Who Created & Directed this game again?

Seriously, credits before and after each mission? How needlessly self-indulgent. That's Metal Gear for ya, though. No one worships at the altar of Kojima more than Kojima.

Not saying it ain't so but you do know it's everyone involved in each mission and he wasn't involved in each mission? At lest in a writing sense etc.

I don't know why everyone is raving about Quiet. She is totally useless if you're trying to not set off alarms. She only ever detects like 1-2 guys when I send her to scout a base, then I can never use her because she'll set off alarms with her gun. She may be useful after getting a tranq gun, but to get her that you need to bring her on like 15-20 missions to get her affinity up.

DDog is the real deal. Extremely useful for spotting and taking out enemies silently.
I usually set quiet to scout a base that I'm headed to for a mission that's far away, and when I get to the base almost everyone has been tagged. Then I hang back and tell her to shoot people using the binoculars. In the ensuing panic that causes where they all realize they're being sniped at, I run around the back of them and do my thing.
If my aggro gets too high I just slip behind some cover and give her the fire command a few more times, and they forget all about me.
She definitely suits my play style though.
And I got her affinity up in just three missions. It really isn't so bad.

Sorry if this has been asked a lot, but did any get those soldiers with the tattoos on their faces yet? I just got to Africa and haven't seen them.

EDIT: These people, haven't seen them yet. Anyone?

Oh goddammit I got fiddled. E31
ended with the credits and I thought I had finished the game and was thoroughly disappointed. Then it shows: Chapter 1 and To be Continued....

I'm pretty sure I got them after I redeemed the code that came with GZ and finished a mission.

Has anyone else had the issue of subsequent gunsmith missions not opening up and doing so later? I'm going through the few side quests I didn't have finished and nothing's happening :/

Just finished missions 8 and 9. Mission 8 was a pain in the ass, I eventually
used C4 on the first tank and pelted the second with a mortar. But i forgot about the captain you have to kill so I had to hop on DHorse and chase his ass down to blow the truck up with a grenade launcher
. Mission 9 was so exhilarating though,
running around on DHorse and blowing up tanks to Rebel Yell and the Final Countdown. I also managed to extract the prisoner and get the special launcher, only letting one tank escape.
Oh, and when I got back to base, a certain little
puppy
was all grown up.

This game is fun

I hold triangle to Fulton a container and BB inexplicably climbs on it instead, gets spotted and puts the whole place on alert. This is how mission 3
0
spiralled out of control on my first time through. Not the first time that's happened, either.

People say Quiet becomes better once you max her out. Its so hard not to use DD though, fucker is adorable and useful from the start.

I fear they might even nerf DD. He is just sooooo good.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I imagine she's much better once you have some more sealth related gear...but damn...DD is so good. The only negative I have with him is how often he gets in my way when I am prone. I've tranqued him on accident more than once lol

Man, I don't know how some of you are going through the game so fast. Everything takes me so long. I think I'm almost 6 hours in and I'm just on mission 4.

Going back into each mission and having to complete every objective AND complete the mission again is really time consuming. Maybe I should just keep going and not worry about the extra objectives?

How are most of you guys going through it?

Get off the helicopter in the medical bay to check up on Quiet... The Final Countdown fades off from my helicopter and in her cell The Cure's "Friday I'm In Love" is playing on the invisible stereo...

I need to find that tape stat. Also, where the hell is Spandau Ballet's True? That's really the song that I want for my helicopter lolol.

I picked this up and started playing yesterday. I'm pretty casually into the series, but I've played them all and beaten all of them except Peace Walker which I just couldn't get into.

I'm digging it so far. I played like 5 hours, but only through Episode 2 as I went back to Episode 1 to try and finish up the secondary objectives. Still there as it got late.

My general impressions match a lot of those in the thread. I love the game play, love that you can go stealth, or guns blazing, but find the world a little barren. Some sub-quests could have more guidance--like extract the barracks commander. There's a lot of guards there and I quit for the night as it was late and I was getting tired of trying to find the right one.

Looking forward to playing more this weekend. I should probably focus more on moving the story along though as I'll get burnt out if I keep trying to do all the sub objectives and it's apparently a pretty long game even focusing on the main missions and side ops goals.

I did a similar thing on mission 8 except for the captain.
For him I jumped in the back of the truck and shot out the back window. Tranqed the driver then CQC slammed the captain when he jumped out. Originally I was trying to hit the tank driving in front of the truck by throwing grenades while we were moving but it didn't really work out.
It was fun but really highlighted that I need to develop RPGs.

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.
Yeah but how do you really use D-Horse, had him with me some missions and the bond didn´t move.

I think it's main missions only, just use the horse to go from A to B. That's it.

The horse is especially useful in Afghanistan because otherwise it takes you forever to get to your target.

interrogate soldiers and they will mark the commander on your map, right?

Ah. So I should skip that until I've gotten an interpreter I guess.

It seems like they shouldn't have put some of the extra objectives in the first few missions since they haven't unlocked, or explained, a lot of things that help with them yet.

I expect my copy to be delivered tomorrow. In the meantime, I've been playing Ground Zeroes, and there are two things that bother me:

1) There doesn't seem to be a way to dismiss the chopper. Apparently, the only way to get rid of it is to leave its vicinity.
2) Is it not possible to kill unconscious/tranquilized enemies using the knife? Can't figure out how. I'm using a gun instead, which is problematic if the suppressor wears down.

Assuming that indeed neither of those are possible in GZ and it's not just that I can't figure out how do these things, are they possible in TPP?

Question and possible gameplay spoilers regarding extracting certain soldiers/prisoners in Mission 10:

Looking for the Transportation Specialist so I can start Fultoning vehicles and cargo. How do I go about finding the right person?

Yea there's an option in the menu to dismiss the chopper in TPP

Look in the Ops list for what skills are available in which missions...then interrogate at camps etc for the specialist (or it may be a prisoner) etc. Not sure if there's a definitive list yet, early days etc.

So after going through what has happened with Quiet and everything, there is really no reason for her to dress like the way she does...absolutely none.
