He has plenty of dialogue in the cassettes, but for me the problem is that he doesn't look, sound or act anything like the Ocelot of the previous games. They don't even acknowledge that him and Big Boss actually know eachother outside of one throwaway line in a cassette.

eh? there's a scene on mother base where he reprimands someone for the way he was shooting his automatic pistol, and said that it was better suited for revolvers... a pretty obvious callback to MGS3

edit: He also mentions about not being able to go out in the field because he still technically works for GRU

Quick question that might be obvious-- can I do multiple side ops at once? Instead of going back to my helicopter, can I just hop on my horse and head to the next closest side op, or will it tell me I'm leaving the mission area or something?

I haven't really done more than the first few side ops, and I'm looking at my map now and while it allows me to click on a different side op after completing the first I set out on, it's fairly far away and I'd hate to lose progress or something.

Apologies if this is really painfully apparent.

Yeah you can.

What the hell? FInished mission 1 last night, then flew into Mother Base for the first time. Did all kinds of training stuff, learned about the Fulton system. Then I quit to the menu.

Turn the game on today and I'm getting the cutscene where I fly into Mother Base. I have to do all this shit again??

I had a big smile throughout that scene. Loved that call back.

Yeah this happened to me twice. Always go back to the chopper before quitting. Weird, I know.

Wow, alright. Thanks for clarifying. I'm honestly terrified of making even the slightest mistake while playing, so I've just completed missions meticulously and ran back to my chopper ASAP. Chaining together a bunch of these will probably be a much better approach.

just pay attention to the yellow saving icon. whenever that shows up you're good. ussually entering leaving a village and such does the trick if you dont wanna go back to the chopper

What does the helicopter speaker upgrade do? I assumed I could assign it to blast sick jams while landing, but I don't see the option in customize.

In curious if anyone else is playing MGSV like me: as a guns blazing, no-holds-barred killing machine who has doesn't even know the definition of the word stealth. It's actually a ton of fun, and very (maybe too) viable.

Typically I scout a base by launching in a couple of grenades to stir up the hornets nest and from that point it's a rain of bullets until every last guard in the base is dead. Stealth ain't my thing, but at least MGSV makes it feel great to go in hot.

is there a list of places in Afghanistan that have the Box Delivery system? I think I've only found one so far...

Afghanistan has Box Delivery system?! Mind blown. Have not found a single one.

Main Missions: try to be stealthy and chico

Side Ops: fuck it, #yolo, y'all going to die (unless you have a rank of B or higher then you I will spare your life in exchange for indentured servitude)

Demon!

Nah, this'll be how I act on my second playthrough. My only issue is unless you are quick about taking down the comms system, fights get a little too congested for my tastes. I tried being nuclear but I ended up with fifteen guys on me and two snipers knocking me down, so I went back to stealthy killing.

I play anything the same; stealthy without being seen, but I mostly kill useless people with low ranks so they wont wake up later and call in. if I can get close I do this after interrogating them.

tranq em -> kick em to wake them up -> point gun at them to interrogate them on floor -> after they tell me I either kick them again and fulton them, or shoot them in the head with a silencer.

im obv a bit more careless in side ops tho and will use shit like an unsilenced sniper rifle

So, uh, just did the first Side Op where you have to clear up the mine fields.

Gameplay spoiler:
Anyone else a little disappointed you couldn't crawl over them to collect them? First thing I tried, lol

I disagree. Kiefer sounds too soft to be Big Boss. The character needs a more iconic, commanding voice, like John Cygan's.

This. He almost sounds like he'd rather not have been there. Hardly any talking in cutscenes (I appreciate the tapes but still can't always tell him apart from Miller or Ocelet based on the direction and inflection of their voices.) and just plain flat overall. Huge downgrade personally.

I try to kill every sniper in my way then press square to get down behind a rock or something. They can get too annoying compared to the foot soldiers

Stuck on the Honey Bee mission. Is it always in the same place or do I need to do something for it to appear?

I'm standing right when it shows on the IGN guide. Been on this mission for ages getting nowhere :/

Edit: just found it. Was it a different location, part way through a wall.

also I play with reflex on since I rarely get it to happen anyway

reflex would be perfect if it was just a bit shorter tbh. its too long

fun to just run at them and CQC during slowmo tho

Haha I did the same thing as well. Was well disappointed when it blew up in my face.
