Star Wars: The Force Awakens Final Trailer

ABSOLUTELY FUCKING INCREDIBLE. HYPE LEVELS CANNOT BE CONTAINED

This film will crush every film record that's come before it. My lord I need some air.

It's amazing how strong the StarWars brand still is today. This video broke the internet just over an hour ago, and its not even for episode VII. I can't imagine how insane hype will be leading up to VII. I enjoyed this trailer though and I'm glad to see a black protagonist.

What? It's for ep 7.

Amazing score, amazing trailer! Also, WELP
There's the leaked Vader mask, so this movie will end up being either fairly straightforward, or we could see Empire Strikes Back level curveballs

JJ doesn't use curveballs in his movies. He tends to take established, ionic stuff and recycle them with different character situations, like he did in ST: Darkness and Super 8.

The part where Rey asks if the stories are true disproves several alleged spoilers.

Every scene with Rey, Finn and Kylo in that preview match leaked spoilers. Including that scene which has been touched upon by not only spoilers but by the actors and writers in interviews.

Oh wait this is VII? I seriously didn't know. I thought this was a spinoff and VII was coming out next year.

I love how much this feels like the OT over the Prequels. The world this movie inhabits seems alive and lived in, and that's something I really loved about the OT, but I felt was missing from the Prequels. Seeing the girl swing down into the interior of a downed Star Destroyer, and then watching a ship launch into space, and her sad expression as she said that she's "no one" are little things that make Star Wars magical.

Also the dialogue seems to be much better. No offense to Lucas, but he was pretty bad at writing character dialogue. I'm glad we have someone else doing that, because it really brings weight to the story.

This is VII, the first spinoff is next year, and then VIII will be Spring 2017.

And then the Han Solo movie in 2018, Episode IX in 2019, and the rumored Boba Fett movie in 2020.

Also, if VII lives up to the hype (or comes close) and Rogue One does well, the build up to VIII will be nuts because 2017 also happens to be the 40th Anniversary of Star Wars. The movie premieres exactly on the 25th, too (apparently)! Who am I kidding. The build up will be nuts, regardless of what happens with TFA or Rogue One!

Like... Why are the symbols from Boba Fett's armor on those central banners?

Not really. It's implied with references that Jedi were in abundance before the Empire came about. It's not hard to imagine that after the purge. Sidious deemed the Jedi as evil. Then over time either warped their history or suppressed it.

It's also implied that the Empire had been around for a long time. Remember, the timeline from ROTS and A New Hope is only 20 years.

Prequel Trilogy
20 years
Original Trilogy
30-40 years
New Trilogy

So it's even more unbelievable that everyone forgot about the Jedi by the time A New Hope happens. I mean a high ranking official in the Empire thought it was a fairy tale ffs.

As someone who doesn't like Star Wars (don't dislike it either, just don't care for it) I thought the trailer was... mediocre. Oh well!

Thought the two teaser trailers were amazing, for what it's worth. Just not feeling this one.

Can't wait to watch the film, though. I trust JJ Abrams so much and I'm confident he'll make the first Star Wars movie that I'll like. Hopefully even love! Already got my tickets, too!

Fantastic Trailer! I love everything about how the movie looks, and that music is so damn good! Can't believe people are complaining about the trailer not showing enough, or about it not showing Luke. I mean can't people wait until the movie to actually watch it and find out what happens? Not everything needs to be spoiled in the trailers like so many movies do today. I think they did great job of showing off new stuff, but not spoiling much.

You mean the one that was in the trailer before this?

Agreed, I really like that I have no idea what the story is. The general arcs are there but I know jack squat about the plot. So happy about it.

"Nothing will stand in our way, I will finish what you started"

That shit right there gave me the fucking chills down my spine.

I feel like this is the culmination of my experience with cinema.

What’s so great about this trailer isn’t that it reveals a lot or spoils anything (and, really, it doesn’t, in addition to Lupita, Mark Hamill, Domhnall Gleeson, and others are completely absent), but it gives you a great sense of what the movie will feel like. This is classic Star Wars, with unlikely heroes, villainous bad guys, and tons of action. It also feels, as we said before, like a real J.J. Abrams movie. The shot where Poe and Finn interact, featuring a looping camera movement, could be from anywhere in the director’s oeuvre. Quite frankly, if this is the last we see of Star Wars: The Force Awakens before December 18, we’d be perfectly happy. So what did we really, truly learn? Well, that BB-8 is going to make a great copilot. And that’s enough for us.

I mean... the Jedi and dark side seemingly aren't forgotten. Han is confirming the stories that the kids already heard... they just seemingly couldn't believe it, it was so divorced from their present reality.

Basically it's KIDS REACT TO JEDIS.
I hate kids and their naive view on reality.

*Yells at cloud.

...If Boba Fett is canonically dead from that Sarlacc Pit I don't care what this movie is about or how good, it's instantly the worst and I hope it bombs.

IMO it felt different from both, which is honestly what it should be doing.

how about speculation then from a trailer that is not a spoiler?

That's perfectly fine and encouraged for discussion but people confirming leaked rumours and whatnot is completely annoying to those of us who'd rather find out by watching the film.

I was unsure about even watching the trailer because I was enjoying how little the previous trailers had spoiled the film. But my will wasn't strong enough, and of course I watched it. Was glad to see it didn't really spoil much more. I have a firm sense of how great this movie will be, but not much idea what will actually happen in it.

I couldn't be more excited.

Speculations are spoilers. Discussion is nearly spoilers. Nobody should be posting their thoughts about the trailer or pointing out things that others may have missed within the trailer. Severe spoiler-phobia is a real condition and we need to keep those that suffer from this affliction in mind.

pls don't ask questions

Exactly. Questions lead to possible answers and answers are potential... *looking around*... SPOILERS!

It just shows how suppressed everything was. I mean I'm sure only Tarkin knew the emperor was a Sith. And even Tarkin said Vader is all that's left of their religion. So technically it's 50 years from the PT to this movie.

Like Rey said in the trailer. They've heard stories but they've never seen it. Remember even Han in ANH thought the whole Force nonsense was silly.
