Man, Episode 12 is a bitch, where you have to rescue
Emmerich.
I cannot get through that base undetected. Using the upgraded sneaking suit but I still get spotted from far away. And the lab the target is in is always locked.

Help?

Story spoiler and speculation about Quiet after chapter 1.

Considering Quiet looks the same as she did in the prologue despite the fact that she got burned heavily and that she didn't have superhuman abilities at that time it's fair to assume that she has taken the parasite same as the skull unit which lets her take her former appearance in the form of a second skin that can look like actual skin but needs to take energy directly through contact such as sun and water. Considering all this it is logical to assume that it is because of the parasite that she doesn't speak.

But I wonder why she can't write english or just learn another language?

Also playing this game with a busted touch pad and a left analog stick that has trouble staying in a neutral position is an absolute nightmare.

Really glad my approach of getting Side Ops done before Main Missions has paid off by rewarding me with the Take On Me cassette tape.

18 hours in and I still don't have a kill yet, feels good man...

Might have to break that rule soon if the game doesn't quit asking me if I want to put on that damn Chicken Hat.

it's so satisfying to go in like Rambo and just slaughtering everyone. I'm just not good at stealth :(

I'm getting pretty good at it I think. Just did 2 mission with no alerts. But I was taking my time and one of the prisoners died juuuust before I could get to him.

Go prone unless you are sure you can crouch walk or run unseen.

Damn this game is good. I feel like I'm pretty close to S ranking the missions but I just keep getting spotted at least once and I sometimes can't help myself in using explosives on groups of guards.

Sneak in perfectly, free the prisoners, then at the last second get spotted. Solution? Whip out that grenade launcher and just devastate everything around me. The destruction in this game, limited as it is, is pretty satisfying.

I always look at that as the game challenging you. "You need help, wuss?" Is basically what it says to me.

Just got to Africa by the way. I'm loving this game it's an addiction.

What a game.

Just played a side mission that to me was just as satisfying as any main mission so far. The objective was a simple rescue mission - as I approached the outer perimter night had began to fall, I call in a supply drop to switch out my desert camo for the Sneaking Suit.

A spotlight guard was watching the main entrance but he had been left all alone, I slipped past the searching light and climbed the tower, holding him up. He was useful - he knew the exact location of the prisoner.

I made my way closer to the compound, a large wall shielded me from the guards but this caused me to relax a little bit too much, as I inch closer to the wall I knock something alerting nearby guards - they hadn't been tagged but the sudden end to their conversation told me I had messed up.

I relocate pretty quick, hiding behind a communiction relay they had left undefended, I plant a C4 for future use. I'm high up and have eyes inside the compound so this is a great opportunity to mark most of the guards, there is only one on my side of the wall, I toss a magazine from above to distract him for a moment and instantly make my move diving down and taking him out fast.

I avoid the front door in favour of a drainage ditch, I come out to an opening but there is a guard on watch, I wait a few moments for him to pass but instead two more join him for a smoke break. The one leaves pretty quickly after a conversation about the US Star Wars program but the other two hang around. For a very long time. Finally the second guards leaves again, back inside to help guard the prisoner with the one who had left earlier.

I strike dragging the remaining guard down into the ditch. Sunlight was only a few hours away and it seemed like I had boxed myself into a corner as the compound was too open and there were too many guards with a good vantage for me to slip out of the drainingage ditch.

The best luck I've had in the game so far, my idroid informs me a sandstorm is about to hit. With a thick cloud of dust I rise from the ditch and burst into the room the prisoner was being kept in, tossing a smoke grenade at the two guards, quickly switching back to my silenced rifle to take them both out.

But in the confusion of the attatck the silencer runs out and the sound of my gunshots ring out through out the compound. I snatch the prisoner up and make my way through the various rooms, I'm actually going deeper into the compound but I need to get away from the source of the gunfire.

Everyone is alert by now (but I remain unseen) - I peek my head outside and see I'm surronded, I shoot the closest guard blocking my exit in the chest with a tranq, this cause two guards to come and investigate my building and I'm almost discovered, I grab the one as he enters and thanks to reflex mode I have just enough time to shoot the other (pacing a dart right beneath his helmet).

It had been a close call, the enemy was too well defended at this side of the base but there were people investigating the gunshot still at the other side. Its now I decide to blow the C4 I had planted earlier, blowing the communications. In the confusion I sneak up the stairs past two guards and slip over the wall,

When I covered enough distance the prisoner was fulton'ed away and having checked my map to see there was a landing zone near by I decide to call a helicopter in to bring me back to base. Just as it was arriving the sun began to rise, I couldn't have scripted it better.

so yesterday I decided to play for a few hours, thought I could beat ch 6 in around 30 min. 2 hours later, taking shortcuts that ended up dead ends and dying quite a bit, I finally had finished it. Holy crap, it got me on the edge of my seat

It's an upgrade to the scope that shows you the stats.

Gotta unlock that ability. Go through your RnD tabs.

It's an upgrade for the scope you need to research.

Goddamn. I've been avoiding fultoning people for fear of filling my base with shit stat soldiers. But that keeps my R&D lab rating down around 4....and I assume I need to get it to around 7 before I can get this upgrade.

Whelp, time to start sending everyone on a balloon ride....

Alright, got Quiet.

That cutscene afterwards was some crazy stuff.

Any tips on how to get to the Battle Gear Hangar in R&D?

Climbing all over and I just can't find the thing

How do you unlock Quiet?

I thought I was about to get her
until Miller told her to fuck off and Boss said he likes to work solo anyway.

What do I need to do?

For anyone who has finished the game.

After the "true" ending are there any more after this or is that the final ending? I assume completing the rest of the side ops will unlock more main missions?

does anyone know if you can get a cassette with the jpop version of love deterrence? if it involves story/mission spoilers don't tell me, but if it's just lying around somewhere I wouldn't mind knowing where. that song is my jam

I really... I really hope the 10012 error is related to the servers being hammered. My friends have some trouble too but at least they can get on. I haven't been able to get online even once and I've tried connecting too many times to count. Even reinstalled the game. I give up.

Yeah I haven't been able to get online at all either.

At the early point of the game, you just need to fill your base with warm bodies and you'll be able to get your R&D up. Hell, to beat two early story missions, you need to have R&D up to 12

So how useful are all the agents you can get form Ground zeroes, not sure I want to go to the trouble of catching the eye and the finger also the anti air mission is kicking my butt atm.

Figured I would share my gaming experience so far with you gents.

Tuesday - Got to the terms and conditions screen.

Wednesday - Listened to David Bowie and stopped at the "Press Button to Play" screen.
