TGS 2015 Predictions & Discussion thread

Man the lack of hype/news for TGS is really bothering me.

The major news for console owners will be at Sony's pre TGS show, not at the actual show, which was progressively gotten more mobile dominated.

Of course we could still hopefully have some surprises..

It reminds me of people literally saying the same thing before this years E3. Particularly about Sony because they weren't saying anything. The leaks for them literally started coming out days before the show started. Yu Suzuki tweeting a forklift two days before the event and then Siliconera leaking FF7's remake.

Even then, that's the equivalent of saying that the major news for E3 or Gamescom happens at the conferences and not the show floor. It's the norm for all of the shows like this; there'll still be the usual interesting developer specific presentations and gameplay demonstrations at TGS itself.

Yeah I meant Sony's pre-TGS conference. It's just easier to say TGS :P

What do you mean? There's been plenty of news and hype lately. The SCEJA Press Conference was announced a few days ago, and Capcom and Square Enix's TGS lineup was announced last week. People can't just go at 110% discussing the same stuff forever. People were talking about how concerned they were for the supposed "lack of hype" for E3 2015 earlier this year too, and look at how that turned out.

I meant the lack of teases/leaks/insiders.

I know it'll probably be great (like last year) but the fact that almost no one is talking about it (at least not in here) is kinda unsettling.

We said literally exactly the same during E3. Hype thread full of people going "they aren't spoiling, do they even have anything?". See what happened?

Can someone remind me, because i forgot, do the TGS streams usually have an English dub over the top?

Also I would add Yokai Sangokushi (Level 5) to that OP list as a maybe.

not only that, it's still a little bit away, it's later in September this year. Still got 3 weeks.

I think it would be nice to see none of tha for a change so we can actually be surprised. I was hype for E3 reveals, but when i actually heard about the games before they were shown, it kinda took the fun out of it

There have been quite a few teases along with a number of possibilities for this year

- Atlus x Vanillaware's new project is going to be announced in September. TGS is the obvious place for it
- Sega said that they're planning to reveal a new game at TGS
- Bloodborne expansion
- Gravity Rush 2 and GR remaster announcement
- New Disaster Report
- Level 5's PS4 game that was supposed to be announced at E3
- Square's Project Setsuna
- Persona 5 date
- Kadokawa's PS games

You also have the new showings for games we already know about but haven't seen much of like The Last Guardian, Tales of Berseria, Ys, The World of Final Fantasy, FFXV (?), Kingdom Hearts 3 (?), Nier (?) etc. Then there are obviously things that aren't even rumored. Remember last year that the Dragon Quest Heroes announcement came out of nowhere. There were no rumors about it before the show.

After reading your post I feel a lot more excited for TGS so thanks for that :)

Koei Tecmo will be there too guys! Don't forget!

Well, there's the DOAX3 final roster already confirmed to be announced there.
And as said on previous pages, I'm still betting on NG4 :p
But yeah, guess the Warriors series is finally getting to that next step in terms of gameplay?

I wouldn't hold my breath.

Though I kinda like how PW3 plays so it won't be a big deal for me if they stay the same

I think the only information that we got prior to the pre TGS conference was Verendus mentioning that DQ would be returning to PS although he didn't specify in what form at the time lol.

Zhuge made a thread earlier this year about the 15th Anniversary DW title they're currently working on

Koei will not change the 1vs1000 concept nor the historical stories
They are looking to revamp gameplay and introduce some potentially drastic changes
Focus more on quality and experience
Create higher quality movesets with more actions that the player can perform.
Weapon animations from DW8 to be used as a base, maybe?
More emphasis on story with different paths and improved enemy and friendly AI
Introduce new varied terrain and destructible battlefields.
Open world concept? Multiplayer drop in concept?

From time to time, i wonder what Gavin Moore (game and art director on Puppeteer) is doing and if he is still at Sony Japan Studio (from his tweets, i have the impression he is?). Admittedly, Puppeteer wasn't perfect but i always kept hoping we'd see something new from the team who did Puppeteer. It was just so imaginative and different, especially from a presentation point of view. After the sales failure of Puppeteer, he mentioned doing smaller scale projects from now on but it's been silent ever since.

I think Puppeteer should have been a Ps4 launch title, it would have sold more copies, it is very important in my opinion for games with creative gameplay / art design to be profitable, games like Puppeteer or tearaway, maybe that would encourage more publishers outside indie developers to make more games like these.

Sega will be opening their TGS website on the 10th

Yeah. Can't wait.

Oh yeah, since it's already announced I hope they show more of Tales of Berseria there.

ten days till Sony's conference, still no real rumours/leaks right?

There was that Twitter tease from Sony that could, possibly, maybe be hinting at a new Boku no Natsuyasumi, but it's a bit of a stretch and, quite frankly, not something that a whole lot of people would give a shit about, barring me and 6 other individuals.

Been trying to update the OP game list with relevant information... there are a lot of games, heh. Being the biggest TGS ever with the most exhibitors since 2004 is no joke.

It'd actually be a disappointment if this show turns out to be boring rather than it being expected.

Got a link? I missed this.

Yeah I've got high hopes. Timing seems right for a lot of things to be announced (and get new info on announced games).

Production I.G being present at TGS makes me feel that they might be showing off a bit of the animation that they did for Persona 5...perhaps the opening/awakening scene with storyboards and stuff? If that happens, it will be pretty cool.

Sure thing. Here's my post on the matter, and if you click the image it'll take you to the Twitter page itself...

Posted on PlayStation Japan's official Twitter account earlier today...

Apparently it could be a teaser for a new Boku no Natsuyasumi. This is written alongside it...

夏休みの宿題、もう終わった?

I recognise Natsuyasumi at the start, but I can't read the rest. Anyone?

I'm kinda shitting my pants in excitement right now.

Somebody was able to translate the sentence and told me it read "Have you finished your summer holiday homework yet?" So yeah, no idea if it's alluding to a new game or not. Could just be a bit of generic hype-mongering, as in "Get your work out of the way, 'cos there's fun and games ahead!"

Ah, cool thanks. Even if it's just trying to build generic hype, that suggests they are packing something which is good enough for me.

I have my fingers crossed for a new Suikoden, with a lot of movement on the franchise in the past year I have to hear something this year.

If something is announced I will be doing a Michael Huber reaction for Shenmue impression.

What do you want, sequel? Reboot? Remake?
