Why?
I need the Surface Book specs as soon as possible.
If it's something I can play FF XIV on when I want to play that, and then can use it as a tablet when I'm at work, I'm fucking sold on it so hard.
My current laptop is ancient so I'm in the market. Really wish they were more specific.
I hear some people saying that this could kill the 3rd party hardware guys (acer, asus, lenovo, etc) that use Windows. That seems very presumptuous. There will always be people that only have $500 to spend on a laptop.
OK MS give us a press release with specs and pricing for all the SP4 and SB options.
And to make it all work, Microsoft outfitted the Surface Pro 4 with a new, in-house co-processor known as the G5, which handles the display/stylus interaction. The button on the Surface Pen can still be used to quick-launch OneNote, and now Cortana as well. Best of all, though, the stylus comes in five colors and magnetically attaches to the side of the Surface Pro 4, so you might notice you've misplaced it that much sooner.
it made sense to improve the writing and doodling experience, too. Most importantly, the new "Surface Pen" has 1,024 degrees of pressure sensitivity, four times that of the Surface Pro 3, and an "all-year" battery life, which is something of a double-edged sword since you can't actually recharge it. The Surface Pen also has a tail eraser for manual undoing, and a selection of interchangeable tips for different tasks that change how the Pen feels and responds.
And to make it all work, Microsoft outfitted the
Apple doesn't need to push, though.
I mean, it's like a Ferrari - worth every penny you pay for it, but few people can afford one.Makes zero sense.
Totally worth it. I'm going to use this to run my music centre. Looks amazing.
When can we expect the nitty gritty about the pricing options and models?
Wait, the stylus isn't rechargeable..?

Wait, the stylus isn't rechargeable..?
Well, you need a certain level of mainstream interest for that, perhaps this will break that for the next one.
Microsoft thought that five years ago.
What apps are y'all jonesing for?
I had an android phone until 2012, but haven't really felt like I was missing out on apps in the WP environment.
I believe the battery is replaceable
Shame they don't have high end products like this. They haven't innovated anything in a while.Well, unlike Microsoft, Apple has the highest satisfaction rating in the business.
Interesting... The Surface Book is 2x faster than the MacBook Pro. That's like saying my 2015 Mustang GT has more HP than your 2013 Mustang GT. MacBook lineup hasn't been updated in ages aside from the new gold MacBook. Let's see what the next gen MBP with Skylake offers early 2016. I love my 2015 MBP, but I ain't loyal to none of these companies competition is great. It's going to be interesting to see if I stay with Mac next year or will MS do enough to to win me back. Also Surface Pro 4 destroys the iPad Pro in my opinion , better luck next year Apple. I've always been intrigued in the Surface lineup, but right now it's too hefty price tag to me for a tablet.

woah what's that mean
Easier access to google services, up to date apps from the major social networks, good version of Microsoft's OWN APPS like Skype, and Outlook. Waze, Sigfig, Bank of America...any financial apps.
It makes sense for Microsoft to try to get the untapped high-end/business market. But Apple users don't want a tablet experience like this:
It doesn't look like a touch optimized experience.

Ok. Now i need pricing for every option of Surfacebook and Surface Pro 4. Maybe come out of pocket for this one and hand back my Surface Pro 3 to work.

AAA battery powered.
It lasts for a year, so.....no?
The Surface Pro 3's pen uses a single AAAA battery. Just get an eneloop or something if you really need it to be rechargeable.

Exactly. Oh well. Looks so beyond everything else in the market. You literally posted a picture of him using a pen-enabled touch app.
