The game's name was leaked as a dedicated game Bandai Namco will showcase at TGS 2015.

Granzella is the Japanese game studio formed by Kazuma Kujo, who headed many projects for Irem, like Disaster Report and Steambot Chronicles.

Was hoping for Disaster report, but a RPG/action adventure(? not sure what the genre is) by Granzella could be cool, especially if they use similar system to Steambot Chronicle.

This does not look like what I expected! But it might be troll! It has to be Disaster Report! Nooooooo!

There's additional text in the source btw. It says something like "Approaching the castle with a sword in hand. With just a horse. Before me lies an imaginary city shrouded in shadow."

What is this?!

disaster strikes in the most unlikely of places

Guessing this is in addition to DR4 which I'm pretty sure is gonna come out this year. It's probably their next game.

He said they were developing a few titles at once, I'm pretty sure. It seems like almost the entirety of Irem's game division has ended up at his company. I think Kujo is still doing a new Disaster Report as well. Don't worry. :)

Also, I hope this isn't yet another Action RPG. Let's see some love for Tactical RPGs.

You're the first one I thought when I read Granzella =P

Hold onto hope, maybe there is a destroyed city inside the castle =P

like Disaster Report and Steambot Chronicles.

I hope it's more like Disaster Report and less like Steambot Chronicles then =X

But it looks interesting enough. If it is an RPG I'll give it a chance... But I am definitely not going to be interested until the game is out and people say its good.

Hey, it can be a historical Disaster Report set in the 1300-1400.

incoming fake out
each day the camera will pan out a bit more to reveal that the first day was just a picture in a building falling apart

*sigh* That image was so cool, too. But if you look close enough the edges look like a building. Oh well. :(

I think you're on to it. Love having these guys back, they're sense of humor (and games) were well missed.

I see slogan billboard saying "let's follow traffic rules.." something, governmental I suppose.
The picture really looks like a shattered building with "City Shrouded in Shadow Granzella" being displayed at the TV or some kind of display.
That sounds like a TV, comic book or some "play within a play" of this game.

Yeah it feels more & more like the Disaster Report.

Phew. I had missed that first teaser pic and my heart sank when I opened the thread.

Glad it was apparently just a nice bit of trolling.

7 day countdown

The website, pictured above, has since zoomed out its starting state to reveal its original fantasy picture is only an image on a city building screen. The side of the image now features the text “Giant Shadow Newsflash,” and the bottom features the scrolling text, “A huge shadow has appeared on the outskirts of the city. It’s moving towards the central part of town. As a a result, transportation facilities are interrupted.”

Could someone please provide a rough translation of what the site says right now? Is it still talking about a giant shadow causing the transportation lines to be closed?

I liked the first two games, so I'm looking forward to this. But I hope it isn't supernatural, the shadow bit is kinda throwing me off.

I'd really love it, BTW, if "City Shrouded in Shadow" turned out to actually be a fable woven into the storyline of the next Disaster Report.

I think it would be neat if there was this fantasy story the character was maybe daydreaming about or reading in a book or watching on TV or telling a sibling about before the reality of the world crashed through. Maybe it could be graphics in advertisements found in the falling-down city (with subtle context related to what you are playing,) or maybe it could be something that the character was told as a child when they were afraid and now that story could give them heart as they heroically seek light while submerged in such darkness.

Project "City Shrouded in Shadow" (tentative)
PS4/Vita confirmed.

Edit: Okay at the site Kujo says Disaster Report is in development, so this must be something different.

This is likely the Disaster Report inspired project Kujo said they were making before they bought the IP.

Well, if its two Disaster Report games, one official, the other not, it is even better ;)

Seeing these are being published by Bandai Namco, it is "safe" to assume an English release will happen?
