UK here; generally as the less aggressive, slightly nicer America.

No idea if that's true. (I doubt that's really that true; just the American right wing being very vocal).
 
I've lived in the UK all my life, but my Father's side of the family (except him) moved to Canada over 30 years ago. I have an aunt, uncle, three cousins, three cousin-in-laws and six cousins-once-removed that all live in Canada, from Montreal to Brockville and beyond to Vancouver.

I've spent anywhere from two weeks to ten weeks at a time when visiting and not once have I not enjoyed any part of it. The weather has been good regardless of season, the scenery is great, food is amazing and the people are lovely (bar when I visited Quebec City, everyone there just seemed standoffish and arrogant, but I've only visited Quebec City once so I can't make an informed judgement).

TL;DR Canada is pretty awesome, I'd love to live there myself.

It's in my top 3 for places I'd like to live. As an european, my impression of Canada is that it's pretty much the USA without the nonsense.
 
Never been to Canada.

I think the first I ever heard of Canada was as a child, when there was a travel comercial in the early 90's. It showed the national flag at the end and I thought "that's a nice looking flag!".

Today? Looking Google Earth it's HUGE with lots of lakes and forest.

It happened to me when I went to Minnesota. I think it's worse in America because they use paper for their dollars and it gets super wrinkly and gross.

Ice caps and cheap donuts/timbits are the only good thing to come from it, the other "meal" type food is awful. And the service is always the slowest...
 
Like the US but colder, and boringer, but all-around much better.

As a New Englander, I personally feel more kinship with Canada than with most of America.
 
I've had the pleasure of visiting 7 or 8 times and it's a great country. You should be proud. America could learn a lot about how to treat people from Canadians. I think the "Canadian insecurity" is coming from being so close to America's bellicose culture and self-belief in American exceptionalism (which is complete bullshit). Do your thang, Canada. If it was just a little sunnier and warmer I would have moved there years ago.
 
Well I live in Texas and I think I've played too many grand strategy games but when I'm mentally listing off countries, Canada is like number 17 or so. I kinda lump it in together with Australia and New Zealand as places that used to say "UK" across it.

Past that it seems like a nice enough place, don't hear much about it other than the whole oil trouble that they're having right now. The UK, Germany, Russia, and China all seem to pop up in the news a whole lot more.

I enjoyed it but its definitely a light piece and isn't trying to really say anything important.

Ironically it does feel like it was made for Canadians, even though he specifically says he made it for non Canadians.
 
I'm surprised at so many responses like, "A less worse US."

I think Canada and US probably share some similarities but Canada is a state with its own identity. Why do so many people define it by a comparison to its neighbor?

French Vanillas are great. Ice caps are gross though. The donuts are pretty good. All in all, Tim Hortons is better than $tarbucks.

It's a place I always wanted to live. And still, I kinda like Canada(knew some Canadians and they are some of the best peeps I've ever known). But, hearing about the recession, I might put off any thoughts about dreaming about living there.
 
Seems like a great place, all the Canadians I've met were great folks. And they liberated us in WW2 which is also pretty cool, thanks Canada!
 
I live somewhat near the border. I've been to Niagara Falls, and Toronto more times than I can count.

Culturally, not too different compared to the U.S. ....or at least the Southern Ontario area/Toronto area isn't too different from the Northeast U.S.

I feel like if I had to for some reason I could easily move and live in Toronto or the surrounding area ...infact I'd probably experience more of a culture shock if I moved to a few places in the U.S. South

Canada, it's weird The Queen is on your money.
 
A place to visit extended family, if they care to see me.

Don't really have much attachment to the culture, the ethnic culture there is about the same here in the US.

Well he knew his crowd and played towards it. It was well received by the audience. The guy was there for a QA round and some people did bring up the lack of insight it provided.

Lacking in having its own unique culture, slightly boring, but more friendly than many parts of America. Also better educated and more worldy than average Americans
 
All the Canadians I know are cool people. Very smart too. One of my best friends is Canadian and I trust her opinion on games more than most of my local friends.

Stay cool, CanadaGAF. You'll get over that timbit shortage, just you see.
