tomb Raider not 1st party (and maybe Gigantic)...this is definitely a great lineup of games.

And that doesn't include Halo Wars

i didn't like the original halo wars
maybe because i hate RTS

probably lmao

...... You cannot be serious. I mean it was good but I don't think it's blowing anyone away. Especially with the Esports and the DVR and the Tomb Raider gameplay. There were definitely highlights but there were some definite lows.

DVR is a huge feature a ton of people wanted and they are reviving the eSports scene for Halo. Both were definitely acceptable.

Well damn, and I thought 2015 was stacked, but 2016 is looking mighty nice

2016:
Quantum Break (XB1)
Halo Wars 2 (XB1/WIN10)
Sea of Thieves (XB1/WIN10)
ReCore (XB1)
Scalebound (XB1)
Crackdown (XB1)
Killer Instinct Season 3 (XB1/WIN10)
Gears 4 (?) (XB1)
Forza Horizon 3 (?)

Time to start preparing for delays and the inevitable 2017 hype train! Choo Choo!

I'm still riding that Halo Wars 2 high.

Some of my favorite XBL memories came from playing that game with my bros back in the day.

Just hope they aren't going FTP with it.

Where are the moderators.. there is a lot of irrational hate and trolling in this thread an no one is doing something... this is a perfect time to clean this foro from those toxic sony fans that are affecting gaf reputation.
So busy asking if he could and never stopped to ask if he should call for mods.

Halo Wars 2 on PC is nice, but if MS really wanted to show their commitment to PC gamers, MCC on PC would've been the better choice IMO.

I liked most of what I saw. Really pumped about Halo Wars 2. Going to wait to pass judgement of most of the titles until after e3 next year. 2016 could be a fun year.

It was a very interesting conference and some rather cool games, but if this was a push to make European gamers more interested in the console... I dunno, didn't really hit it for me.

Then again I already have a PS4 so maybe I am the totally wrong target audience.

I am interested in Halo Wars 2 though.. Yes I am one of those :P

I don't get the excitement around CA doing Halo Wars 2. I loved Rome and Medieval II to bits, but since then CA has been on a streak of "mediocre-to-okay" games.

he might not be wrong...i can't recall any super memorable gamescom ms moments off the top of my head

How is Dvr a negative.

Are people seriously moaning about the DVR and TV streaming bit? For fuck's sake. It's a cool feature, and they couldn't have made the segment any shorter.

Halo is their premier exclusive though. It would be like Sony putting Uncharted on PC, or God of War.

Would be kinda cool, but I really don't think it will happen. Halo Wars 2 on PC is awesome though, and a natural fit being an RTS.

Microsoft really needs to work on showing good demos of their games, which Sony is ace at (Horizon and Uncharted 4 demos are still amazing to look at). But if you overlook their presentation skills or decisions, the games look extremely solid through 2016. Crackdown 3 looks incredibly fun with the destructible environments, but I have doubts they'll make 2016 if they're still showing pre-alpha footage. And Scalebound looks to have great mechanics and JRPG elements to my personal liking... I'm getting Phantasy Star Online vibes, which gets me giddy. I don't play KI, but congrats on having a Season 3 for those who do. I have no doubt with Quantum Break as I loved Max Payne and Alan Wake, and I like the surprisingly new cast. Still looking for ReCore gameplay and was hoping for more Sea of Thieves or a new IP, but overall a pretty good briefing if you ignore the somewhat lackluster presentation.

Yeah I think they'll keep struggling if they think they can just push football/soccer and PC features to attract European gamers. The market is more complex than that.
Also there's a big market in Europe for non-conventional, quirky games. Where were those ?

I'm not either, but I don't recall a thread when Sony have a conf that has this amount of shit talking, it is super annoying as I just wanted to hear the positives and what was being shown not EW OR THIS IS TRASH at everything, I own all the consoles, but I feel the bias here every time a conference comes about and it's just a shitty way to go about things that the sole PS4 owners go around dick whacking a thread every chance they get, whilst trying to be oh so secret about it.

Well I own a PS4 and an Xbox One too, the Xbox One was actually my first choice going into next gen and honestly I really find their lineup lackluster, couple that with the fact the console doesn't keep up in terms of power, they didn't do shit with Kinect 2.0, it's understandable some of us are disappointed.

When they first showed Quantum Break, I was excited but game is taking too long to come and it's losing some of it's shine, I'm glad the TV show is still in and that they got solid actors but they keep showing shooting gameplay sections, with way too many special effects going on, not really my thing.
I have no interest for Fifa Ultimate Team, Halo franchise, Dark Souls games, and Scalebound looked awful so that doesn't leave much to be excited for.

Crackdown destruction was good though, wondering if the framerate will hold up during all that destruction.

DVR is a huge feature a ton of people wanted and they are reviving the eSports scene for Halo. Both were definitely acceptable.

Acceptable is a far cry from "best ever" though. Like I said it was a solid conference but I don't think it qualifies as "the best Xbox games conference ever" like the quoted poster stated.

he might not be wrong...i can't recall any super memorable gamescom ms moments off the top of my head

He said games conference not Gamescom conference though. At least I thought he did maybe I misread.

He definitely edited it before I quoted it didn't read that way before.

Pretty decent conference. Beginning was great. Middle was kind of blah, and the end was decent.

2016 Lineup

Quantum Break
ReCore
Killer INstinct Season 3
Sea of Thieves
Crackdown
Scalebound (OMG btw)
Gears of War 4
Halo Wars 2
And More TBA

Stacking their line up

Plus more yet to be announced and normal 3rd parties hitting, may have to buy 2 more xbox ones due to mass overload lol

Good Conference overall.

I honestly did not like the eSports thing, waste of time and should of shown more campaign footage - Halo 5 will be awesome (hopefully).

- Wish there was more Crackdown shown, it looks great.
- ScaleBound Looks really good aside the Framerate and janky shit my draws run animation, thought it's a Platinum game. I am not worried...this files a nice void in MS 1st Party imo.
- Solid showcase of 3rd party games.
- Indie stuff looks cool, I like the preview program they are doing.
- Halo Wars 2, great closing on that...I prematurely bashed them for not closing out on a
boom.
- QB....that shit looks amazing, the effects are gorgeous, day fucking one.
- KI Season 3 is lovely.

Overall good conference - could of been better but MS is getting better at this. Lots of great games coming to the platform.

7.5/10

So if nothing gets delayed, it seems we would get:
Crackdown 3
Scalebound
Quantum break
Halo Wars 2
Gears 4
Recore
Sea of thrives
Forza Horizon 3 (probably)

And all in a single year! That is incredibly impressive from a first party publishing standpoint, though I feel like at least one of those will get pushed back a year.

Note: I am not trying to compare exclusive lineups to other platforms, just comenting on how much they have coming along in the pipe.

Edit: Also just gotta say that WOW, QB and Scalebound really delivered with what they showed. Can't wait to get my hands on each!

Something of note, was there 1 European MS boss on stage? They were all Americans. Does MS not have any local guys like Jim Ryan or Shahid Ahmad?

...... You cannot be serious. I mean it was good but I don't think it's blowing anyone away. Especially with the Esports, FIFA microtransaction discount, the DVR and the Tomb Raider gameplay. There were definitely highlights but there were some definite lows.

What was a better Gamescom for Xbox?
How is Esports a negative?
How was EA Access a negative?
How was DVR a negative?

I can agree on Tomb Raider, but that is still not that much of a low.

I'd have to agree.

Quantum Break
Scalebound
Recore
Gears 4
HALO WARS 2!!!
Crackdown 3
Forza (probably Horizon 3)

Plus if you got a PS4 you get to enjoy:

The Last Guardian
Uncharted 4
Horizon

Going to be such an amazing year for exclusives.

Pass on Uncharted, never really a fan. But other than that sign me up for everything on that list!!!

Quantum Break (April)
ReCore (Spring)
Killer INstinct Season 3 (March)
Sea of Thieves (Holiday)
Crackdown (N/A)
Scalebound (Holiday)
Gears of War 4 (Holiday)
Halo Wars 2 (N/A)
And More TBA

Gears 4 and Halo Wars 2 are definitely Holiday, but I think Crackdown and Scalebound need to find some way earlier in the year.

Personal opinion: people are super starved for a AAA rts that isn't SC2 or the latest shit C&C from EA. I know I am.

You're probably right about that one. RTS market has seemed barebones of late. I will probably pick this up on pc, only played the first a bit but it seemed good
