This game is quite silly too and in a ridiculous way.

Personally think MGS3 was one the least silliest.

I made a pretty big quiet mechanics post few pages back, can't quote cause on mobile it's a hassle, but it should be able to help you out, the game really needs a tutorial for her.
 
How do you "unmark" personnel in the iDroid menu?

You know, like when you have a new development project or a new soldier or a new cassette tape or just something "new" to look at and it'll be marked on the menu screen with a circle indicator and a number?

With tapes you start the tape and the indicator disappears.
With projects you look at the project and it disappears.

With soldiers no matter how I look at them or reassign them or fiddle with them they stay "marked" like there's something I'm supposed to be or could be doing with them and it drives me mad. I like to have everything "done" before I move on to the next activity and this makes me feel like I'm constantly missing something.

The "Mother Base" tab just sits there blinking, forever.

Troublemakers have a 1% chance to cause an issue(depending on the troublemaker stat, either a fight or sickness) 6 times a day. They can stack up to 10% per team.

Diplomats reduce the chances of an issue by 1% per person, per team, and it also stacks up to 10%.

They cancel each other out, but your overall morale of Mother Base will be the deciding factor. If morale is low, even a 10% reduction with no troublemakers might not be enough.
 
Got my first S Rank. In the most amusing way possible.

Not gonna spoiler this cause it's a meaningless not important mission.

I did the mission with the 3 generals meeting where you have to kill them all. Up to this point I've done every single mission sneaky and non-lethal because I'm super lame and terribad at it and hate myself. So I'm sneaking in and see the car pull up and identify one of the generals. Well, he sees me and sends some dude to go find me. I manage to sneak away and follow the general's progress and sneak up on the building he goes into and hide across from the entrance around the side of another building. I begin to listen to his conversation.

Well, in my scouting I had not noticed a random dude who walks right in front of me and I reflex action and tranq him in the head. Somehow, however, it alerts the general and the other two guys inside the building. Panicking and not knowing what to do, since I didn't wanna restart at that point, I decide "Fuck it" and equip a grenade. The general opens the door and I lob the grenade it. They all panic and stand there as it explodes them into pieces. Well that's one general down now to-

Mission Objective Completed 1/7
Mission Objective Completed 2/7
Mission Objective Completed 3/7

Ocelot stumbles over himself repeating the same thing 3 times and alerting me that I killed a general as I ran cackling out of the village.

Run out of the Hot Zone and when the scoreboard comes up I find out that my completely botched awful mission was a goddam S Rank.

In case anyone doesn't know, you can also find these platforms out in the field. They're a bit bigger and you need to grab the shipping invoices from them first before you can use them, but after that you're good to go.
 
Finally extracted Quiet.
That was one helluva boss fight. Really like that fact that she hums Quiet's song. I wonder if she is supposed to be the white whale aka Moby Dick? Because Big Boss's (Ahab) decision to keep her alive is clearly going to tear Mother Base apart.

Exactly, they're kinda easy to miss, as they don't stand out much (blend perfectly with the level design).

Snake was dense as hell in the game. I swear, aside from the Boss arch, he was an idiot for everything else heh.

And yes Lori Alan as the Boss' VA was amazing. I gotta say, I think she is the best VA of the whole series.

Mission 6 was huge and crazy. That's what I'm talkin about. Game can be really hard at times too, like trying to sneak through a place with tons of guards during daylight can be pretty tricky.

When you replay a mission to get the secondary objectives do you have to get them all in one go? Or can you just tick off a few and then get the others on a different attempt?

Anyone know how I send out people to get resources?
 
Scoping out bases is making me feel a bit eugenic. Mark the couple dudes I'll be sending to back, everyone else's survival is up to them.

She jumped a few meters away and fainted (as I have beaten her). Then I went over to her and a cutscene plays where you choose whether to shoot her or not.

Wow...this Unlucky Dog 01 side op is really starting to get on my nerves. I keep setting off an alert at the last second. And because he's tucked away in a room with only one direction out that is full of ways you can be flanked along with the fortress itself only having one way out when you have him, shit's fucking tough.
 
So I shot that little dog with the tranq gun before using the fulton, never got a cutscene at motherbase. Any way to still recruit it?

wasnt feelin those ruins as most apparently. entrance was great tho

whereas the big area in mission 5 was great

I'm not that far but Ocelot did have some flashy moments with the troops at MB. Even had some cool callbacks to Snake Eater

Mission 5 was pretty quick and simple for me. 6 was a series of ever escalating scenarios with a ton of bases on the way and all had fun ways of sneaking around them. It felt a lot more climactic (I guess by nature, since it's a more story heavy mission written by Kojima himself) so it needed a more crazy design.
 
Ocelot also warned me about Quiet, how does that work is she a side mission or appears later on in the story?

Also one lf the enemy soldiers was talking about Huey.
 
Does the 'Auto assign' function work well enough?

Will the game select what resource goes where based on their level or do they just go wherever?
