You could just add context so people could help you better.

Do you care about Metal Gear Online and the Ground Zeroes carryover stuff? If yes get it on PS4, if not then get it on PC.
Unless your friends play on a specific platform, then ignore the above and just go where your friends are.
I agree with the turmoil sentiment - I'm glad this game released and is good.
But I cannot, and I mean that literally, think of a single positive reason to have the player redo old missions to advance.
Yep I do care about the carry over stuff... so might just roll the PS4 version - then again, the PC version is way cheaper, might be cheaper to buy GZ+V on PC than just the PS4 version...
1st world problems, at their finest.

Are all the repeat missions included in the 50 main missions or do you have to beat them separately to progress with the story?
Guess that soldier had his morale improve.

I'm on mission 15, my buddies are dhorse, ddog, dwalker, and quiet. Are there any more? Just curious.
Anyway, here's my quick assessment of each. Maybe I'm wrong on some, in which case I'd love to know.
So -- All in all, it seems to me that ddog is the best buddy in terms of pure practical usefulness. Quiet is very "cool" in how she seems to cover you, but in practical terms her usefulness seems limited. In open combat she'll take out a few dudes, if you are near one of her perches, but open combat is rarely the desired outcome -- So I guess I'd call her usefulness "situational".
- dhorse seems obsolete, because even if you want on the call runfast, dwalker can do that and more.
- ddog is quite useful and perhaps, at least to me, seems to be the most useful, because he marks everything. His "keep em busy" move has actually saved me a couple of times, too.
- dwalker I'm not sure the point outside of basically being the same as dhorse. why would you want to sneak around in it? you can't lay prone, etc. I don't understand what dwalker is "for". One time I left it behind and it aggroed soldiers just by sitting there. The only use I can imagine is if you upgrade it to have big weaponry, and then you have a bit more of a heavy combat action following you around.
- quiet seems somewhat useful. Sending her to a location and having her mark targets is nice, but ddog can do a better job of this (it seems to me) and without any micromanagement. Also, she won't provide cover or be able to really do anything unless you happen to be near one of her "points". Often you aren't. Her combat uses are minimal, or at least seem that way to me. Her "take a guy out who sees you" thing seems to interfere more than it helps, since if it's just one guy who sees me, I can take him out with tranqs or CQ during the slow mo, and she ruins that. If it's more than one guy who sees me and I couldn't have handled it on my own, then it makes no difference anyway whether she shoots one of them. If she shoots anyone she seems to raise alarm even if they're totally isolated. Enemies must notice the muzzle flash instantly or something.
Any box works.I'm still pretty early on. How/when do I get the boxes thattransfer me to different platforms at Mother Base?
so apparently you can customize weapons if you finish a certain string of side ops huh
any idea what these are?
looks like you can get a silenced sniper rifle way earlier by customizing one
Just a quick question. Some side ops when I complete them stay white with a tick and don't turn gray so I can get GMP from them again, any particular reason?
If we're talking barebones, just 3, PW, and GZ, but yes, the rest is almost essential as well.I am really considering buying this but the problem is that i have never played a MG game before. Do i need to play the old ones to understand the story?
Wait, HOW???

Man, all these R&D projects are overwhelming.
Also, where on earth can I find a Transportation Specialist? I really need to be able to fulton Vehicles at this point.

Metal Gear Solid 5 is a game you can enjoy from its gameplay alone, so buying it will never be a waste. If you've any interest in infiltration gameplay this game is for you.I am really considering buying this but the problem is that i have never played a MG game before. You'll need to have patience and experiment if you want an easier time with these missions. I think using everything you have at your disposal is the way to go so your approach will be different than the first time around because either some are Extreme difficulty where you die quick or others would be a game over if you get caught (no reflex mode or chicken hat allowed.)
I find the normal missions to be easy but the boss battles are annoying however I am sure with enough experimentation there would be a way to S rank them. Let me give you an example about a very early boss battle.Quiet 1 hit kills you. Isn't that annoying?
I am interested to see how many will still be able to continue after this because the story is damn good in it's insanity, mystery as well as it's philosophical aspects. It's just that this thing they are forcing you to go through is annoying. Once you get a story mission/cutscene though, you're like..
