Got my Xbox CE, what am I supposed to have for codes? I have a collector card but no day one card.

And can a finger or two be tightened on the hand?

What's the servers down message mean for Xbox users?

Just finished episode 3

You'd think
the story ended and you will have to do some shit to get a secret ending but no, the whole tease to chapter 2 just made me giddy with excitement. Shit is about to get real as if it hasn't already. Emmerich yelling "revenge!!" made me laugh.

The story so far...

Kojima's madness still here confirmed.
don't get to excited the actual content here is pretty small, the majority is padding.
the game hypes you up so much, then nofoodinfridge.gif
Story developments are still good though.

So, I'm more of a go-in-guns-blazing kind of guy instead of stealth, and haven't enjoyed previous MGS games. That said, all these good impressions are making me consider getting the game, especially from those that didn't like previous titles and are enjoying this one. Should I do it GAF?

Yeah. That's why I've kept nudging people to really check Mother Base since the impressions thread. Something you absolutely cannot let yourself miss.

I'm glad I checked it out! I was wondering about it, seeing as you see part of what happens in a trailer.

I played a crazy amount of this game today. I'm still not really sure what to think of it at this point but I'll continue to play crazy amounts of it tomorrow.

Damn. Kojima sure likes to mention he directed mgs5. I'm so glad no other director does this shit. Distracting as fuck. Does the shitty credits continue after the every episode?

This has been probably answered a million times, but the "servers" aren't working, right? It keeps failing to connect for me so I cant download ground zeroes files.

I've played so much but barely advanced the story. So many Side Ops. lol

Also, I have a completed Side Op that has a dot by it and allows me to deploy to it again. What's that about?

It's entertaining.

It's 100% exactly what I was expecting it would be and I was a bit on media-blackout. Kind of disappointing a bit in that regard, it's very much just a game -- which is understandably great, but for MGS (for me), it's never really been about the game. If this was called Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker 2, I'd probably be more forgiving.

The intro was nuts and fun, hopefully there is more like that (I'm about 5 hours in).

He probably did this because of the whole "Konami removing his name from the box" shit.

But for the record, i have no problem with it, i'm happy his name and Kojima Productions logo is in the game. They deserve it.

I really like it so far but have only played for about 3 hours, so can't say if it is at the same level as the past games in the series.

The intro was atmospheric and interesting but ultimately dragged on for too long, and it should have been cut shorter.

I like the missions so far but I have only tried the first five. If mission design repeat - like rescuing someone, destroy something, kill somebody - then it'll be a borefest quickly. So I hope there'll be variety.

I'm also very concerned about how widespread the cutscenes will be or how long. I want it at the level of MGS2 and MGS4 but I don't think I'm gonna get that.

I absolutely love the whole Mother Base aspect of developing weapons and growing your military, just as in Peace Walker.

Also, I wanna shut Kaz's mouth when I'm listening to tapes. I think I'm gonna listen to the casette tapes exclusively in the chopper.

The people saying that kojima out naughty dogged ND probably like fancy pyrotechnics because the TLoU intro is at a whole other level than this self indulgent lens flare wank.

In over 20 hours of gameplay im at 17% and the prologue has been the weakest part of the game for me. Everything else has lived upto the hype. Im just trying to convince those who bailed on this franchise after MGS4 that just make it through that prologue to enjoy the rest of this impressive game (mechanically and technically fantastic).

Both are great, it's just that MGS's opening was unpredictable(especially if you go in blind) and TLOU was predictable from the first shot with you playing as the daughter.

I think the kind of people who love this game are the same ones who loved MGS Special Missions and MGS2 Substance's VR Missions. The pure stealth gameplay is awesome.

Spoiler regarding Mother Base's development (~episode 9)
Miller said they built a zoological plant but I can't find it.. any hints please ? :)

I haven't bought it yet but I watched a few hours of streams today and I have to agree with you. It looks very much like a sequel to Peace Walker rather than a true MGS. (I'm not a fan of the gameplay changes that started with PW)

Damn, the prologue/intro was terrible. Poorly directed, overindulgent, nonsensical crap. Praise the Lord that the first couple of missions are great and feel awesome.

Hey guys, are guards alerted when you pick up music?

Huh. I thought it was awesome.

Do you have to go to the medical platform at a particular point to find
whatever is there
? I can't find any door?

Call a helicopter, go to the option to select a new landing point on MB, there's an icon at the top right, press the button.

There are two security doors on the main medical building...on floors 2 and 3. One should be open (blue)

I've been playing all day, and while I love the stealth and gunplay, I'm so bored of travelling from place to place. Is there any way to simply get on the chopper and travel to another landing zone without leaving the map entirely and sitting through two load times? If I decide to give up D-Horse, the game will truly grind to a halt. I feel as though I spent half of today just travelling through the mostly-empty open world. It's really negatively shaping my outlook on the whole game.

Running around Mother Base with the riot SMG, shooting your men in the balls and making them thank you for it. Life's simple pleasures.
