what sort of missions will MGO have?

Uh... Team Deathmatch. Team Deathmatch while one player sneaks/Team Sneak, Team Deathmatch while players Capture the Flag/CTF, Team Deathmatch while everyone is on their own teams/FFA...

So, the enemies adapting to your tactics is u ter bullshit right? I almost never tranq enemies but sure enough nearly 10 missions in and most bad guys are wearing helmets. Pretty sure they just get harder regardless.

No, they definitely adapt to your tactics.

Post mission 31 spoiler.

Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god.
Coming in Chapter 2.... FUUUUUCCCCCKKKKK there's significantly more!?!!?

Also - soldiers who are scared of Quiet and just shooting wildly towards the direction of her sniper fire are hilarious. Never have I seen such completely terror on display in the form of heavy, sustained, erratic machine gun fire!! :D lol

I've had her shoot a few unarmored enemies into sleep to the point where the rest of the base will promptly rush out of the base and up the mountain away from her before. It made me laugh hard at the display.

Check out my new swag, brehs.

There are scropted enemies that com equipped a certain way as a spdesign choice. The rest will adapt. Get 40 hours in and you will see how crazy they get.

I feel like FOB's really bugged my game out or something, I unlocked mine after finishing mission 22 and because the servers are shit i went into offline mode, now i feel like whenever i extract some one it doesn't register, the security forces team even though it was level 11 always gets reset back down to 3 some how but i don't think it was by auto sort.

I dunno what's going on here but this is frustrating.

My MB personnel counter was at 458 before a mission and after a mission where i extracted 9 dudes it was still at 458, do the members in the brig not get counted in that number?

Edit: Yep I just confirmed none of my progress is "saving" beyond mission completion stuff.

My GMP goes up by 100k after I finish a mission but then as soon as I start another side op it's back down 100k, my sniper rifle has been perpetually at 1 minute to completion, it'll finish during the mission and then the next mission it'll be back at 1minute left. What the fuck.

FOB is pretty darn sweet when it works. The servers are such a mess. You can maybe get one invasion in before you get logged out again. My defenses are starting to hold even without me. I can do well invading until someone comes in, the home field advantage is gigantic. I have no clue how to complete an inavsion with a human protector. Even if you take them out they are out for only a few seconds.

I do miss the codec calls, for the reason that I enjoy the discussion between two characters as opposed to Ocelot telling me something on the fly and that's it.

Hey guys, just started the game today, done just a few missions.

Will the game, at some point, tell me when people can start to attack my base? Can it happen when I'm not playing? I don't think I want that mode activated, do I loose something else if I go offline?

Check out my new swag, brehs.

OK, I need that. Now.

You should be able to do the F.O.B. tutorial(s) while offline. I was able to. You'll be "invaded" during Mission 21 or so the first time. If not that, do Mission 22 again and it should allow you to tutorial.

The real Phantom Pain is DD getting hurt.

Oh my god, that launch on DD and then shooting the Zebra is slaying me.

I just love how kojima goes deep with background research, the political/historical accuracy is amazing. I.E Hamid fighters = ISI's head at the time aka hamid gul, also known as the father of taliban.

I did that invasion story mission but after that the whole thing got screwed up, I can't do the tutorial while in offline and it seems to be bugging my whole game out.

I understand the adapting (Afghanistan is full of helmets, shields, gas masks, and the odd sniper), but I'm not entirely sure how it's conveyed on the map. The little icons are either blue or red and seem to alternate between them.

Ugh

thought it might have coop missions etc

No. MGO has never been a co-op. It's PvP. You have two options for multiplayer:

Invasions/Single-player PvP or MGO/Team-Based PvP. That's it.

It should kick you into the whole "invade your own F.O.B." after making the F.O.B. tutorials if it isn't doing that, I dunno what is causing it. It can't be the online, because I was able to do those with the servers being shit. Maybe try to login and once logged in it should kick you the tutorials so where it craps out again it'll allow you to set up an F.O.B. and practice invading your own base to test your security.

You're listening to all the tapes right? They're basically the same thing as the longer optional codec calls, but now you can listen to them while playing.

I just did the mission to bring in
Huey
. Is there any way to get to the room where he's at in Mother Base like with Quiet?

Where the hell do you get the puppy? I can't find him anywhere.

And besides "just cuz," what does deploying as not Snake do?

Deploys you as not Big Boss.

...*bah-dum-psh*... Okay, really? If one of your combat crew members has a special skill like "climb faster on ladders" that ability is applied while in the field. Otherwise their combat skill is how fast they draw guns, climb ladders, and CQC IIRC.

Still only like 7 hours in, but the more I play, the more I feel like this might just be the best video game ever.

It did kick me to that but when I tried to invade myself it just said failed to create mission.

It makes Miller and Ocelot look like lunatics, calling some random recruit Boss.

But really, some of them have different abilities from Boss to shake things up, like faster running or climbing, or extended reflex time, which makes up for the loss of Boss' bionic arm. I dunno if their health is different, but I'd imagine their combat rank plays into things somehow. They also look different and talk as much as Snake, so it's really a gamechanger. (Note that they are not reflected in cutscenes, though.)

I feel horrible for saying this but I think the game might be too long for me. I really miss the heavy action cutscenes and wild story of the previous games, but right now I'm 14 hours in, only 6% done, and the only real story ive seen was the intro, whereas I could probably beat a few of the other games combined in 14 hours. :(

don't get me wrong, I'm having a blast playing, but I just miss how story dense the previous games were. I might just skip all side ops. I don't got time for this T___T. love the replayability though!

Listen to all the tapes. There are hours worth of them and they're very well done. There's also actually quite a few cutscenes in the main missions, it just feels like less if you're doing lots of side ops and exploration.

hey I just had a few questions if people would answer if you can.

is there a way to stop mother base from auto assigning fultoned soldiers, when i fulton them they are already placed in a group, is there a way to keep them in the waiting room and then assign them myself when I am done a mission?

Sadly no. Unless things change later on, any people you extract are automatically assigned to a team, which for the most part works well, even though there can be some mistakes.

The only thing you can do is manually put staff in the Waiting Room and put them on a Contact (I think it's L2 for the PS4). Any staff on a contract should never be auto-assigned in the future, so in this case, they'll always stay in the Waiting Room.

Just beat mission 12 and half-way through 13 now.

The game continues to amaze from a gameplay perspective the thrill of sneaking through that out-past full-stealth whilst attempting to avoid
d-walkers, armored guards and a FUCKING helicopter
was some of the best stealth gameplay I have ever experienced.

The structure of the game leaves a lot to be desired it's definitely sacrificed a lot of those small things that made MGS.. MGS. Fortunately I feel the design of the gameplay systems is pure MGS and I'm loving how the game progresses by increasing the amount of tools you can access etc. Love using the decoy thing and d-dog in the game.

And I can't believe I've spent 15 hours on this game already and have only just set foot in
Africa...
