Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
And why is it that some side-ops remain highlightable in white text even though I've beaten them? I can't seem to reactivate them. Seems to happen the most with extra highly-skilled experts, as if I haven't extracted all prisoners even though the game says I've completed them.

You might not be "over the level" for it to be beaten/no longer useful. That or you may not have space for the person at Mother Base despite the exaction being successful/mission complete.

I have this same problem but haven't pin-pointed the cause.

Two questions! :)

Do anti-air radar stations etc stay destroyed forever?

They're repeatable ops. You can run them over and over to get recruits and they'll count towards new mission completions.

Stupid questions but here it goes

1. Can I use weapons and gear I research on earlier levels or is it locked to the stuff I start with?

2. Are the large maps completely devoid of enemies and are at small outposts, bases and so on or are there patrols walking around?

3. What purpose does animals fill the game?

4. Any way to get more ammo for my double barrel shotgun?

So far for me, anti air radar placements that I've destroyed have stayed destroyed.

And those side ops are just redoable for GMP, or better times in the case of the mother base targets.

Mission 2
9
is another brutal difficulty spike I was completely unprepared for.
I have a real love/hate relationship with the Skulls. The beginning of mission 28 was fantastic - basically BB vs x4 supermobile The Ends. The very next mission, though, my God what an absolute fucking pain in the arse.

I keep hearing people complain about "filler" missions but the side ops are my favorite part.

Going back to old locations with my new equipment and tackling them in new ways is really satisfying so far.

Yes, you can change them by moving left and right on the item selected in the equipment screen. It's designated by the amount of stars.

2. Are the large maps completely devoid of enemies and are at small outposts, bases and so on or are there patrols walking around?
There are guards that go post-to-post (the transport truck, for example) and you'll have guards moving between them during states of alert sometimes as well.

3. What purpose does animals fill the game?
Not sure, but you get 500 GMP each time you extract one and when you unlock the animal conservation platform there are also plants to harvest on there.

Does anyone know if other accounts on my PS4 will be able to get items from my GZ save (or their save, I guess)? I want my bf to be able to have the
Solid Snake suit
, but because of Konami's bullshit with having to enter the code from GZ on their site, I'm not sure if it's possible.

Can anyone give me help with mission 3
2
?

It's the
hard version of the mission where you destroy the three com stations
. It isn't fun at all.

Isn't that 33? I saw a guy destroying the radar there so it creates a landing zone. Then he would deploy from there and destroy them with the chopper minigun.

Which one?

I used
the tanks
in the truck one.

I used
a shotgun and D-Walker (equipped with a minigun)
in the
Code-Talker
one. The trick is to
use 'Square' to dodge the blade attacks as they come, and try to fire all of your shotgun rounds into the Skulls. They do a lot of damage, and can remove their armour pretty well. After that get into D-Walker, head behind the warehouse with the plane (where they are more restricted in their movements) and shoot them with the minigun when they are doing the 'mist attack' (if you get too close it'll rust D-Walker).

For the
rescuing Code-Talker one
I
used Stealth Camo. Smoke grenades also work, but I didn't have the patience for it.

Cheers. Thank you.

Regarding that mission that was cut
I can accept that plotline not being finished in the game now I know it isn't, but now I'm scared it feels like the game doesn't really have an ending. Is this the case or is it just a case of that particular line not being tied up?

Okay thanks, I thought it was a glitch or something :)

Thanks! Man this game is loaded with weapons and I like it!

Does anyone know if any of the stun weapons, beside the riot smg get a silencer? They're already pretty quiet and the guards struggle to find you, but they still trigger the call that they heard gunfire.

I'm starting to wonder if my game bugged out and I won't be able to get the gunsmith. I did mission 107 hours ago and never got any follow up missions and I've done 5 or so extract infantry missions and I have all the translators :/

How did you do the
Skull missions on hard
? Barely anything I do is damaging them at all, and I'm near-enough dying in one hit
Not sure what your problem is, I think I saved my s rank of it, I'll check and upload it if I did.
just kill the
adds
and then focus one at a time is all I did.

Aim your weapon while prone, move the left analogue stick in the direction you want to roll, and click the stick in.

Ready your weapon and then press the LS in while tilting it L or R. I think. Not very intuitive since L3 is sprint when crouched/standing.

I've not tried this, but if you grab a MB soldier while doing these, maybe you can interrogate them and use the "Where are the rest?" option to make more appear?

Sweet thanks guys.

Any tips on the Mission titled Voices?

Skullface has Young Mantis and Fire Volgin chasing me, and have no idea what to do. Obviously I should use the water towers, but I blew up one over his head, and the other I blew up by mistake so can't use it anymore.

Now Kaz is telling me to get to the chopper but it's on the other side of the
blown up tunnel
and I can't access it. At this point I'm just running around trying not to die ;_;

My bad, it is. How people can come up with these things I'll never know. How would you even think of doing that?

Ok. So does Quiet not do a good job of scouting for anyone else as well? Do I need to keep using her for her to get better? DD is a boss. He catches everything. Quiet just seems to find some stuff and setup shop for sniping.

Sorry if this has been asked a lot, but did any get those soldiers with the tattoos on their faces yet? I just got to Africa and haven't seen them.

EDIT: These people, haven't seen them yet. Anyone?

Guys I want this answer with the less amount of spoilers posible.

What do you gain by getting 100% before the final act? A friend told me that it was super necessary for something

your friend wasn't telling the truth, it was a theory before, but it's been disproven, the ending was cut.

There are more spots to call a chopper, just look at your iDroid.

This is my first Metal Gear (well, second if you count Ground Zeros which I didn't like at all).

And I am so glad that I picked this one up. The story for now doesn't seem to complicated as everyone was telling me. I can follow it pretty well and it's quite interesting.

The first mission was amazing. For me it's up there with the intro of The Last Of Us.

The gameplay is fantastic. I love the openness and the many gameplay mechanics that work so well together. It's a crazy polished gameplay system and game overall.

I'm 4% in, so there will be a lot more to discover and infiltrate.

The best part about side ops is they don't judge you for killing or alerts. That's when you get to use the really fun toys like helicopter support and artillery bombardment.

Firstly, quickly call in the chopper, there's three landing zones right next to you. Then, go into that run-down building to the right as you came into area. On either side there should be a blue container. Shoot it when he's next to it. The chopper should have arrived by now so make a run for it before he recovers.

I don't know why everyone is raving about Quiet. She is totally useless if you're trying to not set off alarms. She only ever detects like 1-2 guys when I send her to scout a base, then I can never use her because she'll set off alarms with her gun. She may be useful after getting a tranq gun, but to get her that you need to bring her on like 15-20 missions to get her affinity up.

DDog is the real deal. Extremely useful for spotting and taking out enemies silently.

I feel like this thread is already passing me by just two days after release, and I've played for at least 8 hours. I like to explore more than some but I'd bet most people will be way ahead of me in the next couple days and the spoilers will start to register as common knowledge.

Well that was simple. Thanks dudes.

Kept getting thrown off when
Kaz was telling me to defeat him before I get on the chopper.

yea fuck this mission it brings out all the flaws in the game's controls. You hide behind a wall and then at a place in hopes that you'll shoot as soon as you pop out of cover and then hide back, and then press R1 to go into FPS mode but the camera decides to aim somewhere completely else and mess your pre aim. WTF kind of bullshit is that? Add to that the "sniper scope" of 4x is hilarious the bullet drop is quite inconsistent and very hard to gauge as you could aim above head and still not hit anywhere in the body. The hit detection is indeed wonky in this came as apparent everytime you try to headshot.

I don't wanna go against a OHKO auto aim enemy when I am battling controls and camera half of the time.

I finished the game and I don't know if this is the real ending or not....

Game ending spoilers, you have been warned.

People say Quiet becomes better once you max her out. Its so hard not to use DD though, fucker is adorable and useful from the start.

I fear they might even nerf DD. He is just sooooo good.

Who Created & Directed this game again?

Seriously, credits before and after each mission? How needlessly self-indulgent. That's Metal Gear for ya, though. No one worships at the altar of Kojima more than Kojima.

absolutely. And my silent sniper rifle is getting a ton of work in free roam

don't sweat it. Most of my friends are 5-10 main missions ahead of me despite us having similar play times

Play how you want. A game with this much customization is much better that way
