Is there some significance to Luke not being on the poster?

He would steal the show over the new guys. And even if he were on it people would probably be complaining that he should be bigger.

What sucks about this is that it will be projected digitally and most analog to digital conversions ends up losing a little something in the process. Might have to hit up a genuine IMAX theater for this one.

i didn't notice that but one thing i really liked about the scene was the melding of the old star wars ships we've seen like 30 years ago with contemporary cinematography. the x-wing and storm trooper scenes especially give off this modern retro vibe that I'm loving.

I looked at it again, and there seems to be a slight blue tint in some shots.

Maybe that's what's bothering me.

That's because it was shot in 35mm - specifically, the Kodak film stock 5219. There's nothing like real film compared over digital. Praise Nolan.

I know with Nolan's movies some theaters, smaller ones, project it on film besides the real IMAX 15/70 ones.

JJ Abrams has the clout to do whatever he wants practically, and his budget/backing allows it. Random dude who won a short film contest to make a low budget TV movie doesn't have that clout.

There's a genuine leaked Luke pic out there in the midst of a bunch of fake ones. If you want to know which is the real one, it's the one where he's in full costume and you can see the cameras. All the ones that are just headshots or with lightsabers are fake.

Considering how big of a Vader fanboy Kylo is, I'm wondering if his entire motivation going forward will be retrieving that saber once he finds out it's been recovered.
