Fuerte is easily one of the worst characters to grace the series, including EX chars.

They can easily give Mika luchador alts. Fuerte is good on paper, but that's about it.

Ironically, they were his mispronunciations of the Japanese language, i.e. "Daijoubu desuka?"

That sounds awful to make him a male Lucky Chloe , he cared about ancient Japanese culture and everything in general. Turning him into dude that likes only anime , idols and video games is waste of a character to me at least.
I would not wanna see Sodom take off his mask and Samurai gear to be like bishonen looking dude with ponytail and Love live shirt but is the size of a football player.

He's a caricature of Western obsession with Japanese culture, the people who write blog posts saying they wish they were born asian. He doesn't have to come into the fight w/ a waifu pillow (though as DLC that would be awesome), but references that people nowadays would get would be cool.

Honestly, I forgot all about Area and what she looked like. She's definitely just R. Mika as a science geek instead of a pro wrestler. It's a pretty forgettable design, but it's far from the worst design in Street Fighter.
It's better than Mika herself, at least.

Yeah I made the post as a joke/dig at El Fuerte with it making it look like I was defending him when I was actually trashing him.
That being said I think EX had a pretty mixed bag for a roster. Some of the characters were pretty awesome like D. Dark and C. Jack but the bad ones were pretty terrible.

sounds good to me. there will be lots of other important details to reveal, as well as DLC character teasing. plus, maybe it'll turn out to be an early Feb release after all

Matt Dahlgren did another interview on the roster at GameStop Expo 2015. In here, Matt didn't specifically say "classic" in the discussion. He instead said "characters you'd expect to see in SF". So that means really popular and recognizable faces along the lines of Cammy. It doesn't specifically allude to "classics" or "SF2" characters, although said inference can still be made by the "characters you'd expect to see" part. This would also open up the chance for Alex, Urien, Juri, Cody, etc. to get in the game due to the lessened emphasis on the term "classic".
