When does the animal part open up? Miller said that it was going to happen and that someone else was paying for food and all that, yet I can't find it in my base.
It doesn't show on the map. On the top right of the idroid map menu, you should see a prompt that says press triangle to go to the animal conservation platform.

How do i request a new suppressor?

And does supply restock once you go back to the base? because it doesn't seem like it does

Also i just met DD back at the base <3 <3 <3

I could develop the Stun Arm without finding the blue print (Side Op 6) and now I am stuck with Stun Arm level 1. As I don't have the blue print I can't develop it any further. Side Op 6 is gone too. Is this a bug?
Did the prosthesis guy die?

My new metal gear ps4 is overheating, fans going off like crazy. My mate just started using his today and his fans are going off worse than mine.

I have done over half the expansion of mother base now and only just got to Africa. I thought I would have hated the mother base micro managing but I'm obsessed.

Also regarding mission 12...

getting away from the metal gear was terrifying. I have never been scared playing a video game in my life. I got it on my 2nd attempt. I ran for my life between his legs and then down the right hand side of the road and luckily he never saw me.

Things I learned today:

Holding A/X while driving a vehicle will put you in stealth mode, similar to using d-horse's "stealth"

If you run over a pole carrying electric wire, the wire will fall down and electricity the car and you, forcibly ejecting you from the vehicle and making you do that weird stay awake qte.

Also if you return to mother base super gross and your relationship with quiet is maxed, instead of ocelot splashing you with water you take a shower with quiet instead

The buddies are so much fun to use, and each supplements playstyles in a totally different way. Really impressed with how well they got them to work.

Haven't had much time to play but I'm loving the game, Afghanistan is such a visually boring setting though, I'm already getting tired of lookig at rocks and sand. It's just too bland and repetitive, especially coming from something like Skellige in TW3.
Everything else is fantastic though. I can see mother base becoming a real addiction.

I feel like the economy is designed with the assumption that you will be buying a lot of the lethal weapons.

I've been only buying stealth stuff and the occasional explosives, and I constantly have way too much money.

I wish I could just shoot
Huey
in the head..turns more and more into a pile of shit as the game progresses and as I listen to the tapes.

Has anyone else ran into a problem on the PS4 version where you can't start the game?

I just keep getting an error saying: This save data cannot be used as the relevant downloadable content was not found.
Downloadable content can be re-downloaded from the PlayStation Store.

There is nothing on the PlayStation store for me to download and I can't do anything now. It worked fine since launch day and even earlier today but now it won't work for some reason.
I had this problem yesterday but that's because I played on a different PS4 than last time and thus actually had to download some stuff from psn (the day 1 stuff). Which I couldn't, because PSN was down so I was unable to play the entire evening.

Did you move your save file or play on different Ps4s maybe? If not I have no idea what the problem might be.

DLC for the game can be found by pressing down when hovering over the MGSV icon in the home menu, and then look for Add-ons somewhere in the menu. Going to the PS Store never works for me. So maybe try that?

So wait, is the story really not good in this?

No spoilers please.

I used to think it was good but spread out thin.
Now that I think about it some more it actually comes out as one of the worst in the series, worse than even MGS4.

The subject matter is handled extremely poorly, things get introduced and are left hanging in the middle with little exposition, and everyone just has a weird personality even for an MGS game.

It's a matter of Kojima wanting to try something different but only half heartedly, combined with the fact that the game itself is an unfinished game that needed some more time in development.

Yep, though I still think the horse shouldn't be a buddy, just something that's always around. Running to objectives further than a kilometer away is annoying.

Good to know, thanks!

D-horse is kinda useless in stealth though.

I dunno man, I used the "Horse Stealth™" during a mission where I had to blow up some tanks and it was a life saver when I had to get past a base quickly.

traversal in this game is garbage. all the bullshit in between the very fun missions ensures this can't be a GOTY for me (that's not necessarily a bad thing though, I came out very impressed by witcher 3 and to lesser extent life is strange and arkham knight)

like it's seriously a chore, even with the horse, if you don't have a chopper drop point near your mission. and i find it kinda annoying how much grinding i got to do to unlock some weapons i want. i have to keep analyzing a bunch of soldiers in order to spruce up my r&d and especially medical (this is the real hard one)

post game spoiler help please

Where is the AI pod?
I'm at the warehouse where I saw it last but it's not there now, where is it? =/

Just got to Africa. I immediately though of Snake Eater when I was first dropped in, but it's pretty distinctive in its own right.

Also where do I get a transportation specialist? I need one so I can finally lift up cars via the fulton. My next merc mission requires I have a car but I don't even have the proper fulton upgrade.

I love it. Thrown myself in a Jeep and driving from outpost to outpost to my next objective, taking over guard posts along the way and fultoning them out is just so much fun for me.

Difficulty spike at the beginning of Africa is really weird though, the first story mission in the region was far harder than anything before.

Agreed.

TPP is a big disappointment in pretty much every way.

Completed Mission 8.
Had a rocket equipped and ready but a crazy idea decided to pop into my head. Why not use an air strike instead? I was actually surprised one of my strikes managed to take out one tank while it was en route to its destination. I used a strike to take out the 2nd tank once it reached its final destination. Was able to extract the target and also a prisoner and had no alerts. Got penalized and got a B rank but I have no complaints.

And now I have my Combat Unit unlocked. CU platform is being built and I already have a few people on a mission

Whoever thought that having Quiet hum a 4 seconds loop with a kazoo NON STOP was a good idea?
This is some Vuvuzela WC2010 level nightmare.

I think they should have the helicopter be quicker and easier to access and use to move around in (also not have it cost 40 million dollars every time), otherwise i think the traversal offers many good moments like having to run away from a Hotzone and such.

There are a couple of design decisions that leave me a bit puzzled.
For example Fultoning is too trivial, many extract missions become far to easy in that way, you just to get the target to a clear sky and you're done.

If you had to take them out of the hotzone to the helicopter, things would get much more interesting.
It makes sense for extra prisoners, as i don't want to be doing back and forth 40 times, but for the main guy it'd be cool if it required a bit more thought put into it.

Game is still ace though and so far, firmly my GOTY (like, the others aren't even close for me).

Awesome! For anyone who was scared about the battle gear disappearing, it seems to just come back after some time, I've been trying to S rank/do mission tasks for past missions and it's come back now!
Gonna wait till I get more S rank soldiers though, before deploying it again. 56% success chance is too low, ha ha

Oh God, I really hope this is not the case, at the moment I'm playing through MGS4 for the first time in preparation for V and I'm seriously underwhelmed by everything plot-related.
I have to say I'm surprised by the negativity surrounding MGSV's plot, because from the trailers it looked like it could have been interesting, a "Fallen Hero" kind of story would have suited Big Boss' character nicely I think.

Quiet makes a noise every time she has a guy's head in her sights. It's the same as DD's bark.

Also there are missions where you can't fulton targets. If they're injured badly the game doesn't let you. You have to chopper extract them. It's great.

Traversal is fine imo.

> whenever you deploy, deploy with a car
> unlock every invoice point
> whenever extracting and a mission is done, just pause the game and choose 'Return to the ACC'. Skips all the bullshit finding chopper points. Just make sure you prompt a save by messing with staff management or starting a combat deployment

D-horse is kinda useless in stealth though.

Wat

You can literally walk into a base, get a prisoner, then walk out, without any guards knowing, if you use D-Horse right.

By the way, could anyone tell me (in spoilers preferably so others don't see it) where can I find the tape with Take On Me? Is Final Countdown collectable too somewhere?

Combat deployments and the way the game attempts to prevent you from doing things needs work

I spent like 4 hours yesterday sending combat deployments to take out decoys and flashlights body armor riot gear etc etc

I failed the tank side mission twice on purpose and now everything is back with more included

Man that mission 16, I really hate when it turns from sneaky sneaky to pure shooter. Also the asked me if I want to wear chicken hat, I've seen it in screenshots and trailers but what does it do?

So... having not played the game yet: is Quiet's outfit in the game as distracting as the promotional materials make it out to be? I honestly cannot see myself taking her seriously as a character, Kojima's asinine reasonings be damned.

You can see what specialist is available each mission by looking at the mission list
it's mission 10, one the the three prisoners at the first area
