You can flip between a desktop and tablet version of the OS.
It kinda sucks that the SP4 went up in price for the baseline. I know you get more storage, but still, the cheapest entry point is $100 more. What do you guys think? I just got a SP3 for $630. It doesn't seem to make sense to return it and get the SP4 at $899 right?
30% better performance? why the fuck wouldn't you?
Ok. Now i need pricing for every option of Surfacebook and Surface Pro 4. Maybe come out of pocket for this one and hand back my Surface Pro 3 to work.
Why are we comparing this to the iPad Pro? They seem like two entirely separate products. I would totally buy and use both.
It'd arguably be worth it (taking into account the rest of the package) if it is something in the range of at least of a 970m or so. I suspect it may not be that though given the size of the laptopThe dGPU is expensive lol.
Does the student discount apply for the SP4?
The new pen works with S3/SP3 models. Preordered.

So the SP4 base model will probably cost 1000 here. That's expensive.
Having used a Lumia 635 for almost a year now I haven't felt like I was missing anything. I just want things to get better in the store. I'm happy about new Facebook apps coming but I want to see a bigger push to bring more devs in. An official Twitch app would be great. What apps are y'all jonesing for?
I had an android phone until 2012, but haven't really felt like I was missing out on apps in the WP environment.

Does it use teh full 1024 levels or does it revert to 256 when used with the sp3?
Latest MacBook Pros have Radeon 370 right? If it's 2x faster than that the GPU is maybe something like 965m or similar. Unlikely in that small shell...
no it isn't. 16GB is mid tier. 32GB is high end.
1899 is the cheapest GPU package :/
What's the "all year battery life" with the pen all about? Just means you don't have to charge it for a whole year? I'm assuming you can just charge it whenever still?
Ok ? There's Mac's and Chromebooks with 16GB Ram. No ordinary customer who makes up the majority is paying 1500+ for a Windows machine unless it's for gaming, and the Surface Boom isn't a gaming machine. It's targeting the MacBook audience. And the surface book doesn't seem to be customizable which is the selling point of a PC over a Mac.16gb ram is high end.
It's not rechargeable anymore they replaced that with it using AAA Batteries. What's the "all year battery life" with the pen all about? Just means you don't have to charge it for a whole year? I'm assuming you can just charge it whenever still?

The SB isn't too pricey for me; it seems comparable to the MBP but substantially more powerful. But I already game and do video editing on my desktop at home, so I think the SP4 will get me more bang for my buck.

The surface pro 4 pen is powered by a battery? Does anybody know if said battery is replaceable or do you need to buy a new pen every time?
