Star Wars: The Force Awakens Final Trailer

The force is strong with this trailer.

I mean just wow, it looks amazing. It shows enough but like the other trailers, doesn't give away much plot (I hate it when a trailer shows too much) and it just feels like Star Wars again, a feeling I never fully got from the prequels.

I don't normally pre-book but it is Star Wars and after this trailer, I went and booked my IMAX tickets for opening weekend, can't have bad seats for this one.

Just watching it again.

Really liking kylo rens voice. Does sound potentially memorable and iconic. Too bad the mask isn't as good.
Is the spaceship rey is looking up at the start, with it flying in the distance while she is working, from the OT or PT? Or neither? I can't make it out.
really like the new droid, have they shown any of the older droids though?
When is the next trailer?

I am crying as a little girl since I woke up and saw the trailer (I can't even count already). Han saying the dark side and the Jedi are real. Its so freeeaking awesome. Awwww man.

It's a JJ Abrams joint, so worst case scenario, it will be another blue and orange infused, super slick, rather unfocused and woefully forgetable product with no soul at all, yet somewhat enjoyable.

Read: Nu Star Trek with 99% less pointy ears.

Forgettable isn't a word I would use. It being Star Wars pretty much won't allow that to happen. Even the prequels are not forgotten and have been spoken about as much as the OT despite most of it being negative. Star Trek has a lot of material already to it that another movie wasn't going to change anything. All the other stuff you mention will probably be accurate though.

The hype is still fun.

Yeah, this is my lowest expectation at least. Although I think it can't be as bad as his Star Trek since he seems to have wanted to make SW all along.

My favorite shot (other than the starship battles) is Kilo Ren doing a forced mind trick to the Rebel pilot. That's the kind of use of the Dark Side I want to see.
I wonder if he'll turn...
And I love that air of sadness that permeates the trailer. Someone is going to die lol (Probably Luke Skywalker) I can see a kind of cliff-hanger at the end.

Just watched the trailer at work. Rey looks great. I like how there seems to be a lot of aerial battles and dogfights. In the previous films I loved these almost more than the lightsaber fights.

I don't mind that they didn't show Luke's face but I was kinda expecting him to narrate the trailer as in one of the previous teasers.

December 17th at 7PM EST. A 2 hour trailer.

This is the last trailer. Some TV spots appear though

Yeah, the sad/melancholy tone works well to distract from the blatant nostalgia :) It is a really nice trailer I think, hope the movie is as good.

They've shown R2. No more trailers. That's the final one.

I do think Harrison Ford is tired and I'm not excited to see him in the movie but I can't judge Fischer or Hamill since we haven't seen shit of them.

The last thing I have seen from Hamill was him reprising his Trickster role in the Flash TV series and he was god damn enjoyable.

I'm pretty much expecting this. He can put a funtional movie together and is a master of marketing, but all of his films just feel a bit sterile and routine. Instead of leaving the theater with your mind blown it's just like "ok that was pretty good."
Yeah, a pretty good Star Wars movie, what a tragedy that would be.

There is a lot more hate than I was expecting

never mind who am I kidding

Of course there is going to be mountains of hate

Overall, just based on the trailers alone, I am not seeing much to be unhappy over as far as Star Wars films go

Yea Hamill hasn't gotten any chance to show himself off in the big screen since the OT. Neither has Fischer. I'm curious to see how they'll handle this. Unlike with Ford, I'm expecting the same level of performance as Indy 4 maybe even less because I've always gotten the impressions that he didn't care for Star Wars as much as the other movies he's made.

The idea that the force and the Jedi are a myth is cool. And it makes sense. No one saw what Luke or Vader did on the Death Star. Most of the galaxy probably thinks the emperor and Vader died on the 2nd Death Star.

... I really hope Luke doesn't die. They don't need to make him Obi Two.

It's like poetry

oh man, i just ordered tickets for the 00:01 premiere screening on 17th and my payment got accepted twice, but i havent recieved tickets.
Now all tickets are gone and i could bet that they come up with some shit like "whoops, there was a mistake, here is your money back" and im left with no tickets..

I like him. You'll think he sucks 90% of the movie. Un-masks at the end, its Luke. World implodes!

Making Luke the Villian seems like a missed opportunity but it just wouldnt make much sense

Hell it didnt even make much sense in Episode 2 with how Vader was born lol God I hate that movie. Its the WORST one

Phantom Menace is far less offensive

Its hard to tell since basically there is hardly any in movie dialogue from the characters. That may work for some, but damn I would like to hear the characters speak a bit more in the trailers.

Its more from all the shots youre getting frowning to crying and nothing else. Its like they want to skip straight to the final act of ESB, but not... actually bother have ANH to establish these characters as more than just voodoo dolls for the paining.

The only actor that I'm not sure of is Daisy Ridley and John Boyega. The former has appeared in pretty much nothing so I have no way to judge her acting chops. The latter I've only seen him in Attack the Block which was not that complex of a role but wasn't bad in it either. Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, and Gleeson are great actors though.

Boyega is one of my sticking points. He just pulls this... :E face... in every scene to communicate "WHATS GOING ON" and its so over acted that I am kinda dreading his character. Daisy also seems so super serious all the time that these two new leads are... they're not doing it for me. So all while the music and ships and sets are there, the protags are a bit shit. Villains are probably gonna be massively on point but you cant really invest too much into them going forward for obvious reasons.

Welcome to blockbuster film making in the 21st century :(

Loved the trailer, loved Ren's voice. If you've seen Adam driver on Girls you know his delivery is weird as fuck even without sound effects. However I'm still not sold on that mask, it looks like a cheesy 80's sci fi movie design.

Kinda surprised there was so few space scenes in the trailer, for a STAR Wars film. I'm sure the actual film will have more of these though judging from the official poster.

Well, I'm not talking about being forgettable in the grand context of a universe as vast as ST's, but about his films not being memorable at all. Like, I can't really remember anything from them barring a few scenes and Giach's well above competent soundtrack. They just left no impact on me. Into Darkness was particularly terrible at this.

Yeah, this is my lowest expectation at least. Although I think it can't be as bad as his Star Trek since he seems to have wanted to make SW all along.

Same here. I watched Into Darkness yesterday (out of pure luck) and there were parts where I thought that JJ just wanted to make a Star Wars film within the Star Trek universe. At very least it won't be as offensive as Eps 1, 2 and 3.

I just thought with his lack of presence in the trailers so far theres going to be a twist around him.

That's more with the tone of the trailers overall. The only smile we get is Solo's little smirk at the end of the second trailer.

Well it's based on Vader's mask so that's exactly what it's supposed to look like (minus the 'cheesy' part).

You can see R2-D2 at 1.40. Don't think we've seen any C3PO (he is in it the movie for sure though as he's on the poster).

Cheers guys. Guess I missed r2 in all the excitement.

Do any of you know that ship at the start that rey is looking at? She looks at it like its familiar but I can't recall seeing it before.

Here's the plot then:

FIRST ACT:
Rey, a scavenger with dreams of leaving the planet, finds the damaged Millennium Falcon within the husk of a crashed ISD. She immediately starts to repair it.

Finn is a stormtrooper in the first order. He witnesses an atrocity by Ren, and learns two things: that the Jedi are real and alive and that the pseudo-empire has a Mega Death Star. He deserts on a Tie Fighter, gets shot down and crashes on Jakku.

Finn and Rey meet up. Finn convinces her to help him find the Jedi. Together they set out to escape the planet while being hunted by Captain Phasma. They hustle to the Millennium Falcon.

Han and Chewie, years after being seperated from the Falcon due to some plot device return to meet Finn and Rey on board. Together, they make their escape from Jakku and set course for Forest Planet where the rebellion and Luke are at.

First Order recognize the Falcon and follow it.

SECOND ACT:
Falcon lands at Forest Planet. Han, Chewie and Finn set out to find Luke. Han, Chewie and Finn are attacked and apprehended by the First Order. Resistance X-Wings intervene. During the fight Chewie dies to save Han. Big fight over Forest Planet, First order retreats.

After the destruction, Han is heart broken and lost. Leia tries to console Han, with whom they have been seperated for quite a while now.. Rey receives Luke's lightsaber from Leia, who reveals she is her daughter from Han they left on Jakku to stay safe from the fighting the way Luke was left with Beru and Owen. (Plot twist, the future Jedi is NOT Finn, but Rey)

Luke is revealed. Having felt that there is 'balance in the force' following Vader and Emperor's death, he has taken up a hermit's life. Learning about the Knights of Ren forces him to act, he unites with his niece and trains her. Rebel fleet quickly follows and evacuates.

THIRD ACT:
Mega Death Star (AKA Frost Planet) blows up Forest Planet.

Rebels attack Frost Planet. They send a team on the ground to disable (plot device) so that the X-Wings can do the Trench Run. Ground team consists of Rey, Finn and some other people. Knights of Ren kick their ass, in the fight Kylo disables Rey and Finn has to pick up her lightsaber in a desperate last stand. Luke intervenes and dies in the process, enabling Finn and Rey to escape.

With (plot device) not deactivated the Trench Run fails. Poe is shot down and captured. Resistance fleet disengages and retreats. Kylo force-interrogates Poe into revealing the fleet's location.

No need to pay for the movie ticket now.

I thought he looked familiar.

Now the question is..

Did he join the Empire or did the apocalypse footage planted in his brain by the Sith spooked him so much that he decided to join the Rebels.

Or maybe he is a sith spy, sent to find any Jedi amongst the rebels.....

It's a JJ Abrams joint, so worst case scenario, it will be another blue and orange infused, super slick, rather unfocused and woefully forgetable product with no soul at all, yet somewhat enjoyable.

Read: Nu Star Trek with 99% less pointy ears.

I am feeling this way also..

No idea. It explains why Finn is shocked by his appearance. I have only watched the trailers twice so far. Everything is starting to connect.

I'm wondering if he's a character who changes over to the dark side. Oscar Isaacs can play that turn very well I think.

The fucking MUSIC. Not sure if Williams but it's fire!

There is more genuine emotion in these actors faces in these trailers than all the prequels combined.

I watched all of his movies and I'll be surprised if TFA turns out differently.
