Holy shit. This game.
I Think about it all the time.
I have put this game's songs on my cellphone.
At work, I cant wait to get home and play this.
I even DREAM with this.

I have never felt this in 13 years, since I played Zelda OoT.

Thank you, Kojima. Thank you very much

This is exactly how I feel. At work last night I couldn't stop thinking about the mission I had played before I left and how I could have done it better. What I needed to do differently after thinking about it. Sitting back at work now doing the exact same thing. This game is a very addicting drug and I seriously need my fix!

You can get female recruits. For the longest time I just assumed there were none, but here we are.

"There's a photo of the thing on your iDroid"

Feeling really fucking stupid but was it ever explained how to see these photos?

Open up your iDroid and go to the mission tab. They are in the bottom right. Sometimes you can go through multiple photos with the dpad.

I think it was never really explained. There is a surprising amount of stuff not explained that much in this game like the card box fast travel for example.

I don't have any more yellow main missions, just ones with
Subsistence and Extreme etc
do I have to do those to advance?

Is it just my connection or something? I can't connect online. Well... it did when I started playing tonight but dropped like 30 minutes later and now I can't. To be honest I'm not even sure the point of such a thing yet but it's annoying me to see the error.

Any hints for mission 40, shit is rough :-/
You really just need to take it slow and carefully and with a fully upgraded sniper preferably. I didn't check but battle armour might let you take a hit.

That mission isn't needed to finish the game though, so you could just skip it.

So what is with the whole
Medbay scene? Was GZ events correct, or is Snake remembering theme correctly after the accident, making what the player saw only a figment of Snakes imagination up until PP? Why was both events happening at the same time in the scene? Is it just a Kojima twist that she survived and we didn't see the whole scene before?
If its explained later, don't tell me, that scene is as far as I have gotten.

It's explained later.

So wait, is the story really not good in this?

No spoilers please.

Fans will see the twist coming , ocelots voice acting is so bad it sounds like he's two different people half the time, like two interesting characters, tape execution is poorly designed. barely anything happens.Etc etc.

story is just kinda there, I was engaged with the story a few times, apart from that i was playing the "which trailer is this scene from" game.

Man Mission 14 is the most boring shit

It's pretty short though.

I just did it, I screwed up and immediately fultoned the interpreter, but thanks to this I gained the ability to interrogate CFA soldiers. One of the soldiers gave me the location of prisoners list and from there I went straight for the Viscount

Is there a guide somewhere telling me which
missions I need to finish to beat the game? I think the fact that they just give you the same ones but harder is really weak and I just want to be at the end. I have 34, 37, 39, 40 and 42 currently to do.

Spoilers are general mission system based.

wish you could skip the chopper dropping you off animation. its starting to annoy me, i just wanna get in the action and that stuff delays it.

Exactly, it's shocking how much crap is never explained. Just bad design.

You don't need to do any of the hard mode ones. I had to do a couple of side ops things to get the end mission to trigger though.

Ohhh man, that first Metal Gear appearance.

Question: When can I get one of my own
little walker/metal gear things
?

I can't believe how repetitive and recycled the areas are for the first 10 missions. Did they really look at this mission design and think it was a good idea for a MGS game?

On mission 28 how do you extract
the skulls
?

I used non-lethal and then the fulton % was at 0. Something I have to revisit later?

You eventually get a side op to visit her at the medbay. Ocelot will tell you that she can assist you in the battlefield and after a couple of missions she will become available as a buddy. For me she became available during the second Africa mission

Choose a character who has the tough guy perk and put battle armour on.
The problem with fight is that it leaves close to no room for error.
You can pop out for a bit and go back so that she fires, then you have 2 seconds to aim and fire at her. You have to do this about 6-7 times.

Sniper battles against auto aim bots are not really fun, this one time she was aiming somewhere completely else and then I pop my head out a little bit and her entire character model just spins and she points the gun at my head.

That is just terrible way to do AI.

I think you have to revisit in a few missions time with an upgrade.

Thank God, it's kicking my ass.

Plus, I've not tried it yet, but I'm hating the idea already of playing an Extreme version of Traitor's Caravan >_<

All those variants are optional. Even the key items don't require them.
Ninja and Raiden unlocks.

You get one through the story.

Ty.

Just did a main mission with
no gear! was fun
I wish there were more of these and less of the European Extreme versions of missions.

A series that has historically had a lot of backtracking? Yeah, I can see their logic.

I'm around mission 10 and I'm getting a little better. I still kinda suck at going in completely stealthy and non-lethally.

Usually I can get in, but getting out is the hard part and I run off while everyone is shooting at me.

Also guards are starting to wear more helmets and gasmasks, so my preferred way of doing things is getting to be more difficult.

About to start that mission myself. Can't you just have Quiet deal with them?

I used Quiet but she wasn't much help. I
called an air strike on the Skulls but 1 lived. Quiet took a shot, the Skull disappeared and I think he ran to her and knocked her out bc all of her actions were grayed out for the rest of the mission.
