Has there been a character that is both a Zoner and a grappler?

Athena and Takuma in KOFXIII are very much that.

Rock Howard in Garou could be played like that (could do both a raw command grab and after a 'teleport'). Also had command counters.

For XrD Sign we have 3 more characters between the arcade and console release. I thnik we can hope minimum 2 more for home version.

Between this one and SFV we'll have a great 2016 year for fighting game ^^

I wouldnt count on it. I also wouldnt count on them adding the only character in the game that actually matters. Baiken.

Pretty sure they'll add more. But they'll be DLC. With one free for the first week as per usual.

Between Jam and Jack-o i'm already quite happy though.

I'm sure there will be at least 1 more character for console release. Raven has a character model in the game, so he might end up in the game like Leo eventually did.

Has there been a character that is both a Zoner and a grappler?

Kan-Ra in Killer Instinct.

He's got Dhalsim normals(which he can start combos from), a ground spike special which tracks your position on the screen, crazy mobility with his sand traps, floating stationary projectiles which control space, and ranged command grabs ala Super Skrull. In the right circumstances, Kan-Ra can combo off of his command grab.

I love the character to death, but he's hard to play effectively.

Are they changing the way ranked works in revelator? The levels n shit they have right now are meaningless and don't make any sense.

Yeah so how long do you guys think Capcom Cup will take? Last year's stream lasted about 8.5 hours and dj ipad only took up about 45 minutes of that time and another 45 minutes was taken up by the Omega mode exhibition. Last year's tournament was 2/3 throughout the entire tournament (3/5 for grand finals?) where as this year is supposed to be 3/5 for top 8. There are twice the amount of matches for a 32 man bracket compared to a 16 man bracket.

yeah i'm not sure how they're going to pull it off

You just set up two streams like EVO and the 25th anniversary tournament.

If they have two streams going from the start down to top 8, they could do a 32-man bracket with every game streamed in about eight hours. I don't know if they would have exhibitions or breaks in there or if the exhibitions would be moved to other parts of PSX, but it's definitely viable to run the tournament itself in a single day.

The problem with 2 streams is that a match won't have your full attention. At EVO it's a must because we don't want to miss the matches and there isn't much time, but at Capcom Cup? The live audience will be splitting up their attention too.

Can you imagine EVO having 2 streams and 2 matches going on at the same time on the big stage? Does that mean there will be a side station for the 2nd stream? It would be a shame if the players that spent a lot of money, time, and effort to qualify don't get to shine on the big stage. After hearing Combofiend talk about a 2 day event during the Capcom Pro Talk announcement stream, it kind of seems like a let down.

Need to factor in the DJ too.

This is...not a real issue. The hype wasn't a problem at EVO, it won't be a problem here.

Don't think they will have issues if they organize it properly with matches happening one after the other and no stupid long breaks like last year.

You mean the exact setup Evo has had two out of the last three years? And the year they didn't do that, there was much teeth gnashing and rending of garmets by stream monsters over choice matches that did not get streamed at all.

It will not be an issue, especially if the end of the tournament is going to be like how most top 8s are at a tournament, where it's the singular focus.

Ehh, I feel like a Capcom Cup finals match deserves your full attention on the big stage which is why EVO does that for Sunday. Why not run 2 streams on the main stage at EVO so they can fit in more than the 5 games on Sunday?

Speaking of EVO, I was watching the Daigo vs Gamerbee match and didn't get to see the Kazunoko vs PR Rog hype match because they both happened at the same time.

It's not about them having difficulty running a 32 man bracket in a day. It's about giving the best experience. Last year gave you every match on the big stage.

Again, you're speaking about pools, quarters, and semis. I'm speaking about showcasing the players in a similar format to EVO Sunday. Capcom Cup isn't your normal tournament.

Always great to see Low Tier God get blown up. What a fucking lame. Sudden urge to play hugo.

I almost pity LTG now.

lol that he actually thinks Rolento is mid tier. Dude is delusional.

Your delusional (kappa), Rolento is a great character but he ain't no fucking high tier. People don't know or understand the matchup so they assume he's just broken and complain.

agree with you on this.

capcom cup is the pretty much the grand finale of a year long season where narratives have been created as well as culminated. as such they as in capcom and sony definitely need to respect the viewers, the players and the matches by not having them played on both streams/off stream or rushing through all the matches in a single day.
