How so? The campaign design has increased the scale of every encounter by adding more verticality and optional routes. They've also brought back the huge scale fights that Halo 3 had and we haven't even see how the Guardian fights will work yet. Audio design is top notch with the sounds of the weapons, added covenant and team chatter, melee and movement sounds, and soundtrack.
Really? There are half a dozen 2015 games which will easily beat Halo 5 at being a GOTY. I will actually be surprised if Halo 5 will be named GOTY by more than a couple of media outlets. I don't think that anyone expect it to be GOTY, just another post Bungie Halo sequel.
The only level that seemed similar to 4 is the second mission, and even that has way more combat options than 4. Any good Halo game has to contrast smaller corridor crawls with big vehicle action sequences. This may sound silly, but the campaign missions I watched seemed too similar to Halo 4 for my tastes. As far as the audio is concerned, I can't seem to get over the sound of some of the weapons, one of the guns has a straight up pew pew sound from a 1960's sci-fi film it seems. The sound effects during movement and such make me cringe as well, for instance the clacking of the armor while running reminds me of someone in stormtrooper cosplay or something.
There are a lot of minor miscellaneous things that bother me too, like all of the clicking sounds, it seems like everything has some sort of a clicking sound to it.
You probably think I am pretty picky, but I feel these minor issues really effect the overall feel of a game.
Honestly I've never been less hyped for a Halo game. I don't care about Locke or his crew whatsoever. The only character I'm concerned with is Master Chief and we've hardly seen him.
The advantage of having hardly any hype is that there is plenty of room to be pleasantly surprised. I don't think I've known less about a Halo game before launch - hardly watched gameplay, vidocs, played beta, etc. Still getting day one and the limited edition and hope that it blows me away.
Witcher 3 is an easy contender and barring some catastrophic issues Fallout 4 as well.Wich one ? Only competition I see is coming from MGSV and Bloodborne. Even Splatoon can't compete, it's not on the same level.
In previous campaigns I was able to watch a replay of any campaign level. Is that still available in Halo 5?

That wasn't in Halo 4 and doesn't look like it will be in Halo 5 either. We haven't heard a peep about it.
MANY, if not most, will give this game a lot of praise. I will also gladly eat crow if not.I will glady eat crow if someone other than Ryan McCaffrey reviews this game really well.
Depends on the game mode. Sure, if you jump into Titanfall and get into a very unpopular playlist you can have a hard time but you'll never run into problems in any of the more popular lists. As far as azure... you do realize how much worse it is under P2P right? I'll take azure and getting outside my area any day over P2P.Using your Titanfall example. If I hop online right now, there probably will be around 300 people playing in my local Azure cluster, and the only game mode that finds matches is Attrition. If I want to play something different, I'm fucked.
Now, Halo 5 uses the same Microsoft Azure dedicated servers as Titanfall. This means that the lag free experience is awesome, but IF you have to play out of your region, your disadvantage is bigger than ever, since now not only you're playing with a 150ms, but your opponents are playing with a 15ms ping. Good luck trying to out-BR someone (it was a nightmare in the Beta).
.
Good enough game? Titanfall is the best shooter out. It's why everyone saw it and is now trying to incorporate something it does. It's a barebones fucking game, developed by 50 people. Please, don't lose sight of what's important in games-Gameplay. I hate when people make these stupid judgement calls based on what amount of people are playing what. GOddamn, we'd all still be playing farmville.Titanfall, like halo 4, just isnt a good enough game to sustain a competitive community which is reflected in the population graph.
.
Nothing in 343s history makes think this will live up to hype. Also lack of splitscreen bloodsplatter, etc makes me think they have fogetten what makes halo halo to alot of ppl.

Halo 4 has an 87 on metacritic.
Halo 4 has an 87 on metacritic.
And Halo: MCC has an 85 lol.
Gaming journalism, a long with gaming metric scores will one day be looked at with the biggest head shake..... some day we'll get it right, but not today.

MCC is good, though. It had serious issues with multiplayer at launch, as we know, but even if it were just the campaigns I'd argue it was a good value. Halo 2 Anniversary alone was great. I mean, they deserve flack for what happened but it's still the best way to replay classic Halo games. And Halo: MCC has an 85 lol.
Ten million, so you expect an attach rate of around 50%?.
Yes. Halo 3 had over 50% as well on the 360. Halo 5 should easily reach 8-10 million LT, and maybe even reach past 12 million, who knows?
Maybe they took Halo 4 for what it is : A FPS instead of a true Halo, and in that regards, Halo 4 is still beyond Battlefield and COD. That and the impressive graphics could explain the score.
MCC SP was good enough after all the patches, MP still suck today but IMO ~80 is deserved. If the MP was on par with the quality of the campaigns, the game could have topped to 92~95 imo.

Delusional to think this in the current climate. I shouldn't have to explain to you how different the market is now vs. 2007 on a enthusiast message board.
Pretty much. There are too many different kinds of Halo fans to satisfy them all.I think it's impossible at this point.
IGN will give Halo 5 a 10 and Ryan McCaffrey will show up to the office the next day in a shiny, new (to him) DeLorean.Nothing in 343s history makes think this will live up to hype. Also lack of splitscreen bloodsplatter, etc makes me think they have fogetten what makes halo halo to alot of ppl.

Titanfall, like halo 4, just isnt a good enough game
Closed levels + A short campaign makes for a terrible combo. Halo 2 had closed levels but overall more levels than any Halo game released thus far (I believe 5 has more). As for closed levels, its been the case since Halo 2. The levels shown in Halo 5 are massive, and have a huge amount of virticality, meaning you can actually use stragegy. But either way, they won't be massively open like the ones from Halo CE.
I don't think you've experienced playing outside your region with dedicated servers. It's honestly worse than playing P2P.
I'd rather play a game on P2P where I have a 170ms ping when my opponents are playing with a 50ms-70ms ping than play with a 150ms (which is what I usually get with Titanfall on US East servers) when my opponents are playing with a 10-20ms ping.
Halo 5 Beta was unplayable to me. There were no players in my local server cluster, so I got put into the US Server every time. My hits wouldn't register. I'd get killed before I even saw the enemy. Grenades took 1s to leave my hand. All of this while the opponents were playing like it's on LAN.
And with Titanfall, I'm not even talking about some obscure game mode. if I want to play Hardpoint (is this the name of the mode where you have to capture zones?), I can't. There's no players. Same for the coop mode. Only thing I can play in my local servers is Attrition (Team Deathmatch)... So, yeah. I'm very worried the same will happen to Halo 5.
Titanfall is the best shooter on next gen consoles right now, how is it not a good enough game? Some would even argue it's one of the best shooters ever.
It did have its issues that lead to people getting bored of it but being "good enough" is not one of them.
I think it'll do fine, I'm mostly a campaign person for Halo and the campaign is shaping up to be something special. I liked halo 4 campaign so I doubt I'll be disappointed in 5. Warzone also looks quite good I'm looking forward to trying that out.

I did say "some people"I dont think ive ever heard one person say this about Titanfall. I have the game, enjoyed it, but no way would i consider it one of the best ever made.
PC is different, the game is practically dead there and has been since near launch but I don't think any FPS would compete with CS GO, even CoD can't compete with it.One of the best shooters ever made and no ones playing it? okay lol.
I should preface this by saying that this is purely from a PC perspective. Its probably different on consoles because your options for shooters are so much worse.
Titanfall has an interesting movement system but its shooting mechanics play like a generic cod clone. Its not fun after 40 or 50 hours which is why no one plays it anymore.
Population isn't just about whether or not I can find a team deathmatch game in titanfall. It's about maintaining a healthy competitive community and fanbase. Competitive games with high populations always have something going on with them, whether you want to compete yourselves or just watch (dota 2, csgo, halo 2 and halo 3). Titanfall, like halo 4, just isnt a good enough game to sustain a competitive community which is reflected in the population graph.
I have high hopes for Halo 5's multiplayer in terms of how much fun it is to play. I'm not sold on whether they have the ability to foster the growth of a long term competitive community - but they're taking steps by running the HCS.
Single player - I'll be honest, I don't think that 343 has a good understanding of where to take the story long term. I hope to be surprised on the 27th though.

In wich sense? Most popular PC shooters are also availabe for consoles, except for CS:GO (while XB1 has Halo, that imo is even better).
shit man i played a lotttttttttttt of titanfall and halo 4. i wouldnt say BEST EVAR but i enjoyed them both a ton
guess im dumb
