Star Wars: The Force Awakens Final Trailer

I can actually totally believe that Kylo has a batshit fantasy vision of Vader that has no bearing on reality.

Yep and for all we know whoever has taken up the Dark Side at this point as far as Head Honcho may very well not look kindly on Palpatine in the first place and views Vader as some proper Sith.

I'm the same myself, TIE Fighter and Dark Forces looked exactly like what Zahn described. I was blown away back then.

Things about the SW universe were "revealed" in that medium, weren't they?

It's kind of a lost influence on the development of the universe. Lucas either influenced or was influenced by that.

He's a Star Wars villain. That's what they're supposed to be like. Over the top, cool, theatrical and dramatic. I think he looks awesome.

I agree that Kylo Ren looks awesome and his saber has really grown on me BUT he sounded really dorky in the trailer.

My girlfriend said it best 'Vader sounded like a supreme boss, his voice had authority. Ren sounds like a dweeby wannabe' (which I guess, technically he is).

Hopefully he does some cool shit in the movie to make up for the voice...

That first shot of the hatch opening is clearly the first shot of the movie. You can even see the classic space pan after title crawl for a split second in the first few frames of the trailer.

Can't unsee the duck face.

I had a much more muted response to the full trailer compared to the teasers for some reason. May have to watch it again.

I think Coruscant was unique. Because it was always supposed to be in ROTJ and essentially already designed, that's probably why it was given the OK to appear in the games and books. I don't remember anything else that was written first in the books/comics/games that then later went on to appear in the prequels (aside from the odd character cameo etc,)

This isn't that surprising as they were strictly forbidden to talk about the Clone Wars or the downfall of the Jedi/Rise of the Empire. IIRC one of the writers back then compared writing SW stories to playing with toys in George Lucas' driveway. It was perfectly fine to play there but every now and then GL would reverse out and flatten your toys.

I'm not into Stars wars at all and even I have to admit that the trailer looked pretty good. I'll probably get dragged along by my mates.

Yep I ordered tickets for the first 3D IMAX showing on 16th decembre at 11 in the morning.
Half the seats were already gone too.

Gonna book some more for other showings. God I love my theatre subscription.

Its the sounds and the music that gives me the chills. The Star Wars theme, the blaster sounds, the screams of the fighters, the zzzzingggg of the sabers, hnnng.

I think I'll have goosebumps all throughout the movie :)

Really liked the trailer, this film is going to be awesome, for sure.

There's still something off to this latest footage (compared to the first 2 trailers) that i can't put my fingers on, something in the colors or contrast, i'm not sure.

sooo how many spoilers are in the trailer? big ones? is it safe to watch?

None. It's a trailer. It's what they want you to know about the film. That's how trailers work.

If a trailer gives away something and it ruins the movie for you it probably wasn't a very good movie to begin with.

Best parts were the start, seeing the girl rappel down the ship; seeing Boyega pop that blue saber, and that quick shot of what looked like Yavin 4 or something, with all the colorful cloth over them and the red droid walking towards the camera.

Worst parts were Kylo Ren's stupid voice; Harrison Ford; and as i said, something in the colors doesn't look like the first two trailers.

Yeah well nowadays trailers tend to give away a lot... but I'm glad to hear that this one seems to be safe to watch!

I'm 22 and only saw the old films a few months ago in anticipation for this. It's really going to be a cultural event, I don't want to miss out.

I'd be intrigued to hear the views of this film from someone who hadn't seen the previous six

It looks good. It's not like I'm not aware of the events of the OT though. I think it'd be hard to find someone who couldn't generally tell you what happens in those movies. It's too well known.

Excuse my ignorance, but are storm troopers not clones any more? Finn is legitimately a trooper on the run?

The clones died after a while... Maybe something to do with their accelerated growth.

Around the time of the OT, there are no more clones around, I think I have read.

But it's better to ignore the PT anyway..

I've not been following development of ep7 so this trailer was rather cool to me, bought back those star wars feels.

Not a fan of the main evil guy with his duck shaped mask and that stupid light saber, he also sounds like generic evil guy #123

We don't know. Well, maybe some people do but I've tried to stay as little informed as possible about the film.

As for the Stormtroopers, before the prequels nobody thought that they were clones and even after the prequels I doubt the entire Stormtrooper army was made up of clones. At some point they had to supplement the clones with regular troops, plus we see all the officers in the original movies aren't clones.

Indeed. That's why I'm itching to take my seven year old daughter on opening day.

She's not seen any Star Wars yet and very curious to see how she perceives it
