Me and most of my buddies would vote for him if elections were today. I'm voting republican no matter the candidate, but having him as POTUS would be so awesome. The meltdowns on GAF are going to be legit.

I can't stand Hilary or the socialist grandpa so I really hope he manages to pull this through

I am not saying why Trump?, but I am saying why Republican no matter what?

are you an upper-class white man? Because the GOP's platform only benefits that class of people. Seriously...

This is hilarious. So you just want to vote for Trump for the lulz?

Not really, no. I am somewhat disenfranchised with our political system, so that's part of it. I don't really trust any of them, but I trust trump the most on the sole basis that he's not a politician.

I seriously don't care what you tell me about any other candidate. If they're a career politician, i have 0 trust.

But if I'm faced with religious extremist anti-science zealots (eg non Trump Republican) vs democrats I'll begrudgingly go with democrats (and in fact it's the same reason I've always begrudgingly gone Democrat. I really hate them, but i hate religious nuts more

Still one of the harshest thing a president has said about 45% of the population...

Talk about Mitt Romney's 47% comment. lol :p

We are more than a year off, we'll see.

I'll say this though, he will need the finest political strategist involved to win the general election. The very best-case scenario for him to win has a very slim chance to succeed.

Considering what the GOP has done the last eight years (And especially the eight years before it) I'm ready to turn a deaf ear to their cause. Their politics (and especially their policies) is like watching a child crying over not getting his desired Happy Meal toy.

It's good to see gaffers going against the established opinion here. Make things interesting.

I'm not American, but I supported Bill Clinton, hated Bush, and I support Obama. But now I think the Republicans should win to balance the force and I don't see good options in the democrat side, except for Biden. Trump certainly entertains me, but he has a lot of bullshit to get rid off, like the wall stuff.

Trump's idea of sending back children born here to illegals is a bad idea. Why penalize the kid when they had nothing to do with it?

Instead give the parents a way to residency (not citizenship) and tax them like everyone else to create wealth.

He doesn't want to send back people who got citizenship through birthright, he wants to disallow birthright citizenship going forward

Honestly this is terrible. You sound like you have no actual convictions. Oh wait I missed that you weren't American. If you hated bush you have no idea what the Republican Party has become

Haha , that's a bingo for me too. I absolutely detest Sanders, Clinton, and Warren with a passion. I'll be voting Republican no matter what in 2016, but I'd love to see a Trump Administration just to watch GAF go into a tailspin.

Ballance in discourse is great. Everyone deserves to be heard, but i think you are losing the idea of what politics is about.

Balance the force. Makes sense.

I don't know why I always defend Trump when I'm for Hillary; I just feel like there is some kind of derangement syndrome out there where we can't have an honest discussion on his proposals

Thank you for doing that by the way. I find myself in a similar circumstance, which rarely feels worth doing here. I'm an undecided voter but follow a lot of what Trump says and although I don't agree with some of his stances or priorities, I simply hate seeing things falsely represented. I want to read people's opinions on what he said, not disinformation that helps nobody. It strangely hits my psychological desire to root for an underdog. Not because I agree with him, but disagree what is being said about him, if that makes sense.

The desire to annoy other people seems like a common Republican goal.

Doesn't seem like a good reason to vote for a particular candidate but it is what it is I guess.

Just watched the CNN special interview with him tonight. It was all more unrealistic policy for the most part.

- Ground troops in Iraq and possibly Syria to surround the oil (the oil is basically the entire country) and thinks not many would get hurt in the process. Give the oil money to families, not sure how this can be done.

- Build a wall. Force Ford to bring back jobs from Mexico with taxes. Doesn't explain if jobs would actually have good wages or if Ford would just price the taxes into their cars and keep selling them.

- Birthright revoked through legal means. Doesn't explain the logistics or specifics. (perhaps hinting towards the kind of judges he would nominate for SC)

- Iran is secretly supporting ISIS while fighting them at the same time. I genuinely wonder if he understand the conflict between sunni and shiite.

- Completely pro-business. Wants regulations reduced and doesn't believe in environmental regulation. Also wants competitive tax rates for business, so much lower. This wouldn't help deficit at all.

Well, in my country, Brazil, the "left" is going for the fourth consecutive run, by the end of the current run, it will be 16 years in power. No party achieved that before. But in each election they are losing votes, the last one it was technically a tie. So this current government is a disaster, economical crisis is hitting the country and things are becoming really tense as corruption scandals with the party leaders going to jail, manifestations around the country every month with millions of people, the president has only 7% of approval and she was a nobody, she was elected because she was the state secretary of the popular previous president. Millions are claiming for impeachment, and even for coup d'etat. This is terrible as the country will lack international credibility. The best outcome would be the victory of the oppositon in next election, that will likely happen, so things would calm down, because in curently situation half the country aren't accepting the current government. So, maybe, things would escalate quickly in America if a non good democrat leader is elected. The republicans will get more and more angry and may start similar manifestations. When a country is divided politically, if one sides keeps winning for a minor marging the losers aren't going to accept "democracy" forever. They will counter somehow, I believe.

Go home Donald, you're drunk.

Meanwhile his "crazy" immigration policies have popular support:

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/pub..._build_a_wall_deport_felon_illegal_immigrants

People are fed up, about a lot of things but certainly about inaction on the immigration crisis.

There has been zero net illegal immigration into the nation in the last 7 years and one million fewer illegal immigrants from Mexico are in the US now compared to 2007. There is no current "crisis" based on actual facts. Most illegal immigration today is also people who stay after their visas expire which isn't really going to be dealt with via a wall. People always love racist policies, that's not really a surprise.

Besides, Trump and Walker live in fucking Queens and Madison.

I don't know where Trump's campaign is going. All I know is AM radio is gargling his balls. He's even overshadowing their old darling, Ted Cruz.

Some AM talk radio conservatives and a few pundits seem to like Trump or are neutral. Mark Levin, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are examples. Others though hate Trump and constantly mock him and his supporters. Glenn Beck, that Red State guy, and publications like The Weekly Standard, Bill Kristol, Krauthammer and other more establishment Republicans are in that camp.

Interesting thing is that Trump does better than Bush in that poll. Most assumes Jeb will eventually get the nomination, but he has a big uphill climb. Washington Post reported that only 150 people showed up to a recent Town hall of his. People assume since the big money is behind Bush that he will come out victorious in the end. However, Trump has a fair amount of money and can certainly compete in that regard if he wants to spend his own money

Hell, Trump really doesn't need to spend much on campaign ads since he is getting a ton of free media attention right now.

I will be joining you guy's. Fuck it. We need somebody like Trump. I don't agree with some things he says, but stuff needs to get done in this country. If he sucks, then he will be gone in four years. And now I await for Liberal GAF to attack!! Go!Go!Go!!!!

I feel like I say it every single day, but I'll say it again. I can not believe how many of you guys seem to seriously think Trump as president would be the end of America, or he would create a nuclear war, or other insane ideas. I'm no supporter of Obama (but I do respect the presidency), but even I didn't think things like that when he was running, and I certainly don't think all of that about Hilary Clinton or anyone else. The president isn't some sort of dictator where what they say automatically goes and they can instantly do whatever they want. It's one reason our country is so great, that something like that is not able to take place with the way things are set up. The president legit answers to others, and that alone would prevent so much of the insanity you guys seem worried about from happening.

Come on guys, really.

Good thing that's just a talking point and not actually the only thing he's proposed. As for crisis I was speaking of this recent event: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_American_immigration_crisis which is still very fresh in American minds.

Trump said he's willing to spend $1 billion of his own money, which is more than most people's entire campaigns

Probably just talk, I doubt he has the liquid assets. Though its still a great line because it puts the idea in people's mind that he won't be beholden to bankers and corporations like Hillary, Jeb and all the rest.

I don't get how they will deport the people here already. Will there be some kind of Gestapo group that patrols for mexican looking people and check their papers?

Presumably a buffed up ICE, in conjunction with local and state police. I doubt there will be highly public roundups or anything of that nature though.

Sorry, not buying it. Just like all those guys who said the Obama/Romney race was soooo close, but nothing about reality would bear out the evidence. Trump offends way more people than he gets pumped up. He can win the primary because Republicans are crazy, but he can't win the Presidency.

Annoying people is not just a Republican thing.

No. but wanting to elect Trump or Romney or whoever else the GOP decides to nominate just to "see GAF melt down" is a pretty common refrain in these parts, and is Idiocracy-levels of stupid.

Well he's promising to get them all out. Not just ones that get caught. Which would be a tiny fraction of 11 million people I assume, that we know of.

What's that you say about Trump not being an anti-science republican?

lol

I'm sure the poster find some justification for that. I seriously doubt Trump would be leading an enlightened wave of science and reason. His entire platform is based around appealing to pure populism and science usually gets in the way of populism.

Option A: You get arrested for committing a crime -> no papers -> deportation
Option B: You don't commit crimes -> no deporation
