I'm here, I didn't like the dudes comment, he seemed to assume like alot of other gaffers do about MS , I vent alot on twitter, I stop posting because I went to bed and had home improvement things to do in the morning. And I don't post like I used to in any war threads, mainly sticking to OTs and off-topic. My twitter was derailing the thread, if any of you guys want to continue PM me or twitter, unless you attack me there, where I'll most likely block you.

Everyone knows that's only because Microsoft is basically giving the console away with the insane bundles the had during last holiday(where they sold a huge number of units) on top of the price drop. If Sony does anything remotely similar to that it would be explosive imo even more so then it was for MS.

I didn't say it needs to use Live servers, it connects to live servers no matter what way you try to spin it. What you wrote doesn't make sense.
Everything on the Xbox the live network is encrypted, last time I saw any documentation on xbox live. Yes even if the publishers OWN the server they users are connecting to, it needs to handle that encryption as a handoff from xbox live would be required.
You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. Why even bother responding? "Self-Evident GAF" my butt cheeks.

Reeeal hard. (How has he not been crucified in more GIFs? No one wants to make them?) We'd really get a reputation as PS4 fanboys if we had our finest gifmasters on some good solo Phil material.

The only reason I know of it is because it was posted here. I'm sure a lot of people here are in the same boat. The content in the post was negative towards gaf not specific gaf members with names. I don't follow MS looking for negatives, but he said everyone. Hurts my fweelings

maybe so, but it worked for them. when I look at graphs/ratios from zhuge or whoever else, it doesn't look all that bad for mS anyway. just comparing it to Ps4 makes them look so shadowed.

Your X-Box One is capable of communicating with distant servers because it has a modulator/demodulator and a connection to the physical network infrastructure that the distant end it's trying to communicate with is on. The device does not require X-Box Live to do this. X-Box Live is not a physical telecommunications network. X-Box Live is not an Internet Service Provider. X-Box Live is not a modem.
X-Box Live is useful or necessary for some games because those games have no dedicated servers to handle server-side operation of the game or matchmaking services in games that use peer-to-peer connections. MMORPGs have their own servers, they do not need or want to communicate with or "over" (whatever that means) X-Box Live at any time.
Microsoft forcing you to connect your device to their servers before it can establish a connection with an outside agency is not a physical or logical requirement, it is something they've done artificially for (at best) the arguable goal of protecting users from themselves. There is absolutely no reason an MMO on XB1 could not be permitted to connect directly to servers without using Live as an intermediary, which has long been the argument against such services being behind Live's paywall.
Try this: hook a computer with a modem up to a valid network connection, and try to connect to an MMO's servers without Live. Does it work? An XB1 is a computer with a modem. Why do you seem to think it wouldn't work?
I'm curious to see if you can find someone who does "know what they're talking about" who would come to any other conclusion. Maybe they would have something substantial to add to a discussion instead of just making an extremely specious assertion about the way online games handle network traffic and then then calling out for "Detective GAF" to prove their hare-brained hypothesis.

This. And the reason for the XBO's successful holiday season from last year was because of the Assassin's Creed Unity bundle, not because of exclusives. However, the script has flipped as Sony is releasing 3 different Battlefront bundles and has marketing rights to Black Ops 3.
If you want to play Japanese games you should buy a PS4.

If you like games like tales of zestiria, Dragon quest heroes, soma, disgaea 5, Bloodborne the old hunters, and if you wanted to play the uc4 beta, ps4 is just fine for the holiday, let alone what's coming in 2016, also, why are you bringing up something completely unrelated in this topic?
