Destiny might be the wrong game for you, unfortunately. There's constant loading going from tower to director to crucible/wherever. You get used to it, but prepare to stare at your dumb ship floating a lot.

Thanks for the warnings about loading times. I guess i'll stick to watching streams.
slower than i'd like. I hate how long it takes to load my character screen sometimes; especially when i need to quick switch a weapon

Auto aim is a hidden stat in this game, even. I got a new scout rifle with enhanced target acquisition (aka aim assist) and it glues to targets like crazy.

It's actually pretty easy if you go into the side room and crouch there. You can pick off adds as they come by and Oryx just floats in the middle and shoots widely at you. Beat it solo that way.

Wow, I needed one more Strange Coin to get 5 more three of coins from Xur. Did a quick strike and got 5 coins from a blue engram.
Farmed with those last 5, and got one exotic engram. Turns out to be Telesto! Yay!

So I've completed the story content (including the quest to do 5 non heroic strikes). To do heroic strikes and earn legit Legendary marks it suggests I be at least 260 light.
How do you raise light efficiently from around 235 that I am now to 260 without doing heroic strikes for marks? What's the best way?

Note, you only get marks from heroic strikes the first 3 times in a week.
But basically, anything that's gonna get you engrams is good. Decrypt your engrams one at a time, equipping the most powerful items in each slot as you go. Even if you hate an item, if it's the highest light available, use it when doing this so you have a chance of higher light stuff.
When you do have enough marks to do so, I'd recomend buying a 280 ghost like the one from the Vanguard because ghosts are the hardest to come by. I still haven't had one close to 280 drop x.x
Edit: Got 3 more exotic engrams. Two Chests: Crest of Alpha Lupi and Heart of the Praxic Fire(I hadn't obtained any chests today). And a secondary weapon. I know I said I really like the Telesto, but that didn't mean I wanted a second one right now haha.

I'd second that point about the ghost. Anecdotally it's the hardest drop to get so buy one when you can. I think I have a 289 blue now but that was super lucky.
Until I got to around 280 every blue I decoded was at least my AVERAGE light.
As well as decrypting and equipping one at a time I would recommend only decrypting items corresponding to you lowest gear. For awhile I had 280 stuff and 200 stuff making me 240. All the blues were coming out around 240 to 260 so there was simply no point decrypting any where I already had a 280 item.
Rinse and repeat.

When you're used to SSDs in your PC Destiny is painful. Not just because of the length of the loading screens, but the frequency too. You'll finish up on a planet and think "I want to head back to the Tower to turn in these bounties." What you want is a warp to Tower option so you only have one loading screen to sit through, but instead you return to the current planet's orbit first (one long loading screen) then spend a few seconds selecting the Tower as your next destination (leading to a second long loading screen), turn in your bounties at the Tower and work out which destination you want to travel to next and go through the same process - return to orbit (third long loading screen), and finally select your destination so you can get back to playing the game (fourth long loading screen).
Destiny is one of those weird games where so much of it is amazing, and so much is atrociously bad.
Too late now that Xur's gone haha. But basically you could abuse the consumable he sold that gave ultras a good chance of dropping exotic engrams, coupled with farming Draksis at the end of a story mission, suicide killing via rocket launcher at the end to respawn at the checkpoint.

I ran a nightfall tonight and got the boss in the dark pit omg so crazy lol having to run like hell only to have the fucker bash your head in.
I also did a 9 person triple strike on the Court of Oryx and OMG it was fun, we did tier 1/2/3 and it turned into this hilarious race for us to murder everything with our swords as fast as we could.
Some of the most fun I've had in a long time.
I had to decline a Raid offer because I had to quit for sleep lmao

I'm going by pre-TTK memories, apologies. It's still an issue whenever you need to visit the tower though. Picking up bounties, decrypting engrams, buying gear, etc. The loading screens are a big issue, and many could be avoided with better design.
Do you need to be a certain level? I haven't got anything in post except a couple of strange coins
I don't know but I wouldn't think so. The CE item pack comes with the emote and a level 20 exotic class item with bonus xp.
Perhaps make sure the CE add-on has been installed under your game?
No, there should be a $60 Legendary Digital Edition download version available - I don't think it was formally available until maybe a week before launch so it isn't in the original OP graphic.

I'm still disappointed by the exotics I got. Only weapons were two of the same one that I don't want, and then getting all the hunter helms except the two that I really wanted. :c

If you want to skip the base game story and jump straight to TTK content, you can use it. I personally think the base game is fun if a little bland and incoherent, so I would recommend playing it through, if just so that your enjoyment of the later content will be that much greater.
Following advice here, I stored the item in the vault and will use it on a second character so I don't have to grind myself. It's pretty easy to work yourself up, plus by playing the vanilla content, doing the grind you pick up the game really well, the enemies and the mechanics and really get a feeling for how this all works, bounties, strikes, upgrades, weapons, armor.

I can relate haha, its almost every time for meleft the tower, only to realize I forgot to collect the daily bounties.............
if you have played vanilla Destiny before then levelling up is easy, just complete bounties and crucible stuff, if not, create another character to run through the average romp to get a good idea of whats happening

If you want to jump straight into the fray and get TTK hype, then use the item to jump ahead
lol. "your day" was the first week of release?
keep in mind it doesn't max your abilities out so you'll still need to level with XP in order to do those things.

Blood bound. Even better with the new exotic helmet that gives orbs from heavy weapon kills. Tether a mob then launch a rocket into it = orbgasm.
