I've been playing all day, and while I love the stealth and gunplay, I'm so bored of travelling from place to place. Is there any way to simply get on the chopper and travel to another landing zone without leaving the map entirely and sitting through two load times? If I decide to give up D-Horse, the game will truly grind to a halt. I feel as though I spent half of today just travelling through the mostly-empty open world. It's really negatively shaping my outlook on the whole game.
No, there isn't. There's a fast travel system between major outposts though.

I'm gonna kill so many soviets.

I wish I had a bow and arrow

Get my Rambo on

I thought the Far Cry games was the peak of how a rambo video game can be made.....boy was I wrong....

There are two security doors on the main medical building...on floors 2 and 3. One should be open (blue)
The one on the 2nd floor, is blue and let's me in, then there's a second door with a red light and a button beside it but it won't let me in. Any ideas?

People were griefing me over the weekend for saying this but expect to see a lot more views like this. I think I've spent 5-10% of my entire playtime just traveling through empty land.

As the novelty of a brand new game wears off, the flaws really start weighing the game down. It's still pretty damn brilliant but you can't help but think how much better it would be with some changes. PC community might get some really useful mods.

Is it possible to miss Quiet?

Ocelot just mentioned her being in the area for the first time and I'm not sure if I should be looking for her now.

Anyone else have a weird bug where Snake keeps moving around when you're not even pressing the stick?

Real annoying, especially when it happens when I'm trying to stay behind a cover or lining up a sniper shot and it keeps messing my scope sight.

Or it might just be something wrong with my DS4.

Bug most likely, restart console. Thats what i did

Thanks!

HGW is the music producer as I have came to know later on. However, his touches is all over this game, the score is fantastic I just wish there is more of it.

Yup, noticed he was the producer during the credits.

Is there no music that plays while roaming around in the open world and not in conflict?? Please tell me there is....

Is there a way to turn horse movement off toggle? I want to only move when I am holding a direction, having to pull back to stop feels so odd and unintuitive, especially when I'm looking elsewhere.

You might need to be at a certain distance/angle to get the action button prompt.

Hm, I've been clearing outposts, but I've not been told anything about that. I'll try to find out more about it, thanks. That'd still help speed things up a bit more.

It's better than nothing but you gotta find each spot before you travel there and there's not that many. Still gonna be sprinting around the map for long periods of time.

Why doesn't BB talk enough, was Kiefer charging per line?

BB talks a lot in the tapes so it's definitely not like there are not many VO work.

Kojima wanted more of a silent protagonist for gamers to feel like they are Big Boss, the same ridiculous explanation we've been hearing since Half Life 2 for silent protagonist. Except this time it was a wrong choice because Big Boss is not an empty character which can take on whatever the player thinks him to be, he has his own personality well established through several games.

That plus the fact that he talks on tapes a fair bit but barely even opens his mouth even when asked a direction question when in game is annoying. Never once does he communicates to anyone via radio...how stupid is that?

Should I bother playing Ground Zeroes before this? I kinda wanna jump right in.

Should play at least every big boss MGS game to figure out what's going on. Snake Eater, Peacewalker, GZ, and now this.

There are are lot of people I had to look up because I never played peace walker. The GZ event is brought up a lot.

Neither of you know about cardboard box fast travel?

I'm about to drop into afghanistan with the sole intention of collecting more invoices

I don't really agree with the people saying that Kiefer has a lot of dialogue in the cassettes. Miller and Ocelot still do 99% of the talking in them, with Snake offering up the odd "Afghanistan, huh?" every now and then. They're night and day in comparison to the Peace Walker tapes.

The amount of Snake dialogue is my one disappointment with this game. God I miss Hayter losing his shit over cardboard box tanks.

connected to server

got my sneaking suit

game became so, so much slower in loading

edit: wasnt I supposed to get a golden arm too?

There isn't however when you get cutscenes and dat score hits...

You could play the music you collected though at any time and even loop what you have.

Hmmm...

You say no, someone else says there is background music...

Ah well, intro is done, game is installing, I shall find out soon enough. Thanks though.

I understand that but after 40 hours with this game I can't imagine campy Hayter with this subject matter. I miss Hayter too, but this wasn't designed for him.

Some of the MGSV vocal soundtrack by Donna Burke are out.
Sins of the Father

This woman has an impressive set of pipes. The wooooohooooos give me goosebumps for days!

I'd honestly say that sins of the father is my favourite MGS song bar none. Its a whole other level in production and vocal prowess by Burke. Even she is legit shook after singing it.

Snake eater by cynthia harrell and best is yet to come come in next at 2nd and 3rd place. I wont let nostalgia fog my absolute love for sins of the father which is GOAT.

So I really enjoyed the prologue, it was an over the top spectacle, but I wouldn't say it's quite on the level of TLOU or Bioshock's openings for me. Anyways, just finished mission 5 earlier, and am really enjoying the game so far. I have already been in a few intense situations that had me up from my seat, which is just what I was hoping for after reading some of the previews and impressions. It controls smooth, looks and runs well, and the AI is some of the best I've experienced in any game. I really like the audiotape mechanic too, it gives you all the information you would typically get from codec conversations while allowing you to continue your objective at the same time, big improvement. Eager to play some more later.

Yeah. That's why I've kept nudging people to really check Mother Base since the impressions thread. Something you absolutely cannot let yourself miss.

Could you tell me how to access this? I've unlocked the medical bay and standing on it now, but I can't find anything.
