I thought people could only invade FOBs. If they can mess with yhe mother base itself, then it could get annoying.

You could disconnect at anytime. However it's written that FOB damage and rewards from online features will be reflected the next time you connect online. I can see this be a fun distraction when I S rank all SP missions and just finish off my side ops.

Are there any requirements for those or just a save file transfer is needed?

That I don't know. Hopefully someone else does.

I'm sure there are some R&D stuffs tied to FOB, but probably not anything pertaining to the story, or the best stuff.

Sounds like the invasions are a huge pain in the ass for a lot of people.

I'd say go for PC then, based on GZ the quality should not be an issue.

It should look noticeably better with larger draw distance for objects, shadows, lights etc.
You could see it even in GZ which was much smaller environment.

Yes, just don't build a FOB and you won't have to deal with it. It'll be a little slower but honestly everyone who has been playing it before the release has been saying things have been fine without using a single FOB.
