Do you think malbert will last past this this thread?

...and by this thread's reasoning, every 3d game ever sucks (sux?), since they all have those problems occasionally.
I would hope there is still some basic human compassion left here.

Yeah, but you would think, however, with a flagship title such as "Madden" they would at least attempt to make an effort.

Yeah, because Madden is such a shoddy game, all those 9s it gets in reviews are really just upside-down 6s. Explain how they "don't even attempt to make an effort".

What?

Actually the most disappointing thing about this thread... is that Instigator didn't start it...

I'm just saddened that with the number of eloquent advocates of the Sega line, GAF was graced by two, not just one, of the lamer representatives. I weep.....

Otherwise, looks great! :)

They're in Chicago...

Anyway, I've never seen a game in the 3d era that is free of minor graphical glitches such as tearing, pop-up, clipping, or random animation misshaps. You're kidding yourself if you think graphical perfection is out there...

I'm not looking for perfection, just the absensce of stupidity... which I won't find amongst this group of EA fanboys.

"I think there's plenty of room for competition," said Probst. "At the end of the day its who can build the highest quality products. There's plenty of room for other third party companies - and console first-party companies - to do that. Just because EA Sports and ESPN are partnering I don't think people are going to run for the hills and not compete with us."

The majority of publications have been scoring the game anywhere from 8.0 to 9.0... sure this is a great score, but it's not the greatest Madden game, nor as good as the previous 2 iterations. So, with full run with the NFL and ESPN license, where has the effort been placed? Or could EA have done what everyone was afraid they were going to do... that is sit on their money pit franchise and release the same old game? You tell me where the innovation and effort is.

I have an idea... why don't you stop posting... you are not adding anything useful to this thread besides your useless insults. If you're a fan of the 2k series, why don't you add something to this conversation? Or have your nuts not fully dropped yet and you're too afraid to be flamed by these EA elitest gaming dorks?

I'm not defending EA here, I just saying that you're nitpicking at something that EVERY VIDEOGAME SINCE THE 3D ERA BEGAN has in common.

If you want to come in here and act like a jackass, you're going to find yourself banned. You don't need to be calling people stupid, especially after such a blatantly transparent argument that you yourself brought to the table.

Whats the point? I mean honestly do you think your adding anything to the conversation? Ea has the NFl license it's over none of your crying and whining is going to change that. And I never insulted you infact I wasn't even talking to you....

Am I the only one that has read this thread in it's entirety? If acting like a jackass is enough to get you banned, then this thread would have been only 3 posts in...

1. I did not call anyone "stupid"
2. I think if you actually read the full thread, you will see people have said much worse. How about the first reply to my post, someone calling me "retarded"? You really don't have to look far.
3. Blatantly transparent argument? What is blatantly transparent and where is the arguement?

Wow. You are retarded. And its spelled "sucks", not Sux.

I'm no grammar expert, but I don't usually correct people either. Unless they are correcting other people and I see a mistake in theirs...

I'm sorry but "Wow." is not a sentence and you should avoid starting a sentence with "And". Also, you meant "it's" not "its". To be honest, you should just avoid correcting anyone altogether with your remedial grammar level.

I know you were just correcting his spelling, but the thing is, he obviously spelled it that way on purpose (an internet 'thang') whereas you just have bad grammar naturally.

Hey dipshit, the ESPN licensing with Madden doesn't begin until next year. Have you even played the game? Tell me if you can find an ESPN logo in the game and you get a cookie.

You tell me where the innovation and effort is.

Hmm, the quarterback vision mode is grander than any innovation the 2k series has done since its inception. First person football? The Crib? Please...

Crying and whining? I did not comment on the EA and NFL license until the 68th post.

... so... what was your arguement again?

Was is your arguement? Im not the one who started this idiotic excuse for a thread, you did and it backfired on you and everyoned owned your ass.. how is that a conversation?

"Innovation"? How about Gimmick?

Something as small as the entire ESPN integration into the 2k series is better then ANYTHING EA has added to this iteration of Madden.

Seriously now... you're only making yourself look stupid. If anyone backs you up on that ridiculous comment, we'll quickly know they're nothing more then an EA fanboy.

I got exactly what I knew I was going to get out of it... nothing more then a bunch of EA elitest gaming dorks flaming me. I knew what I was getting into.

Mallrat, I totally agree about the QB vision thing. I mean, you really gotta read the defense, and o-line stunts are crucial. Not to mention...
If anyone backs you up on that ridiculous comment, we'll quickly know they're nothing more then an EA fanboy.

OH NOOOOOES!!!

I have only bought 2 Madden games since Madden '99. I think the vision cone is awesome. It makes the game closer to real life than any other improvement in a long time. If a QB can't see the receiver, he can't really throw that well, can he?

Look man, I bought NFL2k3, 2k4, and 2k5. I used to swear it was the best football series until I really started comparing the two closely. Madden is closer to the real deal.

Stop throwing around the word fanboy and just back out of this bitch fest you've gotten yourself into. You sound like a 7 year old girl who just had their Barbie stepped on my an older brother.

That's about par for the course, for madden manuals. ;)
It used to not be that way. I remember the old Genesis Madden games having incredible manuals. They actually had a lot of technical breakdows of all the plays in the game with Madden describing everything in some detail. I studied those things like you wouldn't believe, haha. :D

Sure... if a QB can't see the receiver, his throw is going to be off. Guess what though, this is NOT a "new innovative" feature that Madden added. I'm sorry, but this is nothing new to football games... all EA did was add a "cone of vision" so that people that can't tell where they're QB is facing will have an easier time completing passes. The fact that a QB's accuracy is better when he is lined up facing a receiver is nothing new.

How do I get banned for the Armstrong thread in OT while this guy posts obvious (but true) flamebait in here? :lol

I hear ya man :D I do remember those days. I guess nowadays we'll just have to find all the little nuances during practice mode.

This was back when EA cared about what they put out because they were still trying to win the loyalty of the gamers. Now they have that loyalty, they can put out crap and you EA FANBOYS will eat it up like it's candy.

Actually I find Quarterback Vision to be innovative. However it is a small improvement and the "career mode" or whatever it is called is laughable.

During my first game in Madden '06, as the final seconds of the first half were winding down, I remember saying to my brother-in-law, "well let's see how the half-time show is," only to be presented with the pause menu. "Perhaps you have to 'continue' to see the show," I suggested, only to be taken to the 2nd half of the game when I pressed the button.

Where were the video highlights, or the equivalent "Hot-at-the-half" player picks? I think of all the cool things EA could do with Xbox Live during halftime - like provide realtime scores from real games around the league - and I become sad. I am sad because there is NO halftime presentation at all.

SO then we headed into Xbox Live (and the EA servers) to attempt to play a 2-on-2 game. No-can-do with Madden '06! Xbox Live games are reserved for 1-on-1. Another wonderful feature of a murdered king.

The NFL 2K series was headed in the BEST direction, and it is a shame to see the franchise destroyed by big-business politics and not the consumer market where it began to show signs of dominance. For the total package and presentation ESPN 2K5 provided was the reason it was king in my circle of friends last year and beyond.

What a shame.
