Vita "hacked," (PSP) homebrew on the way (not piracy)

If a lot of people starts getting free trophies, then trophies will lose value. Now they represent effort you've put in a game, time spent, etc...

If it's easy to hack them, trophies will lose their value. Wether you unlock them or not, they won't serve as proof of having achieved anything.

Again, what value is there in them? They dont have value outside of internal validation, or at least they shouldnt. Do you really care about what someone else has done in the game that literally has no impact on your gaming experience?

The only issue I can think of is the type that is mentioned above and thats not cool at all I 100% agree. That being said, why a person would want to fake a trophy is beyond me. Its a rather pathetic attempt at an online pissing contest that no one really cares about. Well, I assumed no one cared about, but I guess I am not really in the majority here as lots of people seem to beleive that trophies hold some kind of value. I can respect that view point even if I dont agree with it.

Sony did an "auction" with the trophies being your money. People gamed that system.

Honestly though, you're right: They hold no value so who cares how people get them?

We need to wait for Mr. Gas and Major Tom release their custom bubble method (not the one on Hackinfomer), if Qwikrazor is to be trusted. Once they have, you'll be able to create bubbles much more easily, and Qwikrazor is going to release his version of ARK.

I honestly would recommend to just relax and wait for everything to unfold. Right now the scene is on fire and everyone's going around screaming and shouting :P

This seems to be the best course of action for now. I just spent 2 hours trying and retrying the non-vhbl path to no avail, though I might have fucked up with the pboot part but fuck if I know.

I just have an hacked Ps Vita 1000.
I'd like to know just the following: using RetroArch would it be possible to use its PSP emulator instead of the classic Sony's PSX emulator included in the PSP?

Thanks.

Use the registry hack to change your PSN account to a US one, then back it up with CMA, then registry hack your old account back and copy it over.

it doesn't seem to be working. I've changed my region in the registry to 02 (USA), and verified the changes have been made - but when I go onto the shop, its still the UK one.

Getting frustrated with this. the tutorial is basic as hell and makes no sense why its not working

Yeah, because the store is for your account. I'm not entirely sure what the region change is supposed to do since if you sign in with a US account on a UK bought Vita, it shows the US store.

It might be like the PSP where some games probably read that code for things like O to advance and X to cancel like in Japan instead of using the game region.

Although this is supposed to be account level. I'm not sure how that can work considering your profile is still on one region for all your other PS devices.

The region change is for the Vita hardware, not software. Which doesn't do much right now since the Store is bound to your account.

Soooo its useless. Hm.

Ah well.

So what Chronic says below apparently works according to people on Twitter. You put in the username/password of a USA account to the Vita in registry and access the US store without wiping, then put your old account back and everything works like it does on PS3/4 setting the account as a primary account to that Vita. Seeing if I can find a tutorial for that.

Oh

That's interesting. Ill try that.

The email and password is all plaintext.

And a PSN ban magnet maybe?
Could be that people gets banned indeed. I dont know if anyone has been that due to trophy cheating on PS3 though, at least i havnt heard of any specific cases.

For me personally, trophies are a personal thing, so if people decide to cheat with trophies, i wouldnt care much about it.

Hacking trophies sadly is imo as bad as piracy in how homebrew is seen by others in the gaming community.

I don't agree with it.

I really don't get that. To me, trophies and achievements are pretty meaningless, and there's really no value associated with them. Just a "score" to show off online.

They are just a fun little extra and add extra stuff to do in a game if you are really into it. Personally, the only games that I found fun enough to actually go for the platinums is the Neptunia games. I've gotten the platinum for all of them so far hehe.

Wow. So there's a chance I can somehow escape the stupid restrictions of a EU account.

What a time to be alive :')

Oh sweet. As soon as I find what I did with my Vita, I'll give that shot as well then. Was thinking it was going to be slightly more complex!

tried it. comes up as being signed out of the new email/password, but when I try going onto the store it says I must log in with the account thats linked.

so yeah, no go. Need a tutorial to see where im messing it up.

Normal region switching looks faster and easier than this.

...the vita is fully region free. you have always been able to do that.

True, I wrote that in a hurry. What I meant; I can now import a game from an US account, then play it alongside my EU games on my EU account. I gave up on having two accounts on a Vita, I heard it causes issues for the Bubbles and folders.

As far as I can see right now, the Switch PSN Account thing is people just reading the list that Mr. Gas released initially. I can't see anyone saying how to do it, even if they claimed to do it, other than change registry values for user/pass and then do the memory card ID blanker. But lots of people are saying it's not working.

As far as I could get it, I could get my US account Netflix to show up on my UK account, but it won't boot.

The VHBL tutorial was updated to state it doesn't work anymore. Hopefully a successful method is developed soon.

I actually got custom themes to work though!!!

Kinda irresponsible for them to post a guide that had people messing around editing files without being sure it worked. Still, glad this was finally confirmed so hopefully the real method will be out soon.

It looks like there is a way to get newer games that the whitelist alone doesn't work for playing. It involves editing app.db and seems to be permanent until you rebuilt your system's database. https://twitter.com/frtomtomdu80/status/647558410347630592

lol Trying to set up a new gmail account in the email app and Gmail says it's insecure. GG Sony.

Ah, it's a Google 2-step thing preventing it despite it only being tied to my main account. Well, okay, then Google.

So, tried to sync online Wipeout 2048 trophies since the online for that is #dead.

Doesn't work. People worrying about that: You're safe unless someone finds a way to get Sony's servers to accept the SQL change. It's only a local change and if you boot the game up it'll resort the progress bar while keeping your changes. So... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯no biggie.

Guys, things are happening! Stuff is moving! News are inbound!

Mr. Gas:
@173210 ok i will prepare the files soon
(Talking about the bubble trick)

Orion from Gamesonic.it:
Gamesonic.it staff has tested the new method for bubble of @gabaas1 and works very well
(ARK-2 confirmed working on 3.52, TN-V on 3.50 and lower)

Freakler:
Do you guys want a tutorial of full bubble customization aswell?

Hype levels: off the charts.

The whitelist for emulated games can be bypassed too - instructions are now in the other thread.

However...there is currently no way to transfer blocked PS1 games such as Theme Park to the Vita.
Really? So now i can download crash games from psn normally ? I have na account
and I meant PS Vita, not TV

Just finished converting my PSX games to PSP

Theme Park World, Theme Park, Earthworm Jim 2, SOTN, Hogs of War, Street Fighter Alpha 3

Aaaand that's it. I have no need for anything else, I just need those!

Not a Theme Hospital man?

Been poking around the files, probably in vein since smarter people are looking through them. I'm basically trying to find one that is causing PSM Dev to say "You need to upgrade, twatface", but obviously that's hidden away more than the TV whitelists.

I only have it on my PC! I had the PS1 version years ago but no longer.
