Who loves the poetry of Han starting out as a cynical disbeliever in ANH telling Luke that there isn't some all-powerful force that controls everything and here he is educating Rey on the existence of the force. Awesome !

I thought he looked familiar.

Now the question is..

Did he join the Empire or did the apocalypse footage planted in his brain by the Sith spooked him so much that he decided to join the Rebels.

No idea. It explains why Finn is shocked by his appearance. I have only watched the trailers twice so far. Everything is starting to connect.

I bet Oscar mother fucking Isaacs dies. Shows up in ep 8 as pilot simulator AI.

Then does THE moves from Ex Machina.

I wonder if that scene is when they first bump into each other.

I don't remember Oscars name in the film, would be cool if he's related to Wedge (where's my Rogue Squadron movie).

Kylo Ren is not a Sith and as far as I am aware there are no Sith in the film.
I believe that was even stated directly.

No Sith? Are they building towards that again seeing as there are going to be more SW movies?

I can not imagine the Star Wars universe without the Sith.

I'm a pretty big SW fan and I'm still not sure if all ''fallen/Dark Side Jedi'' are stricktly speaking Sith. Don't they have their own code and shit?

The same way even if you are force sensitive and use a lightsaber that doesn't make you a Jedi.

I'm excited. No matter how good or bad it is I highly doubt it will be as bad or worse than Episode 2. That was pretty horrible. Though, I'm not a huge fan of the prequels, I watched them just because, I almost quit halfway into the movie.

That question and the way that Han answers that all of it is true is my second favourite part of the trailer.

The best part is when the music kicks in with the falcon flying away from the tie fighters though.

Yeah Dark Jedi are different than Sith. However, the only Dark Jedi who ever appeared in the movies is Count Dooku, who became a Sith by the time he appears onscreen anyway :lol

LOL. Or he realises that Poe is actually the long lost Prince of Alderaan.

Loved the trailer, wanted to see more, but it's actually ok not to get spoiled :)
couple of thoughts:

- the Sith lightsabre looks heavy, there seems to be weight to it when he swings it. Hopefully that means the fights will be slower and closer to the OT's style than the prequel's overly choreographed shit.

- I like the concept of people switching sides, Finn obviously joins the rebels, but I'm wondering which other characters could make a switch? Poe goes dark (evil Oscar Isaac is awesome)? Kylo Ren goes light after meeting Luke and getting myths about Vader debunked? Luke goes dark?

- Camera movement is amazing.

My one and only concern which is really not a big deal at all. I have no Stars in the background of my Wars. I need space battles!!! Could be there but I see a lot of land in those dogfights.

It's a JJ Abrams joint, so worst case scenario, it will be another blue and orange infused, super slick, rather unfocused and woefully forgetable product with no soul at all, yet somewhat enjoyable.

Read: Nu Star Trek with 99% less pointy ears.

His Star Trek movies are terrible so my expectations are very low.

Hell no. I want it to something like The Old Republic cinematic.

I get this feeling that Kylo Ren will start becoming proficient with the Force as Finn and/or Rey learn it. Like the more powerful Finn gets, the more Ren does too, leading him to goading Finn into using more of it.

Either way I fully expect Finn to bust out some kind of unexpected force use out of utter desperation in his fight against Rey.

That trailer was amazing! So pumped for this!

I'm not surprised to see a lot people here dissappointed or unmoved by this trailer and moaning about the most wackiest of things. This is Neogaf after all. The forum inhabits the most pessimistic and moany people I've ever come across who'll pick at anything, no matter how big or small, in the hopes that it'll make them stand out from the crowd.

Now that was a trailer, I watched it many times and every time I get a large grin on my face, although at first I got a bit tears in the eyes how nostalgic and new it feels.

Wait a minute.

Is this guy

Also this guy?

No, it's his evil twin brother spying on the rebels.

That's what the character of Poe Dameron is for. He's been designated as the new Han Solo. Isaac even boasted about Poe's ability as a pilot.

That's a pretty fucking huge spoiler they dropped in that trailer.

When you add everything up, and I do mean everything in the history of Star Wars mythos and film production, and look at what's going on with the Ep. VIII shoot...it's kind of obvious...but still.

Damn.

Edit: Well Dennis just did that.

I'm just wondering though, cause Luke got a pretty realistic looking replacement... Why would he go to a metal hand?

Lots of reasons he would. Maybe the fake skin was damaged over time and he didn't bother replace it. Maybe it's made of lightsaber-resistant material or something. Maybe he just felt like it.

They absolutely need to KILL that script. The dialogue and character interaction has to be on-point for any of the big set piece action scenes to pay off.

I really don't want another Star Trek here.

Don't fuck this up Abrams. Restrain yourself.

yep. massive spoiler.

Liked the more subdued attempt of the latest teaser. But I guess this is focusing more on the present cast and all the shiny

I think a lot of that speculation is wrong.

For one, I think it's far more likely that Han dies than any of the other OT characters.

Unlikely because
Han and Leia hugging scene is obviously after the events at the destroyed temple, as Han is actually at the site of the temple attack when the X-Wings arrive - so he's alive after that. HOWEVER, Chewie is not present at any scene following their arrival at the Forest Planet. Finally, the bandolier on the body Rey is weeping over is unmissable.

The plot I posted is true.

I don't like what it hints at. Not at all. I'll be bawling like a baby if that happens.

I'm very excited. I'm really hoping the film washes out the bad taste left by the prequels. Also fucking lol at the some of the comments on here. So much hyperbole and vitriol

My favourite part. Han started to crack when he said "May the Force be with you" to Luke, but by now he's a full believer.

I like how the camera is behind Ren at the start of what looks like a Ren vs. Finn lightsaber duel. I don't think we got many shots like this in the original films (the duels were usually filmed from the side, like a fighting game).
