I want to believe, but Capcom's comments of "characters you'd expect" kinda throw the other half of the leak into doubt. That plus Alex & Urien were listed separately (though their article was the first to go up).

but no seriously, they have done nothing to be doubted now. That statement was tricky but it was also vauge enough that it could be meaningless. Maybe Urien is that dudes favorite character and he considers him classic. Maybe they think people are expecting Alex and Urien ? Or maybe they are aware of the leaks and are just trying to throw off the trail (seems to be working with all the people jumping to conclusions at every tease)? The point being, we have one source that so far mind you, has been 100% but is being doubted after every reveal and a source that dropped a random statement that people are taking as gospel.

This is coming from someone who hopes they are wrong because I selfishly want other characters in...but eventually you have to see the writing on the wall guys

Even before the statement it was clear those 8 characters were SF2/SF4. The statement confirms it. We're talking about SF3 characters here. Urien and Alex in the same box as Bison and Vega??? No way.

But then again, now that Karin has been revealed I'm not going around praising Silconera. I'm still cautiously optimistic about Alex and Urien's chances. What's annoying is that the returning characters probably won't be revealed for a while so this whole bullshit argument is just going to keep on going.

But you're failing to consider that they'll probably reveal some of the DLC characters before launch, so the pre-order hype characters will still be Alex and Urien. That way you can get those people excited and buying the game, while also not scaring away customers by putting SF3 characters on the initial roster.

yeah. at this point if we're talking maximum hype to make a bang before release, it has to be alex and urien. fuck it, I BELIEVE. gief and sim have a place in the game, but they would be lackluster if they want to drop some bombs and get some sales and hype up.

They already revealed the DLC costumes and their DLC plans. We only have four reveals left, does anyone honestly think they won't reveal some DLC characters? We've gotten three or so characters within the past month, and this game is a 2016 release. Even February 2016 is far at this rate.

Exactly. If you want to keep the hype train going at full speed, you have to reveal characters beyond the norm but are desired. Alex & Urien fit that profile.
