A port of the PS360 version in the year 2015, when there's a PS4 version available.

ayy Konami

And that immediately after MGSV had such a great PC version.

edit: trying to take advantage of loopholes in the store UI to hide the bad user reviews, goddamn

The user reviews are now down to 42%, so Konami FINALLY took action.

They are selling the game on it's own in a "bundle" that's hiding the user review score.

BRA FUCKING VO KONAMI

You're looking at the sub page and you can still access the app page. Also, it's named a bundle because it includes:

• 1x UEFA.com Team Of The Year 2014 player
• 1x Player loan – Neymar
• 10,000 GP x 10 weeks
• 10x Recovery items
• 3x Player Contracts

But the DLC isn't listed on the sub page because it doesn't have a store page of its own.

Edit: Oh, I see, the game's Popular New Releases listing is linked to the sub page rather than the app page. That seems to be a Steam stuff-up as I'm not seeing it (the sub link) in the full list of new releases.

It just seems like in PC version the players are not sweating...yet? Maybe after 15 mins of in game time, they will look just as shiny?

Importantly, how is the gameplay engine? Is it using last gen engine, like what EA Fifa used to do?

There is a demo available on Steam now, around 2GB. Not sure if i should waste my time. For PES2015, Bleh-nami sold it briefly on Steam before removing it, so there was a lack of local players.

isn't the PES community manager a total fucking dick and spins everything and anything about the poor quality of last year's pc version?

Adam Bhatti basically admitted on the WENB Podcast that the PC version was the least of their priority because of Piracy, that there was no point of wasting resources and time on the PC version when they couldn't profit from it because such a large percentage of users where gonna pirate it anyway.

I guess the public backlash and the financial impact is much worse now. Idiots at Konami are idiots.

Such lack of effort will make buy FIFA instead, even though I think PES is the better series. Or just keep playing PES2015 since I already own that on PC.

Steam should not be allowing publishers to subvert Steam's community reviews with bundles. To me the PC version has nicer lighting and grass. But the shaders seem completely screwed. Since the Fox Engine switch I was really excited for a compelling football game on PC.

They got their cash. Hopefully refunds are clawing it back and the misleading marketing materials sway Steam into being incredibly lenient with the 2 hour rule. The grass is completely different to the screenshots.

His job will be the least of Konami's priorities. Wish no ill against the guy of course.

I'm betting a PS4 port would be less work due to x86 vs ppc, the real reason is they don't want to give PC an equal/better version because they don't want potential console buyers to pirate that version instead.

Thanks OP for the heads up. I'll avoid this on PC.

How ironic. I would have thought that putting out a bug ridden half assed effort of a port will only further encourage piracy.

Piracy is not an excuse as it is no obstacle to profit, as evidenced by the fact that PC multiplats are still a thing, yet piracy has not been stopped.

A high quality port will not curb the piracy rate but it will most certainly entice PC gamers to put money on the table.

Oh that's bullshit.

If thats the case no multiplayer PC games would have made money.

Piracy is just an excuse they throw out as an obstacle.

I agree it's a shitty port - and coming straight from a semi-regular master league session in 2015 I'm not seeing anything groundbreakingly new in mechanics to set my world alight either. That said - it is an improvement, and the gameplay is improved. There's a couple issues with goalkeepers reflexes and their inability sometimes to stop shots from outside the box - but i'm having fun in the new master league mode and that's what counts. I paid $26 for it so its not too bad. I'd feel cheated if I paid full price though.

FIFA is currently 39.99 at its cheapest. And being a soccer whore I bought that too. The demo for that felt more 'new' to me than PES 16, but to be honest neither game is doing anything special with football and they wasting too much time on these FUT/MyClub modes for my liking.

Most Japanese developers shouldn't even bother with Steam when they just fuck up like that and lie to their customers. It's disgusting and just makes me lose respect for them.

Steam should not be allowing publishers to subvert Steam's community reviews with bundles.

That's not what's going on. The various lists on the front page are automatically generated and the bundle has been present since the game unlocked, plus the app page is still up and even if you limit your search to where the bundle is being displayed, the aggregate review status still shows.

There are two ways to escape reviews: either pull the app page but leave the sub up (review overviews aren't displayed on sub pages or Steam Community hubs, although the latter do contain the reviews themselves) or relaunch the game under a different app, however Konami hasn't done either... yet.

I have never understood the "We are not focusing on the PC version because of the piracy" argument. If that is the case do not make a PC version because you will be screwing the people who do buy it.

How fucking hard can it fucking be. Not even being able to get the proper current gen shaders to work is just embarrasing. They already run on xbone, so they obviously have HLSL versions of the shaders (meaning DirectX). Just a spit in the face by Konami.

Hmm, their newest engine might need of work to do for PC port. But decided go for scalable engine for cheaper to make and more support wider range of PC.

Too bad especially Konami not going to stay proper gaming to fix that problem, as they are leaving to the mobile market only.

I avoided even looking at this thread for a while because the whole thing is just "It's Konami" but looking at the OP even by thier standards it's below par.

They could have easily done it. It's just that it would have been slightly more expensive.

FIFA 15 wasn't. And 16 seems to be also a great port going by the demo.

FIFA's PC port hasn't been exceptional for years, lack of detailed options, and the graphics options aren't even in game, although FIFA has always been well optimized on PC that can run well on vast range of setups.

PES 2016 on PC is not even on par with current gen console version. This is what we are talking about here. Not having some more in depth options is one, having last gen textures and lighting is a totally different thing. While this is understandable somehow for the first year in a new console gen (prioritizing for a stable console engine - like FIFA did too for 14) there is no excuse further on.

This is a lie. That's the sub page, not the app page, and the store still redirects you to the app page, where the user review score still shows.

When the game was first put on steam that's how it showed up. Konami haven't changed anything with how it's displayed on steam. I know because I fumbled around a bit confused looking for its main page even before it was released

Sorry, that should say GBP, not dollars... I have my keyboard setup in US for cortana for some reason (I don't ever use it!). I ordered it from Gamesplanet.com

Not a lie, but okay. Store redirects me to that.

http://a.pomf.cat/qqzoqw.mp4

It redirects from the popular releases and the top sellers. You have to actively look for the non bundled one.

That wasn't by design or some conspiracy. Players are buying that bundle.

Click on the game in the bundle, will reroute you to the store page, or search for the game in the store, it will reroute you to the store page.

You are forcing evidence to fit your narrative.

I'm not trying to force any "narrative". If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I'll change things. I just saw this while browsing Steam, posted it here. That's literally it.
