'...so we have to build a wall.'

5 minutes of cheering and chanting 'Trump'.

This is getting scary.

American Gaffers, please vote against this joker. Don't sit this one out.

I'm going to vote for him so he can win the Republican Nomination. And then Hillary will mop the floor with him in the General Election.

I hope he wins a plurality of the delegates, but the RNC screws him over anyway and he goes for a third party run. Clinton/Bush/Trump.

And then Trump finishes second.

I'm not so sure. Hillary can be very meek and monotone at times. I don't find her sincere at all, or even attractive as a candidate, and I am very progressive.

Trump or Bernie is who I'm eyeballing...Hillary seems shadey. Way to much "house of cards" juju running through her blood...

Eh, he also demanded to know why Jeb Bush hadn't built a wall. You know, the governor of Florida. Trump isn't playing six dimensional chess, he's cheating at Parcheesi.

IMO if his details aren't getting through, it's worth taking issue with the mainstream press who seem more interested with sensationalizing a headline than providing substance. I suppose the GOP debate would have been a good forum to demand more specifics but Trump's questions were almost exclusively about Trump and not policy.

Yea, that would be dumb. Some of you are underestimating this guy. I know it's early but voting for the guy in the nominations isn't a good idea. He's the best shot the right has, at least in terms of garnering attention. Remember, there are a ton of idiotic voters out there who vote with nothing but their gut/heart.

Ok she's boring, but she's not a complete lunatic with absolutely no policies like Trump. lol.

Well Trump and Bernie are nothing at all alike except for like maybe one or two issues, which both revolve around how much money Trump has.

Because there is nothing shady about a guy known for "telling it like it is", but who refuses to answer anything substantive.

"I'll fix the jobs, I'll fix the economy, I'll fix the VA, it's just management. Trust me I know what I'm doing."

*crowd goes fucking nuts*

Sledge Hammer for president! Oh, wait, that already happened.

I know a lot of people like that, which just seems strange to me. They're polar opposites.

Also rewatching since I missed the first half.

"I used to paint my garage battleship grey".
"Hold that book up. Art of the Deal, its my second favorite book of all time. The first? THE BIBLE."

lol. This guy. This fucking guy.

They're actually not, to be honest. Donald Trump is very progressive, but you wouldn't know that since he's pandering to the Republican base in order to win the nomination.

I completely lost it at the Bible line.

I don't think he's a lunatic. I think he's pretty cunning, to borrow his favorite term. He doesn't have to play any cards now, so why should he? He's winning just doing his thing. I'm sure he could hire some smart folks to draft up some policy when the time comes. He could win the nomination and then totally turn heel, and start moving even more towards the center. That would be really problematic for the Dems.

I don't know how the GOP gives the nomination for someone else and doesn't piss him off, sealing it for Hillary.

Did trump talk about ISIS? Cause I swear my mom must be watching his shit or reading Facebook stuff cause she's blabbering on about how Obama isn't doing anything about ISIS and how keeps talking about how real Trump is :S

They both kind of represent healing for the respective parties. Both parties prioritize certain ideals. Trumps economic policy to restore American industry and economic prowess is quite enticing and I do agree with him on that front. In many ways I don't want to see America live at the expense of the world. But America's economic stability is necessary more for corners of the world, and third world conditions are improving. This is a fact, maybe not fast enough but things are getting better and that shows no signs of slowing. An economic race to the bottom with China is not what we need, and China isn't the enemy. They are the second pillar of power we want to see in the world.

I still prefer Sanders vastly and pretty much every issue. Sanders pretty much as my heart on domestic issues. But Trump has me on international economics. Though I'd hate to see a return of the Industrial Military Complex. But I can see quite clearly why people would be split between the two. Plus it's refreshing to see them both essentially independents bucking the trends of party politics. It reminds you have there are often two solutions to any problem, and it's the corruptions that keeps any solution from ever working.

We need to start doing Trump vs Hillary polls to understand the magnitude of risk we're facing here.

He's 'only' got 29% of the republican support base in a large field... It'd be very foolish to conflate that with the notion that it would stay at 29% if that field were whittled down to one or two options.

Yes, the government can put pressure on companies and they can incentvize them in other ways as well. With that said, the united states government will never boycott or threaten to boycott a company as you insisted to bring all of their jobs back. And frankly, no I don't expect a global company like Ford to do that either.

What? Where is the logic in that? It is an ideological decision of the United States government to not do that. There is no reason that is not possible under another ideological rule. It's called paradigms, Reagan used a new paradigm to force his BS. It's a real thing.

Ford has fuck all to say, fuck them. Mind you that I'm a socialist so I'm not looking at this from some fluffy centrist ' it might be cool if it happened' kind of way. I want change and I don't mind forced change if it is truly necessary.

EDIT: To clarify, I said that this solution was not the most smooth one. Probably wouldn't be something I'd start with if I had something to say about it. It is an option though.

For republican voters, it's not even a question. They'll die before they vote for Hillary. But I could see a good number of others voting for Trump, especially if he moves more towards the center.

But what about hating immigrants and China though?

He'll have to come with substance in the next phase of his campaign. Right now hes keeping it general because at this point hes basically running a PR/marketing campaign. Once/if he reaches a certain point or secures his spot he'll have to bring the details and plans to get the swing voters who are looking at him as possible candidate. The guy is not stupid, even though many posters seem to think so. Look at what hes achieved and done in his life and the experience under his belt. While he didn't start from the bottom or anything like that he did do well for himself on the whole. His life experience could potentially have a more practical and tangible impact on creating changes (those good or bad)

Sanders would be justifiably torn to shreds on economics by any GOP candidate. Not that their party actually has great economics, but he's said a lot of stuff and endorsed programs/views that make it clear he's a decade or five behind the times there.

His standard ISIS talking point is to send troops over there as security while an oil company took the oil.

"Can you believe we can't beat ISIS?" "Why are we telling them what we're going to do?" Etc. Nothing new.

I wonder if Trump's Bible mention was prompted by that stupid debate question about God's messages to the candidates. They didn't ask it to him, but maybe he felt he needed to put some shit out there so that he looks more credible when they inevitable do grill him on the topic.

That's sure putting it mildly.
