So what did people build after the first R&D platform?

I have enough for one more, or should I save the resources? I keep seeing the medical bay or something mentioned, should I save it for that? Just completed the honey bee mission.

Oh, and it's 3:15am and I'm still playing and my landlord is coming over at 8:30am :(

Med bay won't cost you anything, it'll get built after a certain mission. Can't remember which one though.

It's kind of up to you, but I think I went for Intel. It won't matter too much for the first platforms, you'll soon gather enough resources for them all.

I, literally, didn't notice the time and read this and then was wondering where you were based.... then I realised... whoops. Game is the real deal. I literally just kept doing side ops saying "just one more, they're not too long."
 
I'm guessing when you revist a mission to take on additional objectives you only need to complete the unchecked ones as long as the primary one is met the objective completion stacks?

I have less than 50,000 Snake monies, and I wish I had more cause
I have no launcher, and I am using air strikes to destroy them.
It's damn tough and I hope I don't get stuck there.
 
so ive basically just started and my OCD kicked in where i dont want to touch the main story at all yet and i just wanna do all the marks on the map. Am i wasting my time? i just dont wanna miss anything important (like the so called medi scene)

??? tasks will become clear once a mission is completed. Context can be learned mid-mission by listening to guards, being patient, experimenting, thinking outside the box, etc.

Really though you shouldn't aim to complete all objectives on your first run. It's not like GoldenEye where they're mission expanding tasks. Sometimes they, most of the time they're contextual side stuff to do or methods in which to complete the mission, the latter of which can be exceptionally difficult if not impossible with early gear.

Like Peace Walker the missions are built around replay.

I was doing that and one of the paths I was taking to get to a side ops mission ended up giving me a story mission

Is there any reason to disable Comms equipment? I know it disrupts the radio but you've already alerted them by blowing it up. Is there another method here?

It's Peace Walker 2 for most part. Built on similar fundamentals, mostly done much better thanks to the a more robust gameplay formula and not being shackled by the shitty PSP hardware, while also trimming some of Peace Walker's staples (like obviously this has no co-op boss fights). But yes, generally, structurally, conceptually this is Peace Walker. Despite having an open world the missions themselves must be activated manually and a fragmented into episodes/chapters that encourage replay and play out of order. You'll spend a decent amount of time recruiting guards and researching shit at Mother Base. A lot of this isn't handled as well as I'd like, but you can automate tasks (like staff assignment) and if you lock down a playstyle you can mostly ignore researching crap you wont use.

Which version of MGSV would you guys buy if you owned a 4k TV and had a GTX 980 TI card:

1) the Steam version (which could play at 4k but probably with some settings turned down/frame skipping), or
2) the PS4 version (which will likely play silky smooth but has a cap on asset/lighting quality and will have to be upscaled from 1080p)
 
Question about the animal conservation platform.
Where do you find the smaller animals? I've caught a scorpion, some bats (which I assume are in the aviary), gerbils, and my soon to be pet, the leopard gecko. I wanted to look at them too!

either way youre not maxing out graphics so go PC imo

I have a GTX 980 Ti too. Basically your options are:

1) PS4 60fps@1080p with relatively mixed graphics settings, upscaled to 4K.
2) PC 60fps@1440p with everything maxed plus HBAO+, upscaled to 4K.
3) PC 60fps+/-@4K depending on graphical seeings, native 4K.

I don't really see any advantage to going PS4 in your scenario.

That doesn't sound so bad, especially automating of tasks. How would you rank this in the series? Peacewalker is my low, and my high is MGS3.

I once saw a mice I got in one of the mammals sections, it's very easy to not see. Those little animals are hard to see without the vegation, now imagine with all the grass there is there.

Well, fuck.

I just saw the med bay scene, and when I try to leave, it hits a black screen.

Since it autosaved in the room, every time I load my save, I get that fucking black screen. Please tell me a fix exists.

I'm pretty sure that's Miller. The exact same sound clip is in Ground Zeroes (which only had Miller and no Ocelot). Plus, Miller has trust issues after Peace Walker so he trusts very few people. Ocelot is surprisingly more open to other people (to be used, obviously)
 
Question for those who are up to mission 31.

How in the hell do I beat that? Even using my RPG and hitting the weak points it takes hardly any damage and then once it almost dies I have to RPG mantis and myself to death?
