Fighting Games Weekly |8/10-16| Gods(Beard) Among Us

how does that happen?
Nash jumps over for a cross up, VEX Inferno hits him as he passes over you. ;)

Also, I think critical arts may be glitched. Twice I had this Ryu player CA during hitstun. I am talking about combos I do consistently with Bison, even during my matches with him. Just basic stuff.

I think it's a great opportunity in general. Probably saves Capcom a crapload on a dedicated venue and is incredibly good for exposure.

Wow just found out you can lengthen Chun's f.hk in SFV by holding forward after doing it.

Allows her to choose between crossover or non-crossover on an opponent's wakeup.

FGC can watch through streams. Also them being at PSX makes them get to see if any other fighters get stick at psx. Also SF5 is functionally a second party game.

Hopefully it gets the Sony main stream / stage support otherwise it could end up feeling like those TGS tournaments or a Dreamhack side event.

Eh. I don't know about the "in general" part. It'll be good for SFV and the players there, but who else? Are you hoping that it attracts more people to regular fg streams? Those people seem to get scared away once they see the presentation for community run events isn't as esportzzz as other scenes.

Don't get me wrong, I think this is all cool and good for Capcom and SFV's future scene, but I'm just feeling skeptical that it'll be a net boon to the entire fgc.

The Moscone West Center, a block from Mission st. They are in the heart of SF without while having Song foot the bill. It's a 700,000 foot convention center.

Did you watch their PSX clips from last year? They took good time to archive it. The tourney only taking 1 day is going to make it better than TGS tourney since it's all preselected.

I think if it's best for SFV, that's the most important thing.

Beyond that, letting people (who are primarily there for PSX) play it and see some exciting gameplay from the previous version live is probably the most convincing way possible to get someone into fighting games or the FGC. If they get scared or whatever later, that's less important than the initial exposure (and perhaps you can't do anything to change those people's minds). More importantly, every major journalist in the world will be there for PSX, and now Capcom Cup too (as opposed to the 3-4 that care about the FGC).

what does that mean in the context of what I was saying by chance? my brain can't process that atm

I'm more speaking towards the possibility that Capcom Cup could end up being a side event at PSX when before it was the main draw of its own event.

I think that's inevitable but doesn't sound so bad considering this psx event is gonna bring in shitloads of press and viewers who might accidentally cover/watch the tournament.

I think the whole draw of PSX is bigger than just sf4 as a tourney. If streamed it should still have good results for the FGC. I will say more people will be watching at the venue than before.

I am surprised so many folks are not playing the beta right now.

Oh yeah, and Bison can combo off of Psycho Inferno H.

Edit: fighting a guy named "BeingBlackSucks".

ArcRevo has been SO BORING so far.

What is it about my posting history and style makes you think that I am lying.

Although I will admit that the average player in the beta right now seems to be far better than the ones playing rising thunder.
