Dark Souls 3 Trailer (Gamescom 2015)

I'm so glad they went back to single-blow backstab.

I wonder, with all that fire spreading, if we'll be in a reversed situation: it is the age of darkness that is ending, and we are given the choice to prolong it or help re-igniting a new age of fire.
I don't get the vibe of a crepuscular world form the trailer; even if we were once again at the conclusion of the age of fire, it would seem a much later stage than DkS1 (everything looks much deader, bonfires have disappeared too).

Many of the great bosses in the series fall under that catergory. Its usally the crazy looking shit like Gaping Dragon or The One Reborn that are shit. Its pretty much giant dudes (S&O, Artorias, Alonne, Fume, Allant, Ivory King, Logarius) or surprisingly agile four legged creatures (Watchdog, Kalameet, Sinh, Guardian)

You forgot one four legged beast. Aava and the Tiger Twins.

so that was Xbox One footage right? Can't wait to see some PC footage :)
PC footage? Seems politically correct to me. With Dark Souls, we didn't see a black dragon until the DLC, but here we have a black dragon right in the first gameplay clip. We've come so far since Kalameet! We even got a plus-sized skeleton, instead of the usual anorexic skeletons that cause body image issues among young skeletons.

edit: oh you mean computers

Holy aliasing crawl in that cathedral, but everything else looks so good. A lot of the environments were reminiscent of Bloodborne, and the rolls/dodges looked really fast and light despite the character's armor.

Fucking love their boss designs - they hit that perfect blend of unsettlingly creepy and cool.

Anyone know if the PC release is slated for the same as consoles (or within the same month)?

Yeah that slow and clunky combat from Dks 1 and 2 are not missed after Bloodborne. Glad to see they're evolving the combat. We will never look back again after this.

I like how the enemy didn't get stuck in the "OMG I'm getting stabbed!!!" animation the moment the player initiated the backstab. Gives me hope that they're not canned animation and enemies can dodge/avoid them?!

Would really hate the return of the classic mid combat backstabs.

Looks good, hope we get a decent vertical slice to check out sometime soon. Hopefully the image doesn't look as washed out once it starts to near release.

Only got to play it for about 15 minutes. Enemies included knights who where quite deadly compared to the undead and some kind of monster that was formed from praying undead, killed it with firebombs. I found a broadsword, twin rapiers and a shortsword. Game feels like DS, not BB. IQ wasn't as good as in BB (due to multiplatform or early development). You had a block and if you held bottom trigger you entered a parry looking stance from where you could special attacks. This button was contextual depending on what weapon you used.

Dragons were dead and some alive breathing fire and killing mobs. In addition to bonfires I lit a small grave on fire maybe an alternative bonfire?

Cool. This sounds like exactly the same demo (area) as was at E3, I hope we get some footage soon!

Of course, game felt tight and the area was huge. Like in BB you could see really far into the level and it was quite vertical too.

I haven't played DS games before so I don't know what powerstance means, when I held down a trigger the guy entered a stance and then attack buttons activated slower, more powerful attacks. Trigger1 had light attack and 2 had a charge attack like in BB.

Power stance let you dual wield certain weapons together, was bad ass. For instance, 2 massive GReatswords or Giant Clubs
