While the status of them in the OT is up for debate, it's been, what, several decades since the clone wars, right? I think it's probably fair to assume that after Palpatine took over completely the clone plants on Kamino were probably spun down (and, one would hazard, the Kaminoians exterminated to stop them talking)and regular conscription and the like kicked in across the empire. There's probably be some leftover jango clones left during the OT time frame, but they'd all be long dead by this time.

I used to be an old school Star Wars fan. Remember seeing ROTJ 12 times in the cinema. Ha I had all those Keller figures, the AT-AT and the ole Millennium Falcon. Those were happy days.
When George Lucas announced he was making the prequels, I have to confess I was so hyped for them, as you can imagine it didn't end well. I saw The Phantom Menace in the cinema, it had a lasting legacy on me. It was the last ever time I ever set foot in a cinema. I haven't even seen the other 2 pre-quells.
Now fast forward to today. I watched this trailer and at first I wasn't "feeling it". Sure it was nice to see Han but dear god Leia hasn't aged well. I thought the new baddie was horribly mediocre (seriously that mask he is wearing is pretty crappy) and I was disappointed with the absence of Luke too.
However having watched it again I am kinda feeling it a bit now. I still think the new baddie is shit and I wouldn't say I am hyped for it. I still have no intention of setting foot inside a cinema to watch it. However I am open to seeing it when it hits a home format.
Oh and the girl in it is unbearably cute :-D

Ren's helmet still looks silly and the voice along with it, ouch. I'm guessing he'll get injured then get a badass voice at the end.
Still curious about Max von Sydow and Andy Serkis.
Ren's buddies those Raid actors, not sure how cool we'll see them in a fight, who is going to fight them on that level?

Was Poe a Tie Fighter pilot, he seems to be caught by Ren so possible he was escaping with Finn from the New Order initially ?

How spoilerific is this trailer? This isn't one of those trailers which spoil the entire movie, is it? I'm tempted as hell to watch this.
First, it could be some weapon or they could just be near some star. However, I don't get the hate for Ren's design, I think it looks awesome and his voice sounds cool. He's got a badass and unique helmet that reminds me a lot of my favorite "Jedi" of all time, Darth Revan. And, I think the voice is pretty good from the snippet we heard. It's got a nice little effect to it but you can hear his natural voice underneath which sounds very young, which is something else I like. I like the idea that this is a new chapter in the SW saga that will be shaped by young individuals not a bunch of old or middle age men who have already done everything.
It's a JJ Abrams trailer, that means no plot details whatsoever just a bunch of awesome shit happening that makes you go "what the hell is happening?!"

Not really. Really good trailer that still doesn't tell you much about the plot. You just get a general vibe of the tone and characters which is what a good trailer should do, along with getting you excited of course.

My local one is too, but a different, slightly farther away one is actually making people who want to see 3D wait until a different showing after the 2D one. I'm tempted to go there for that alone.

Revan was great. I don't think Ren's design is as good, maybe he'll change. It's like they've gone for the knight saber but forgotten the rest and ended up with a Battlestar Galactica part Cylon, part plastic duck face instead of something like Revan, evil knight.

Wow, the camera work is better than anything Lucas could dream of.
I felt like I saw better acting in that 2 minute clip than in the entire prequels.

Kylo Ren might be the main villain in terms of marketing focus but Supreme Leader Snoke is presumably in charge.

After watching the trailer 10x, I put on a few old SW movies...
...wow. After the poetic tone of some of the scenes in this TFW trailer, ROTS looks odd. The CG has aged to the point of looking like a PS2 cutscene, and the story material is "Saturday morning cartoon" at best. I appreciated this movie for what it was at the time, much better than its predecessors, but I see it in a new light now. It's definitely a SW prequel.
The OT films were classic and so lovable, but they did look and sound (dialogue-wise) quite dated too. They are decades old. I love these movies to death, and I watch them all the time, but I see already from the tone in these trailers how these new SW films will re-define SW for a new generation. Some will find it hard to go back...

Mind clarifying? Can't really tell how you can tell that by the trailers. The only indication is JJ Abram's past records which is also the reason I'm wary of the movie.

Is luke the dark jedi dude?
Visual effects look top notch like this is expected from this kind of production, but everything else leaves me unfazed, and usually trailers get me really hyped before being very disappointed by the actual movie. This time it's different all the trailers I've seen just make me really not interested in seeing how the plot will unfold.
It just looks like your average blockbuster without any singularity, any personnal touch. That's my impression so far, but I intend to see the movie obviously. If it ends up being a disaster I'll probably get a few laughs out of it.
The weird triple light saber looks stupid as well, it feels like it's supposed to be comical but I suspect not.
Yeah I am seeing it on day one at IMAX but I have no choice to opt out 3D.

The thing is the plot is pretty much unknown still even with all the trailers.The only thing you get out of it is there is a bad guy and there are good guys and they'll fight.
