Sony TGS 2015 Conference [Over]

Besides the golf game and Bloodborne DLC (no one should be excited for DLC)
this does nothing for me. SO for me this was a pretty bad conference. Then again I really do not care much about Japanese games since I find most mediocre and they just do not appeal to me.

So you're complaining about thing not catering to your taste, even if thing doesn't interest you in the first place ? Okay, let me just..... there, blocked.

ALL THE HYPE WAS JUSTIFIED FOR ME!!

+1 for Kingdom Hearts 2.8
-1 for no Level 5
+1 for GR remastered and GR2
-1 for no FFXIIHD
+1 for no XV or P5, gives more hype to their proper events
+1 for everything else

I think it was a very solid showing, makes me happy about next year!! :D

I told you guys it was too early for FF12.

I think Gravity Rush is supposed to be one of the major titles now that's it's moved to full PS4. GR2 looks to be really taking advantage of the system as a big project.

Nah TLG wasn't supposed to be there. Only somewhat hint it could be was them hinting they might be trying to find another way to show the game at TGS. Probably somehow on the floor since it wasn't at the conference.

Had to go back and get a look at GR2, which was kinda really awesome. Yeah, that makes sense. And like someone else said, Sony's more and more getting to where they won't announce a title until it's closer to release. So I'm not really all that disappointed about any of Sony's potential J-RPGs not being there.

But I'm seriously starting to believe the Level-5 thing isn't happening, lol.

Is it just me? because I didn't hear any clapping sound or cheer sound from the audience. It felt like an "empty" conference.

I think there was the press, and there were claps.
But conferences in Japan mainly with presses tend to be quiet.
Has a different atmosphere compared to E3 etc.

I love how even people in the industry unaffiliated with Danganronpa are referencing it now.

Best means of expressing despair ever!

Yeah, Level-5 was my big surprise, I thought they'd be there after they were supposed to be at E3 but supposedly got bounced.

Great OP, thanks for that :D

While there were some letdowns *cough* Umbrella Corps. *cough* there was also a lot of amazing stuff IMHO!

- Bloodborne: The Old Hunters - Release Date: November 24, 2015
- Gravity Daze for PS4, 12/10
- Gravity Daze 2 for PS4 in 2016
- Yakuza Remake, 1/21/2016 for PS3/PS4 (includes demo of Yakuza 6)
- Yakuza 6 for PS4, Fall 2016
- Danganronpa 3 for PS4/Vita
- HDD Plates and new colors for the DS4
- Price drop to 34,980 yen

Dream game.

Been imagining that art style in HD let alone that fully made for PS4 HD beauty and scale we'll be using the gravity powers in. Was waiting for that. Thought they were about to end just on the remaster (which was already great to finally have confirmed), but that made my night.

When they announced the remaster I expected that to be it and immediately felt disappointed that we'd get no news about 2. But no, I was wrong - they showed the sequel straight after and I was filled with both relief and euphoria. The conference was a triumph just for that moment.

Highlight of the conference

*Open World Gravity Rush 2
*Project Setsuna
*Bloodborne Expansion
*Kingdom Hearts DDD PS4
*Danganronpa 3

Other

*Saga Scarlet Grace
*Vanillaware Project
*Star Ocean 5 trailer
*World of Final Fantasy trailer

Yakuza remake and sequel announcement didn't excite me. We will never get them so no use =/

I actually thought it was the sequel at first and I was disappointed it looked like it was primarily a vita title. Then at the end when they said 'coming to PS4', I knew they would be showing GR2 for PS4 next...

Ever since last year's Sony TGS conference Japanese third parties are really coming back to console scene. If I include mid-tier games I can't even count how many games were announced since then..

i watched the whole thing, but can't remember the name of a certain game...

I remember it looked like a top down rpg of some sort.... maybe for vita because they had a smaller 'window' of action [likely vita size] and then a greyish/stylish border around that that sort of echo'd the main action.

iirc there was a lot of white/bright colors...

anyone?

edit - found it --- Setsuna. anyone know anything about this one?

Just realized that the guy in the Project Setsuna trailer totally did the X-Strike Dual Tech from Chrono Trigger. There was speculation that the studio could somehow be related. Am I grasping at straws here or does this look fishy to anyone else?

I'm not ruling it out. I thought the background art had a Chrono-inspired look to it. Maybe another spiritual successor though since it's a new team.

Highlights for me were:
King of Fighters XIV
NiOh
Star Ocean V
Yakuza Kiwami (basically Yakuza 1 director's cut)
Yakuza 6 annoucement
Toukiden 2
One Piece: Burning Blood
Saga Scarlet Grace
Gravity Daze 2

oh yeah, and Bloodborne Old Hunters Expansion DLC

Can you imagine if Sony showed TLG, FFVII Remake, and Shenmue for the first time at this conference....O_0

Sony : "This is the new TLG that you've all been waiting for!"
Press : "........"
Sony : "Also, we finally make sure that FFVII Remake is in development just as you wanted!!!"
Press : "......."
Sony : "Finally, SHENMUE 3!!!!!"
Press : "......."

Umbrella Corps looked like a low-budget game and had such shitty animation =/

I don't think Capcom will make any high budget game anytime soon with the exception of Resident Evil 7.

Why are Persona fans so rude?

Overall, a 9/10 conference. A Yakuza HD Ultimate Collection for PS4 would've sealed the deal for me, but I can't complain either way. Many great announcements. I'm filled with excitement and all that.

I think they are just extremely thirsty for P5.

This leads me to believe that the the game is huge enough to be revealed at an international event. PSX most likely.

That's all I can think of too. They know it's a bit off from release so they can still wait in announcing it and it was big enough for E3 but got bumped due to the crazy titles so rather than use it at TGS even if it would be very appropriate they still are looking at something like PSX or next E3.

Either that or progress slowed and they're waiting for more bigger footage if we want to be pessimistic.

Remember when Hino was talking with Sony guy on the stream he said he want to reveal the damn PS4 game at E3 when ready, so it must be big enough to show off at the international event.

Edit: Aaand someone already posted the exact same thing, oh well :)

It was supposed to be shown at E3.

Well to be fair I don't think Hino specified which E3, though everyone assumed it should be the closest one (E3 2015).
We may have to wait another year (or more) I guess. The guy must be extremely busy doing so many projects.
